Great video. You have more patience than me I tell ya lol. My screen is a little cloudy in the corners. Passenger side been the worst and it has never been mentioned in the mot. 👍
Hi David, I think ill take the screen out. I've got this far, no point in shortcuts now I suppose. Hopefully I don't break it though and it can go back in. I could just lightly spray over the ckoudy bits 🤣
@Neil lol great idea 💡. I really need to take the screen out on mine but I'm worried about breaking the screen plus what I'll find behind the screen frame. Mine looks a little ropey lol 😆
Good stuff Neil,. Great to see you convert the weld on wings, might well do that on mine.. Definately take the screen out mate, if you saw behind my screen, as I've just taken mine out you wouldn't hesitate. Yours looks similar to mine, rust on all the same places. Nice satisfying Job though.
Thanks Chris. I was swaying towards taking it out. And the glass on the rear quarters when I was working there today. Think its decision made. How did you take it out? Sharp Stanley and piano wire?
@@neil... oh I did reply to this last night, they must have removed it as I put a link in it for the tool I used. I bought a wire set off amazon, complete waste of money, kept snapping. I was at it for hours before I got a company in in the end, they charged me 30 quid, and they used a pull knife, was out in about 4 mins. Stanley knife wont be man enough mate, but that pull knife off amazon is what they used.
@@neil... the boys did break my screen but mine had delaminated so they weren't being careful. I think you'll do well to get it out without breaking it to be honest. Although the boys did almost get mine out without it cracking. I bought a car cover from halfords, the XL car cover, 50.quid, just to keep the rain off whilst I do the work, been on for a couple of months now, old window just placed loose in there. Doing all the other welding work before I get the epoxy paint out. Been totally waterproof the car cover, despite some of the reviews on halfords, and it fits well, comes down over as far as the top of the wheels
@@hoverparagliding Lol yea chances are I will break it then if the professionals do! Nice 1 on the cover. I've been relying a lot on mine over the past few months. Not so much this last week though ☀️🌞 I'll wait till I've done all the rest of the paint prep before I even attempt it.
Hi Gary. Yes mate I felt they did. We crushed them up and disolved them in warm water before adding. Ran it back and forth up the farm track for about a hour before the gear linkage broke. The water was running clearish eventually. Its a controversial 1 mate. Just water wasn't shifting the oil and when I went to buy a proper flushing chemical the guy behind the counter said it was pointless and wouldn't look at oil.
Cracking job done on the wings. I just welded mine couldnt be bothered with the hassle . That u didnt show lol . What gear linkage is away am hoping the one on top of gearbox its no to hard to do . Dishwaching tablets or normal persil or Daz does the job to lol . Fingers xsed job is done. Atleast your to do list is getting shorter 👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
Cheers Chopper. When I've seen the debris that can gather up in the front wings I'm glad I've made them removable. It wasn't too much hassle to do. Its a kinda square looking bush Dinky says is away. Can only find it on Autodoc.
Great progress Neil. My AAB alternator had a bracket on it to align it I think. Does yours have one? I don’t think my alternator is working but you can have the bracket if you need it?
nice on bolting those wings on. I got some bolt-on ones about oversized even though they are from a van. means my arches don't line up perfectly when bolted on ??
I wasn't into paying bolt on wing prices. Nearly double the price of a weld on wing! Chip, what my video doesn't show is all the messing about i had to do to make it all line up. Its still not perfect. But its close enough. These wings are all bought in from Taiwan. Doesn't matter what British supplier you use. They're all the same. They definitely need tweaking here and there.
Nice one Neil. Good to see her fired up and going down the road. Getting much closer now mate 👏🏼
Haha aye for the gear linkage to go and break. Just my luck! I'm back to saving up for an alternator and bush kit. I'm also glad its running though 👍

@@hoverparagliding brilliant Chris cheers. Ill have a look at pull knives...But for £30 you got a bargain. And no worry of breaking the screen.
