I sell mostly 70s football. Compared to last year, it’s VERY slow. I’m not sure it will pick up anytime soon. Prices at the store will not be coming down, no matter who wins the election.
You know I don’t sell cards, however, I’ve heard from everyone that sales are tanking. The economy is just on the toilet. Doesn’t help that football quarterbacks are all in the crapper. Doesn’t help that cards are still too high compared to pre-Covid. Doesn’t help that no real stud is out there to pump the market. Doesn’t help that box prices are stupid ridiculous, which only helps the breakers who are killing the hobby. Just a lot of factors contributing to slow sales…..
I agree. The economy is in recovery mode so not a lot of money into the market at this time. I believe christmas will still be strong and another rate cut will help. Couple rookie QBs doing well but yeah no one is lighting it up.
I’ve started selling cards to make some extra income in my spare time but my main source of income is selling my own branded products on Amazon…my sales there are down 20%-25% from just a year ago. Not to mention that the products I sell are costing me more to produce and the cost of selling on Amazon has also increased…I’m basically getting hit from 3 different sides all at the same time…totally sucks. Hence the selling cards to make up for lost income. I’ve been self employed since 2015…I’ve never seen the economy in such poor shape as it is now.
@@thedollarbox I don’t feel the economy is in recovery mode. Just ask the other person who posted. Does he feel recovered? Nope. Worse time we can ever remember. If they cut rates, they do that to get people to borrow since the economy is in the toilet. They don’t cut rates because the economy is recovering. The government ain’t trying to do us any favors. More money will be spent at Christmas because of the holidays, but it will be just getting farther in debt. My LCS said that 99% of his customers pay with credit cards. Just adding more debt since they don’t have money to even pay their bills. They are gamblers looking for that big hit, like hitting the jackpot, which never comes. The government knows what they’re doing. Fanatics knows what they’re doing. Stick to singles!!!!!!!!!!! See you at the National…….

@thedollarbox how would one look up those type of cabinets you have for the storage of your cards, how many would you say one holds in total?
Mines hold about 70k cards each. Look for metal card filing cabinet. I suggest trying to find a fireproof one
@@thedollarbox any chance you can share the dimensions, it seems your's sits cards just perfect with little to no wiggle room when standing.

I’ve been doing better selling postcards than trading cards. I have 3 times as many sports cards than postcards too.
