Really great results , the rain for me actually enhanced the atmosphere in the results and I think HCB did some great rain work, could be a good angle for being invisible as folks are really distracted by it , the compositions with people and lines/angles were really strong , being a pro shows because I think you can sense the possible compositions as you are tuned to that wavelength. So I suggest Nikonos or similar weatherproof device with a lens hood to keep the drips off. Thanks for your insightful work.

Thank you Lewis - I think you are absolutely right about the rain being a good distraction - and I think a weatherproof camera is a great idea. 🙂

Looking forward to your new street photography series.
I was out yesterday late morning early afternoon with my D300s and the non VR 18-55mm kit lens, but minus the battery grip, which is a bit strange as most of my images are in portrait mode. I'm trying to be inconspicuous. I generally take images of buildings and things that interest me.
Personally, I don't like anyone pointing their mobiles or cameras into my personal space, but from afar, that's a different matter.
But I clocked a woman videoing me off her balcony with her mobile. Did she think I was up to no good? Who knows. The police haven't called yet 😆.

I think we all need to relax more about folks taking images of us ... do they take our souls?: Well did MTV?

Street photography does have its challenges these days. So ,any people have odd ideas about privacy and invading of the personal space. At 70 yrs of age I’m not big into confrontation anymore. That said I have used my favorite street camera a digital Olympus Pen F with the 12-40 2.8 lens and my Yashica 124 G. I find that the waist level finder is somehow less obvious and people are less likely to notice you when you are looking down as apposed to holding something up to your eye.

I can understand the 124G - I loved mine- till I accidentally dropped it down a Welsh mountain. Whereupon it refused to focus accurately ever more. I'm not big into confrontation either, but I figure as older geezers we might get 'let off' as 'past being a threat' :-)

Will be curious to see how the Skopar works. I’ve got a pile of Barnack leicas and have been getting more into 35mm lenses, and enjoy the idea of one a bit faster than the 3.5 I’ve been living with.

Did you do horse racing ? I love going to the race track (flat track) here in the USA the colors are very beautiful and the action is great.

I did show jumping - great spectacle too - the horses making amazing shapes in the air over huge fences. That's where I started using my 80-200 nf2.8 first - great for getting horse and rider on the 'power up' to go over the jump.
