I worked in Oman from 1989 to 2007. Loved the country side the wadi and all the Bedouin people. Loved eating mabsali dates and khallas. Loved the halwa made in Nakhl. What a paradise in the oasis. Stunning and memorable experience.
18 years, a little lifetime. It must have been an amazing experience, time enough to learn the fantastic arabic language too. Never visited Oman, allways had a distant dream of seeing it, though. Maybe one day in sha Allah.
I visited Oman in 2014. I spent 3 weeks traveling around the country. It was the most relaxed, calm, friendly, and peaceful country I've ever visited. Such a beautiful place and wonderful people. I hope to visit it again someday.
Exactly 40 years ago I lived in Oman and had the opportunity to travel all over. Fell in love with this beautiful country ❣️🌹it was no tarmac roads in those days only the one from the airport to Muscat 😊
@@KD400_ she can walk alone because its Islamic culture to have a guard with a women, its not enforced by law (+ oman is safe for a woman without a guard) What you're talking about is in shari3h (Islamic law), its laws we Muslims follow wich has nothing to do with the countrys political situation.
I've never had a chance to say hello to someone in Qatar, Hello from Washington state, USA! The western world needs to know more about the history and people of the middle east, we learn barely anything in school here and I think that ends up contributing to the problem of racism, overall. I enjoyed this documentary, what a beautiful place. Peace and cheers from the wet and cold pacific northwest.
After the Bahrain documentary, I'm looking forward to watch other Middle Eastern countries in the next episodes. Thanks for showing Oman, I barely see documentaries about the country.
A very interesting Documentary 'of the land' of the Bedouins and the mountain Bedouins. Those who are keepers of the land and what it produces, their love of what they do and commentment full heartedly is really quite amazing.
This is a wonderful documentary. Thank you so much for putting together something that people all around the world can view and gain understanding of this region
I lived in Al Ain which was a 10 min drive to the border of Oman- I spent a lot of weekends in this wonderful country! Something about it is so untouched and amazing!
Tranquillity is what defines the hinterlands of Oman . Be it the endless deserts, vibrant mountains or the pristine beaches there is serenity all around. The people are extremely welcoming and rooted in their culture. A realisation that nature reigns supreme can be felt while traversing even the most remote wadi.Having travelled across some of the beautiful landscape all i can say is a prayer - Stay Blessed Oman ❤️ 🙏
What magnificent insight into a world I have never known. It's more beautiful than I imagined. And what wonderful people! It's magnificent it's beautiful and it is a tribute to our grand creator. This is a beautiful beautiful part of the earth
The Bedouin an ancient tribal culture that brings harmony and bliss..they have the secrets to keep this life style perpetually sustained..a beautiful place indeed.❤
As an Omani girl, when we were young, my brothers, sisters and I, used to climb and walk on the Mountains behind our house in the evenings.. Trying to reach the mountain’s top first and write anything with the charcoal on the rocks there as a sign that we reached that point. We also walk and walk until we see a bee and follow where it goes to find the beehive. Now we don’t do that while the new generation came and life changed.. But now we can spend our evenings and nights on the Wadi opposite side of my house, relaxing with the sound of water and insects calling the nature under the moonlight especially in the winter’s nights .
I was a professor at Sultan Qaboos University from 1994 to 1996 and a consultant in 1998. My wife Badri, an Iranian, had a good understanding of Arabic and of the culture of the region. With her, I enjoyed wonderful times in Oman. For one of my birthdays, some of my Bedouin students surprised me with a birthday party and sang to me in their dialect. I treasure the precious memories of my life in Oman.
The full outfit, burka and the mens attire perfectly sits well with the climate here. The sand dust and sunny weather. It is so awe inspiring to see their ways and survival across millennia. Respect to those who are preserving their history and ways
Masha'allah! What a wonderful glimpse into Bedouin traditions that go back thousands of years. The first time I saw a falaj, I had to climb into it and paddle - much to the enjoyment of the locals :) I am married to an Omani and although he was raised in the cities of the Gulf, he is never happier than when in the desert. I was disappointed a little that we did not see the amazing skills of the boat builders of Sur... maybe next time :) Bravo and Mabrook for such a wonderful look at this country and their traditional ways. Water is life.
"There are no limits to knowledge." This for me was the most enjoyable documentary I've watched / listened to in quite a long time. Honestly, it might be the best ever. The narrator, music, scenery, and peoples were lovely. Thank you. Though we are so far apart in place and time, i also build stone walls around my fruit trees, burn Frankincense to keep the buggies away!
Blessed IS the sultanate of Oman. Water is the most important thing to me. Yes, blessings from the land that gives us food. Bless you for tending this place. BLESSED FAMILIES of the people of Oman who live respectful lives with the natural world . God's love and grace is there. Warm regards to you all, from one small person on the other side of the world.
This docu is very interesting to me because I lived in Muscat for more than 4 years and worked as a nursing instructor in the Oman Nursing Institute before I came here to the US. I was able to go to different parts of Oman and I admire its landscape.
I live on the edge of a volcanic desert where one can see up on the slopes, islands of forest spared from recent eruptions. There some similarities, though here, the people of old are no more. I am happy to see the people from Oman living their beautiful lives within nature. Thank you!
I love Oman and visit it every possibility I have. Balad is one of the most picturesque places I`ve seen in GCC, but the drive was hard. I`ve actually learnt to drive along difficult roads there. There`s no stopping me now. 😆
Perfect absolutely fabulous and beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Love the oil frankincense. And the date trees are very beautiful.......... from the Ozarks USA, drinking fresh spring water 💦

That's a long time.. how fascinating and rich and such a learning experience.. learning Arabic would be awesome.
I'm learning slowly

OVER ALL COST OF YOUR STAY, WHERE DID YOU LIVE? HOTEL?

you sure did, since you know the date names :)

What I'm saying is that it's not illegal for a woman to walk alone, which I think is pretty obvious🤷♂️
One of the best documentaries. Very calming and informative. People in the video are enjoying the best life
Oman is the most beautiful country in the Middle East. The friendliest local people
