Alright everybody, there are a few questions that are being repeated a lot so read up before asking please: 1. If you didn't buy the cards from the very first Innkeeper in White Orchard and she now isn't available to buy cards from, you can get her cards elsewhere. Buy all the cards you can from Bram, who is stood on the outskirts of the town in White Orchard near the bridge. He will have all the cards, but only one Decoy. 2. The other two Decoys are purchased from the Crows Perch Quartermaster and the Seven Cats Innkeeper if you didnt get them in White Orchard. 3. The Elven Merchant near Carsten, The Ofieri merchant in Upper Mill and the Cow card are only available if you have the Hearts of Stone expansion. Use other Siege or high value Ranged cards if you don't have the expansion. I'll edit more in if needed. Happy hunting!
Phoenix237 yeah I was about to leave white orchard. First play through and game in the series for me. Right before I spoke to vefemir(my Witcher Bff) I saved. And I have finished all the side quests. And now at the inn as I’m leaving I wanna play the guys on the table I’m assuming? But there was no one at the table with Gwent cards. It was midnight so maybe??? I’ll check later I’m playing another game meanwhile didn’t want to meditate nothing at 5 am
Would just like to inform anyone, who is looking to collect up, all the Novigrad Gwent cards, that aren't informed in any other of the guides I've watched. On the mission "Deadly Plot" you have to escort Thalor out of the cave, from the trolls, all the way to his shoe wagon. Once the mission is complete, interact with him to play Gwent, and he will give you the one and only Geralt of Rivia.
It depends on your choices during A Deadly Plot. If you did that quest then Thaler should be in one of the inns (I think Cunny of the Goose?) and you could play him there. If you didn't do Deadly Plot then you can't get the Geralt card. Same thing if you make certain decisions during Reason of State (for obvious reasons).
@@DPhoenix237you have to play the quest old pals. defeat both zoltan and roche then you find thaler in the seven cats in, you cant play him straight after a deadly plot.
i just burnt away 80 points in 2 moves against a monsters deck by letting them summon all their muster cards then they used a commanders horn so i used frost and villentrentameth
Thanks Thrasher. I try to keep it concise and relevant; it's a bit tricky because I feel like there is so much information in such a deep game that I just want to tell everyone EVERYTHING about every little detail.
I love decoy combos with spies and med cards. Obliterate pretty much anybody with northern realm or nilfgard decks. Not too fond of scoiatel or monsters.
@@Yourmommasfavoritescoiatel can be deceptively strong in the later rounds when they revive your spies at the end but when you have everything in northern its so op
The cow thing is such a cool hint to an easter egg. Ever killed the cows right at the beginning of the game in the first village? It used to be an exploit with meditation but now after like 3 times something funny happens
I just started playing the 3rd game too after getting it on sale on the PS store. I'm trying to see how to properly play. I'm having trouble finding good armor.
@@casper191985 I didn't think it was really worth a whole separate video for that considering the only difference is the Cow card and the Gaunter cards. You'd just use some more of the regular 4 or 5 score cards until you get Roche, Ciri, Geralt etc, and you'd buy the 2nd Catapult from Marquise Serenity as I mentioned in the video 👍
Finally the Gwent video I was searching for!! There are so many Gwent videos on how to play but none on how to built early game deck! : D I spent hours of searching on TH-cam to land on this video with only 210 views! Should have 210K views IMO!!! Good job!! I'll subscribe and love more Witcher 3 vids!!!
Great video dude, all the others on youtube were useless because they merely teach you the rules ( which were easy enough to grasp after a game or two so those vids were useless ) but not where to get the cards that you actually need to get you on your feet and start playing, i avoided gwent for 3 playthroughs so i started a 4th one and im having a blast it really turned out to be deeper than i expected with specific quests tailored to it and missable rare cards to watch out for which got me hooked, managed to get all the cards in the main game too thats how addictive it is, hands down the best mini-game that i've ever played.
There is already a lot of good comments but thought another wont hurt. I've watched my share of how to videos of how to do whatever in different games but your pace of information was great, too often you tubers talk way to long to explain things so great job :) very helpful after coming back to this game after 3 years
Thanks man, one of the criticisms some people have is that I speak too quickly so it's interesting in that respect. I think people are used to getting information quickly so I try to put as much info as possible into my videos 👍
@@DPhoenix237 nah it's fine with the speed, I am still in white orchard as not much time atm but saved the video for later as know I can refer back to it later but I'd rather not wade through a 20 min video that can be 10 or less
I'm on my third playthrough of witcher 3. The first one I tried to avoid gwent as much as possible until maybe end of the game (without playing the DLCs), second time I played it a bit but didn't finish the game as I wanted to start over because I havent played that save in months. So on my current playthrough I played everybody and bought every card, had a decent deck but what you showed me in this video is insane. I didn't even know I could get such a strong deck this easy. Thanks for this guide it was really helpful even after all these years!
Bro, I cannot explain how accurate this comment is lol! On my first playthru, I avoided it as much as possible. Just started my 2nd playthru a cpl days ago and thought I'd do the stuff I didn't do the 1st time and now I fkn love Gwent! Lolll
I'm on my first playthrough and it seems like I'm the past version of you, lol. After losing a couple of times in a row, I got frustrated, started avoiding it and now get really annoyed when it pops up as part of a quest. I think it will take a long time until Gwent and I get used to each other.
Level 41 and I haven’t played gwent... Edit: still playing aha I’m a bash I know, level 50 and still haven’t played gwent I think it’s time for a new game? Opinions
Nilfgaard deck mi favorite With 4 spy cards, 3-4 medics, 3 decoy cards, the leader card that allows you to pick cards from opponents discarded cards, pretty much a win by default since the opponent runs out of cards pretty fast 👌🏻
Nilfgaard is a fantastic deck, and is probably my favourite if you have all the cards. The point of this video is a little different though; you can't even use the Nilfgaardian deck properly for a while, and all 3 of the unique spies are random rewards, so you might not get them for ages. You can get this Northern Realms deck as I show here by level 4 or 5 and it doesn't rely on any random drops. If you get Villentretenmerth then you obviously use it, but it's not necessary, it's just a bonus. This video shows how to set up the Northern Realms deck to be dominating right from the word go! I'll be doing separate videos to show my preferred setups for each of the decks late-game too 😀
Thank you for this guide! One of the hardest things with Gwent, as a new player, is setting up your deck. At level 6 I followed your guide and got most of the cards. At level 16 I am still missing the 3rd spy (Thaler), a 3rd decoy card, the Cow and I am using that leader that casts "Clear Weather". Even so, I've beaten everyone in White Orchard, Velen and Novigrad on the first try, most of the time. Having played Magic the Gathering for a few years now definitely made things easier for me. I haven't watched any other strategy videos on Gwent at all.
You make really useful guides, pinpoint explanations that are easy to follow, just like your NG+ guide and other videos. I say you are way underrated, I don't find guides as useful as yours. Thanks Phoenix and keep it up
Man I really love your guides. I've been watching your videos for a few days now and I really appreciate they way u speak and explain (fast, to the point and no uhms and aaas). 10/10 content, much love from România!
@@DPhoenix237 i also have a question if u don't mind. For me, what makes the Witcher stand out the most from other games is the 'darkness' it has that makes it more believable in a way and also the witty banter. What do you like the most about this game?
@@easylove3304 There are so many things to love about it! I love the little touches scattered throughout the game, but I think my favourite thing is optimising builds so that I can make the best builds in the game.
Extremely helpful video! I was at level 11 (not that far along), wondering how on Earth people won and enjoyed this minigame. Lol I was losing every attempt. Didn't even realize I needed these better cards and combos to win. I haven't lost a match since I first watched this video, just from grabbing the first few cards. Thank you!
@@DPhoenix237 what do I do if the shop keeper in white orchard is gone? Her brother is standing near the travel post, but he doesn't have the same cards. No decoys for example.

You made Gwent fun and playable for me, this video is great and honestly easy to follow. You gave the right information and I just needed to do the rest, which wasn’t hard. Any negative comments are arseholes and this guide is one of those that changes experiences - it’s concise, easy to follow, and it works. Thank you so much for the efforts put in the video bro 🙏 wouldn’t have enjoyed the game the same way without this. I’d be sour instead. So cheers!
Thank you dude. I was getting my bum handed to me everytime at Gwent. Looked at many tutorials but yours was the best. Last night I won 30 out of 35 Gwent matches
Phoenix, Thank you, I really appreciate your patience with my questions. I have decided to restart the game and hope the randomiser decides to favour me. Maybe all my enquiries have helped with the algorithm for your video. Looking forward to your next video. 👍👍👍
Thanks for this video-when I played Witcher 3 when it was first released, I ignored Gwent but always felt I was missing out on an integral part of the game. Just started replaying Witcher, and decided I would give it a shot-your deck tips made me love Gwent. Thank you!
Ones and twos in combination with spies are also useful to trick the ai into think he's won and making him pass, then you can use a weather card and a stronger unit to win the round
This video was so helpful. Ive just got back into playing the Witcher and was struggling with my gwent deck. After your tips and locations of the cards I’ve completed most of the Gwent missions. Thank you 🙏
Just bought the game last week and love it, addicted to Gwent so thanks for the video ! Unfortunately i didnt buy all the cards at the start so im missing one decoy card but found the other two for purchase
Your deck just won me the High Stakes Gwent tourney. Thanks mate. This is my 3rd playthrough of the witcher and to be honest, my first 2 playthroughs, I did not play Gwent because I did not understand anything about it. But I now realized how awesome it really is. Northern Realms FTW!!!
Thanks for this! I'm brand new to Gwent and this helped massively. The stronger deck is worth the legwork as it really helped alleviate some of the stress of the learning curve
Phoenix237 Absofuckinglutely Sir, although i will be travelling to Toussaint at about lvl 75 on NG+ so i'll get the skellige set faster, and with this build LOL i'll shred through it no matter the lvl of the place.
I'm level 8 in my first playthrough. Played against the guy in White Orchard, then tried playing the Bloody Baron. He has fucked me up 3 times now. It's frustrating so now I'm here, but I have no idea what any of this means XD Update: Following this guide, I got a bunch of great cards, including that Golden Dragon card. I won it on my first game against that merchant in Midcopse. Idk what the odds for getting it are, but I felt pretty lucky. Now I've demolished everyone I've played. Even went and got my vengeance on the Baron. Only thing is, how can I get more Decoy cards? I bought one at the start, but never went n bought more, now the innkeeper in White Orchard is gone. Thanks for the video, it was a tremendous help. Let's lay 'em down.
If I'm not mistaken, there are 73 cards which you can earn randomly from NPCs (if you've got all DLCs). So you can imagine, more or less, what are the odds to get early that "Golden Dragon" you called (aka "Villentrentenmerth") xD
You can't buy more from the innkeeper at WO anyway, so do not sweat it. You can get the other two from the quartermaster at Crow' Perch and the merchant at Claywitch. The first is easy, but a second is a Person of Distress who you have to first free from a bandit camp and escort home while repelling bandit, drowner and wolf attacks, and even with all that effort the quest is prone to glitch... So that is a bit on the harder side. :)
I know this video is 5yo I just wanted to say thank you for this guide. I absolutely hated gwent before this because I'm bad at strategy games and couldn't get a proper handle on how to win. I'm by no means a master but this has helped me enjoy the game of gwent and not ignoring it. Thank you
Just bought the game. Around level 6 and built this deck! Got me addicted to gwent and easily won all opponents in the gwent velen quest. Thank you for an amazing video!!
Any deck can win against any, just with different strategies. I usually change to Nilf very early. I hunt for those cards. The most difficult deck to combine is/was the Skellige one. There are different ways to use it, but there is one way that will win every single time. That last tournament was always a win.
I totally agree man. This video is just to show how to get a good deck really early because a lot of people struggle and Northern Realms is by far the strongest deck early on. Side note: I love the Skellige deck, it is a really interesting, tactical deck and can be played a couple of different ways, without being enormously OP.
I could never get the hang of Gwent on my first play through and got SO frustrated 😭 but your video was incredibly useful, I’m actually able to play it and even enjoy it now! Thank you!!
I played through and decided I was gonna try to learn everything this game offered because I loved it first time through. I struggled for so long with Gwent but watching this to get a better deck starting off and having to play so much to learn the game and how it works I went through the High Stakes mission at like level 6 because now I just want to Gwent and play everyone! I'm hooked! Starting to branch out and learn other decks. Got Love your channel so far and has helped me get into the Witcher 3 after 4 failed attempts to get anywhere after the Griffin. Thank you!!!
@@DPhoenix237 I finished finally with I think a final for Northern realms and honestly kept the Cow and 3 Gaunter cards for deck thinning while using all the spies. Only added 4 hero cards (including Mysterious Elf) and threw in Villentretenmerth, 2 Decoys (3 got a little cloggy for me), 1 Commanders Horn while running Siege Leader and 2 Clear Weather just in case because as long as weather is clear then I can slaughter any deck. The Scorch Dragon is amazing and saved me the 2 times I ever needed and I found the ratios to be soooo consistent. I thank you my friend. I'm almost done collecting all the cards 😊😊😊
This video helped a lot I got the game of the year edition from the playstation store and for some reason the card dealer only has 4 cards then an extra one but good video was much help
Just brought witcher 3 on switch to playthrough again whilst I wait for my physical gwent decks to arrive so I'll keep these helpful tips in mind this time! Thanks so much dude x
Dude, you are amazing!! This video helped me how to play gwent...even though i wasnt completely following you. I had made a very basic mistake (maybe coz im not a card player in general)...i had put EVERY card i had in included to play. So the probability to draw good cards was just too low. Once i corrected this mistake, im winning every 9/10 times! When i first learnt that W3 wont have dice poker like W1 and W2, i was a disappointed...but now i just love gwent! Thank you :)
This video will live in infamy!!!!💯🤘🤘🤘 I grew up playing yugioh and still have my gba with dualist soul, 2004 tournament, 7 trials and I must say Gwent is freaking awesome!!!!
I collected all the gwent cards years ago so I’m not sure why exactly I chose to watch this, but I’ll keep the info in mind if I ever want to speed build a deck in a new playthrough. Informative and helpful.
Thanks for that excellent video! Is it possible to buy the same card from both Elsa and Bram at White Orchard? Or does buying from 1 mean you can't get it from another? Can I get only 2 Catapult cards?(Without NPCs dropping one that is)
You're welcome, glad it proved useful! I thought the exact same as you and tested it...but sadly it's only 2 Catapults maximum. If you buy it from the innkeeper then Bram won't have it. Same with the second one; if you buy it from the Gwent Obsessed guy then Marquise Serenity won't have her Catapult to sell and vice versa.
@@DPhoenix237 Thank you so much for the reply! I think it's a nice thing they did it, that way people who ignore it early on won't have to pay for their lack of experience
This was immensely helpful, thank you ! I really, really sucked at gwent, and to be honest didn't pay it much attention, right up until I had to do A Matter of Life and Death and realized that messing up that tournament would make me miss the achievement, so I loaded a save and followed your video, and absolutely crushed through it. Thank you !
Yeah, it's a shame that you get Relentless so late in the game. If I'm using Nilfgaard on a playthrough I try and do High Stakes as early as possible. This video is about getting a good deck ad early as possible, which you can't reliably do with the Nilfgaardian deck because a lot of the best cards (mainly all 3 spies) are random wins.
I know it's a bit late but for cheers for this. Couldn't get my head round Gwent but after building my deck up a bit more I've been able to beat a few more opponent. Still got a long way to go but I'm getting somewhere thanks to this.
I understood everything except that burner card I always play against my opponent and it clears out cards at my deck I couldn’t understand why if anyone know please tell me
Scorch destroys the highest scoring card, regardless of which side it's on. It does not affect hero cards. So let's say you've got a 10 strength normal card as your strongest card and the opponent has a 6 strength normal card and a 15 strength Hero card. Heroes aren't affected by Scorch, so if you play a Scorch card then the highest value normal card on the field is your 10 strength normal card, so that is the one that gets destroyed. You have to be careful with them and only play them when it is going to destroy opponent's cards and not your own.
Very helpful video since I skipped most of gwent till the baron story and wanted to make sure i got everything. I think I'm mostly caught up now except for one decoy card for my deck
Phoenix237 Ah, ok. You can try it. PC version is on GoG only, and most importantly now they have an iOS version and Xbox versions. No idea if people can play cross platform but I nearly always find player quick on iPhone.
I did show on the map the locations that are potentially difficult find though? Vizima, White Orchard and the Baron are Story-related and pretty much impossible to miss. Same with Midcopse, but I showed that briefly anyway. The locations for freeing the Claywich merchant, Claywich itself and the location of the Hearts of Stone Gwent guy are all shown. Upper Mill you can easily find by following the quest 'Enchanting Start Up Costs' from the Seven Cats Inn, and the Cow card you get from Brunwich which is the very top-right Notice Board.
@@DPhoenix237 Also having trouble with this - looking for the first merchant after vizima. Finding it tricky because he wasn't in the settlement the cursor was over (I don't think).
@@profc9916 The Elven guy in the camp near Carsten? He's only there if you have the Hearts of Stone expansion installed. Think I mentioned that in the vid? If you don't have the expansion you can't get the Gaunter cards, but you can go to Novigrad and get the 2nd Catapult from Marquise Serenity, who is in the Pasiflora.
@@DPhoenix237 pretty sure I have heard of stone, I got the complete addition. I think I was in the wrong place. Everyone in Velen beats the crap out of me - I'm only level 4 though. The woes of a Witcher noob
@@profc9916 It gets better; we've all been there! I'd recommend avoid monsters and sidequests in Velen until you've done a bit of the Bloody Baron's quest; it levels you up a bit so you have an easy time with Keira's quest. If you head to NorthEast Velen as I show in the video, you must just ride Roach past all the enemies as they'll be far too high level for you right now.
I feel like I've gimped my gwent game. I wan't interested in it in the beginning, but after I saw just about every NPC you talk to has the ability to play, I figured it was probably a crucial part of the game. Now I'm level 20 and I can't even remember how many people I passed on and how many vendors I didn't buy cards from. /facepalm
It's not really an essential part of the game, but it's a fun minigame and there are achievements linked to it. You can still get a lot of the cards if you want, and you could always try the whole thing in New Game Plus again if needed because your deck resets.
just recently started playing the Witcher, really like card games irl, and picked up gwent. Can’t seem to get away from each person I battle for a solid hour 🤣 nice video dude👍
Nah you're fine man, they patched it so that Bram (the guy that you saved from the Griffin) has those cards instead. He's in White Orchard and is the guy that you buy the Temerian DLC armour from. Thanks for the sub!
@@anthonykufta2197 Yup that is him though...the first guy you see, who you saved from the Griffin. He will have the White Orchard cards if you didn't buy them first time round.
You have an interesting, even unique by some standards, voice quality and speaking manner. Did you ever try to monetize it? (e.g. radio shows or voice-overing?)
I feel so disappointed I've lost every game of gwent. It is a frustrating part of an otherwise brilliant game for me. I've watched this tutorial and followed as best I can each step. and still I lose ever time. What am I doing wrong. I want to "like" Gwent but losing sucks. A step by step instruction would be cool.
Same as you. At first I didn't care about constantly losing, since I just ignored gwent afterwards. Now that I'm looking up these videos trying to learn, and STILL losing, I'm borderline getting pissed off now. Doesn't matter how great a card game is if you keep losing every match you try. I'm about to just say this game cheats and give up because this shit is getting ridiculous.
Phoenix237 if you were so inclined, this could be a series. Great starter deck for each faction, then follow on decks. The best part of your guide is the whole of the deck.
@@TheDiverJim Yeah, I always planned on doing a 'best deck' video for each faction. Recently I've been playing other stuff or streaming, which prevents me from being able to make the necessary clips for videos.
Phoenix237 true, I’m just now getting to play the game. Want to play it and read the books before the show comes out. I guess the interest in the game has waned slightly due to its age, but I would foresee an uptick with the show.
great video!!! truly, I just got Witcher 3 about two weeks ago, and I just love Gwent and for the most part I have done great at collecting cards... A great tip that I do, that I don't know if others do this is, every place that you can play the card game, once you beat the merchant or whoever, they give you a random card, and so what I do is, save before I play and if I don't like the random card (and some are great) I just reload that save spot and try again to see if I get a better card or value of it,... I did about 5 loads of wins and got 5 different card before I decided the one I really liked, (but some will repeat) but I been building in army lol as soon as I heard about the Tournament, anyways, sorry for the bullshit long post, and thanks again!
Yeah, that is definitely a viable tip! I did it on my Piercing Cold NG+ Playthrough to get the Nilfgaard deck spies immediately. I wouldn't ever really recommend it to a console player, though...the loading times are so long that it is irritating, and there are A LOT of random cards and it'd take a very long time to get the ones that you want.
@@DPhoenix237 that's very true, as a console player I don't spent hours on loading but definitely if I get an awful card, I gotta reload, i love gwent makes me wish wanna get into these card type game, I was never interested, but I love it.... I definitely got that Cow card today cuz of you so thanks, I got 13 more random cards to get so it's all good
So I've beaten the game and DLCs and the only Trophies I 'need' are the gwent ones but I'm clueless, cant even beat the guy in the palace. It's going to take awhile before I platinum this game.
The guy in the palace is a really good player with a strong deck; no shame in not being able to beat him early on. Try to get the deck I show here, or as much as possible, then familiarise yourself with it and gradually get better. Also, check out my video on Gwent Basics and Overview and see if that helps. I'd recommend following the Card Collector achievement guide on True Achievements too if you're wanting to get the Gwent Achievements because some cards are permanently missable.

@@pogodanderfluff9390 Yeah, but it's a good challenge and a good reward if you're able to beat him so it's interesting. Good luck getting the achievement 👍
I always hated gwent but during my second play through I tried to play it, still didn’t like it. But my third play through, I tried a few games, lost and still didn’t like it. But then I played another and I won and I was like “Oh yeah well that was actually pretty good” and then I started to play it some more and then I ended up spending almost 2 and a half hours running around the map battling everyone at gwent. From Roche to Zoltan, I’ve done every gwent mission I can, and I’m currently up to having to beat Gremist and that lot as well as Lambert. I don’t know what happened but I’ve gotten addicted to gwent and I’ve got some really good cards, and now I’m watching videos about how to play even better and what to do differently. Great video by the wat
With Gwent I noticed that there's also a deck advantage. Like idk if it's my play style but if the opponent is using a monster deck, I can beat them fairly easily with the Scoi'a'tel deck (doubly so if you have the first Scoi'a'tel leader in play as a biting frost safeguard), and if the Scoi'a'tel deck is in use, you can easily obliterate them with a Nilfgaard deck. Again, I'm not sure if it's just specific to my play style but I've noticed that that's what helped me in many pinches before.
Thanks for that. I am on 4th playthrough but only started on gwent this time round and I was getting seriously peed off because I was only finding opponents who had monster or Scoa tel decks.
And I wanted to play monsters through my ng+... so now i've complete more than half of my gwent quests just to get decent monster deck :( It was a bad decision to take players' decks away.
@@Soundwave1900 Yeah kind of, although in fairness it gives players the opportunity to get the Card Collector achievement, which is very easily missed on a first playthrough.
Holy shit the random card I just got from the guy who sells the dragon reaver was a lvl 10 Northern realms ranger, I thought this tutorial was getting me the best cards and just assumed it was given but double checkin now I was even more blessed, thank you!!
@@DPhoenix237 yeah that's the one, I'm super happy. following your tutorial proved to be the best decision, thanks man!! Had a few games where I've ended up with over 100 score!! And I haven't even finished the baron or witch quests. I love this deck. I also got the Villentretenmerth on my journey playing gwent.
Clarification, please? In the video 3:01 he says the Gaunters have muster, so "if you play one it pulls the other one into your deck." Looking at them now (Jan 2020), Muster reads "Find any cards with the same name in your deck and plays them instantly." Is this a change to the way Muster cards work, or did he mean to say "battlefield" instead of "deck"? (Which is perfectly understandable.) Thank you. 👍
This is by far the best Gwent video I have found. Excellent quality. My above question was not meant as derogatory in any way; I was just confused by the comment. When I heard it I thought it meant that I can put one Gaunter in the deck and leave the rest in the card "Collection" and it would still pull them all. Cheers.
@@malataur Yeah I meant battlefield in that sense. So if you have all 3 Gaunters in your deck (I.e. in the 22 cards) you only want to have 1 of them in your actual hand of 10 cards when you start a game of Gwent. You only have to play 1 of them and it'll muster/summon and play the other 2 without them having to be in your hand of 10. You don't want two in your hand of 10 because when you play one of them it'll play the other one as well and you essentially lose a turn and a card unnecessarily.
@@DPhoenix237 Okay, thanks. That's what I thought you meant. I changed my playstyle immediately after watching your video, btw, and it made a huge improvement to my game. :-)
I should've followed this guide before literally giving up on Gwent xD Will give it a try on my next run, since i've already failed the Gwent quest and all that.

Genuite WHAT I was wondering where to get that, the last main mission I did was the battle of Kaer Morhen, is he still available?
It depends on your choices during A Deadly Plot. If you did that quest then Thaler should be in one of the inns (I think Cunny of the Goose?) and you could play him there.
If you didn't do Deadly Plot then you can't get the Geralt card. Same thing if you make certain decisions during Reason of State (for obvious reasons).

Witcher 3 is one of the best games ever, it is like a large chocolate sundae and Gwent is like the whipped cream and cherry! Excellent Video!
Nilfgaard deck mi favorite
With 4 spy cards, 3-4 medics, 3 decoy cards, the leader card that allows you to pick cards from opponents discarded cards, pretty much a win by default since the opponent runs out of cards pretty fast 👌🏻

Alright everybody, there are a few questions that are being repeated a lot so read up before asking please:

He has fucked me up 3 times now. It's frustrating so now I'm here, but I have no idea what any of this means XD
Update: Following this guide, I got a bunch of great cards, including that Golden Dragon card.

You're welcome, glad it was helpful.

You have an interesting, even unique by some standards, voice quality and speaking manner. Did you ever try to monetize it? (e.g. radio shows or voice-overing?)
Thank you, that's a good compliment. I haven't ever considered it, although I appreciate the sentiment.
Love this guide! Would love to see a part 2, as Ive followed this video and now I need to get the rest of the deck ❤
Have you watched my 'Gwent Basics' video? I've tried to give an overview of tactics and card strategies in that.
Thanks to you I've only got 5 cards left to collect, this guide really helped me a lot.
Awesome, glad to hear it!
So fast and so short... But full of valuable tips🤭💕
Thank you for this video... You deserve a sub from me🤭
I will accept it graciously, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful.
Thanks for the tips! Swept all the Velen players first try with this deck!
This took me from hating the game to loving it.
Glad to hear! I love Gwent too...such a fun distraction.
@@DPhoenix237 That's sneaky of them putting a high level player as the first guy you meet! Fuckers. I'm following this guide point by point. Permanently missable? Ok I check that out, thank you.
Thanks man! Glad you love Gwent now; it's great.
Gwent is love Gwent is life
Thank you for the help. I just hit Marcus in novigrad for 190 in one round. That felt good!
Noice.
I think I just don’t know how to play
I'm so glad I found this channel. It's been so helpful for my second play through. You have earned a subscriber
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're digging the content 👍
Slow down speaking a bit man... Also, spend more time showing where you are, on the map. Thanks
I was doing some main quests in novigrad and for some reason my collect 'm all quest failed. I now want every single other card
I lost every match until I saw this video, thanks!!
That's cool, there's nothing that says you have to stick to one deck! Good tactic.
Thanks for that. I am on 4th playthrough but only started on gwent this time round and I was getting seriously peed off because I was only finding opponents who had monster or Scoa tel decks.
I didn't want to do ng plus for the sole reason of losing my gwent deck...but this gets my hopes back up so thanks
You're welcome. It's pretty easy to get a good deck early this way IMHO.
@@DPhoenix237 well, nothing would stop them from getting the cards they missed even if they have almost all of them.
@@Soundwave1900 The High Stakes ones are missable, and A LOT of people miss the Matter of Life or Death ones too!
Holy shit the random card I just got from the guy who sells the dragon reaver was a lvl 10 Northern realms ranger, I thought this tutorial was getting me the best cards and just assumed it was given but double checkin now I was even more blessed, thank you!!
Ah yeah, was that Phillipa Eilhart? She's a random win so I didn't mention it because there's no way to tell when you'll get her!
@@ShamanBuddha I got Regis from a random merchant pretty good. Every game I try to put together a monster deck. I haven't succeeded yet.
@@alexdoorn234 collect em all like Ash ketchum, be the best like yugi moto
Thank you so much, man! I feel unstoppable now👍
You're welcome.
Clarification, please? In the video 3:01 he says the Gaunters have muster, so "if you play one it pulls the other one into your deck."
Looking at them now (Jan 2020), Muster reads "Find any cards with the same name in your deck and plays them instantly."
Is this a change to the way Muster cards work, or did he mean to say "battlefield" instead of "deck"? (Which is perfectly understandable.)
Thank you.
@@malataur That's great news, glad it helped!
in the video you refered to your "starter guide video" (3:45) do you have a link?
Check out the Gwent playlist on my channel; the Starter guide is in that playlist 👍
I should've followed this guide before literally giving up on Gwent xD
Will give it a try on my next run, since i've already failed the Gwent quest and all that.
Yeah give it a shot man, it's pretty fun when you're pasting everybody and it gives you more leeway to learn the game.
