- In this Witcher 3 beginners guide I show you how to get the best start in the Witcher 3 Next Gen update by getting the best armor early and best weapons early in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt after the Next-Gen upgrade which added several new armor set locations and weapon locations to the Witcher 3. I will show you how to get the Armor of a Thousand Flowers Location, Nine Tailed Vixen Silver Sword and Steel Sword Location, Steel and Silver Swords of a Thousand Flowers, White Tiger of the West Armor Set Location and both the Forgotten Wolven Armor Set Location and the Forgotten Wolven Grand Master and Master Crafted Set Locations by completing the Scavenger Hunt to get the Forgotten Wolf School Hear Diagrams.

Update: Regarding the Armor of a Thousand Flowers; This armor set will only appear in the chest or your characters inventory (if you already looked the chest) after you do the following: From the main menu, go to My Rewards 0:46 and then you must follow the prompt to login with your GOG account (doesn't matter what platform you are playing; the login need to be done using GOG account). This is free to do.
I'm getting an error in the My Rewards section. "Unable to connect to backend services"... I tried to restart the console is connected to the Internet..
@@BurN79 That would likely be a GOG services issue, their system is likely over burned with requests. I shall ask them about this.

The sword that Hattori crafts for you in of swords and dumplings, blades from bits has been buffed with a 50% crit damage bonus and the damage scales with your lvl

Yeah only if you start a new playthrough. I updated the game at level 30 and both blades are still trash. They both have the stats and the 3 slots but they don't scale. ??
That was one of my biggest complaints about the game. 90% of the gear you get is trash besides the Witcher sets.
Damn I just started my save at the griffin and gave played several hours. Hopefully I don’t have to restart to get them.
(9:40) The Forgotten Wolf Armor doesn't really have a negative effect to health, I think you got confused there because you had the White Tiger of the West armor on and it gives you more health -- that's why there's the negative there, it's only in comparison to one another, and when you swap them out you just go back to your base vitality.
Those reward armours really helped out! Saved time grinding to get good armour. There’s enough to do and remember in Witcher 3 - it’s my first play through. Thanks for the video.

Yes getting good armour is very helpful, but consider investing in a witcher armour (my personal favorite is cat school since I like whirl), the grind for armors and gwent is probably the most rewarding in this game.

ESO you’re my main guy to go to for any content I need on Witcher 3, or Skyrim. Your attention to detail is second to none. I’ve been following you for a decade I feel like.
I started completely from scratch on ps5 after around 800 hrs on the ps4.
I got the atmor sets in Vizima after talking to Yennefer but were too low level at lvl 4, when I reached Velen I ran into the Deacon when exploring and realized he was a new quest character.
I dove down into the mine at lvl 4 and came back up a lvl 5. What a great and challenging quest! And a great reward, can't wait to craft and use it!

Another amazing steel sword in the early game is Headhunter, which is obtainable from a chest on an island formation east of Hindhold, once you get to Velen.
I definitely understand why the Nilfgaardian scrotal armor set is off by default....it's for safety. If Geralt put on a full set of that stuff and traveled to a cold area he would be crushed to death by armor shrinkage.
The eastern Asia swords look great in this game, can't wait to try them out
the armour and the sword are actually the traditional Chinese Tang dynasty style. I am fascinated by how they look in the game

I love the katanas,their effects are so good and works well with any build.
He mentioned it in his moon blade video but for those of you just finding out now (like me), the moon blade is leveled to you so for me it was a required lvl 4 so the white widow sword is quite a bit better and you can’t upgrade the moon blade so if you get it very early like I did you’re a little sol
moonblade has my favorite design in the entire game. it's disappointing that i want to use it through the whole story but i can't. i just wished they'd put a one-shot magic upgrade or something to max only your favorite equipment, just for this beauty of a sword. i'd pay to produce a replica if i had the money, that's how much i love it.
Wish it had the same upgrade mechanics as cyberpunk where you can upgrade any equipment to you level with materials
I know this might not be of help if you're on console, but on PC there's a mod called "Item Levels Normalized" which basically allows your gear to level up with you. Making it easier to wield/use weaker armor and weapons!
@@jckspacy is that a next gen updated mod? All the gear leveling mods I was using before broke when the update came out, I've been looking for a new one.

Omg i started that wolven armor quest at level 4 because i thought it would be Interesting but then i barely got past everything in there. I did get to the boss though. That put me in my place lol.

Yeah I like that set too. I actually don't like the other new armor besides the witcher armor.
I just wish it was coded as normal dlc like the white tiger set. I have been at it for an hour and still can't figure out how to redeem it from my gog account
Coming back to the Witcher 3, I stumbled upon the quest for the new armour and swords all on my own, level 3, knowing the game fairly well from memory as I have speed ran this game before, I instantly knew “okay wait, this is new lemme gobble this loot, after looting that entire riven filled with bandits, I went into the cave, don’t the thing skipped every voice line, got the stuff from the guy who left the trail of engravings, and I quicksave loaded until I found the right approach to beating the said boss that I will leave unspoiled :)
So on so fourth I marched on taking all my loot, got the armour and swords realising I did all that…at such a low level, died twice trying, and didn’t even get to use anything I got 😂 poopy new start things I guess 🎉 but yo I loved this guild, will be picking up my gifts from wifey at the palace when I resume the play through now I know where to find them hoes! I been looking this whole time like “breh I swear they baited me in with fake free loot coming back, and all I get with 100% guarantee is new game + :(“
I noticed that the regular grandmaster wolven armor is a bleed passive now and not oils so thats cool
So they didn't nerf it? I'll play tommorow and read some comments that they nerf it, and this was my most loved set in game :/
It's been moved to a perk where you can apply 3 oils to the blade now
They shud add a wardrobe option like in cyberpunk, would definitely be cool to have fashion as a meta

Lets not forget about free dlc armors. Temarian armor bought from the merchant you saved in prologue and nilfgardian armor you can buy at bloody baron' place

The trouble with the white tiger one is that the viper (I think) armour is unlocked at the same level, and is better, stats wise at least.
White Tiger of the West armor was a huge letdown imo.
It's stats total to:
21% resistance to slashing
10% resistance to piercing and bludgeoning
20% monster damage resistance
2% elemental resistance
30% poison resistance
25 bleeding resistance
vs
The level *10* Nilfgaardian Armor you can get from the Crow's Perch Quartermaster
it's stats are total to:
45% slashing resistance
40% resistance to both piercing and bludgeoning
15% monster damage resistance
10% elemental resistance
25% poison resistance
25% bleeding resistance
There's only a 12 item rating difference between the total armor value too so... Nilfgaardian armor is just flat out better for some reason...

I LOVE CDPR for actually giving the Netflix armor it’s own lore established into the actual game lore. The explanation that it was meant to be used as an old prototype armor for the school of the wolf but never got finished, awesome stuff! Really helps get rid of that awful taste in the mouth that is the Netflix series
CDPR elevated the Witcher franchise, while Netflix sank it.

I've played this game and both expansions numerous times and have all the achievements including beating it on Death March difficulty. Coming back to play this game with all of these new add ons is a nice change of scenery, so to speak; even if it is ballsack armour lol However, it doesn't mean that I don't prefer the OG game armour. But gotta give thanks to CDPR for adding all of this in so many years later, this is all awesome 🙌

Can't believe CDPR released this quality content for free. Bethesda would have included it in the creation club, each armor costing 5 dollars and the quest 15!
CDPR released it for free to make up for Cyberpunk.
There are no negatives to the forgotten wolf armor. You had the other armor equipped so it was showing a comparison. It simply gives you no health bonuses, it’s not a “negative” like you made it seem.
This has given me another game to reply all 3 games again. Only need Deathmarch achievement and then I have all of them, so might aswell do that!

Before the comments flood in about the bugs in the update. This is not cyberpunk all over again. This is not destroying a game you have loved for years. They will release a bug fix. I am so happy they gave us a massive FREE update
They only bug I have expierienced is that the clothing on non essential npcs is all blurred in cutcenes but people like vesemir, letho and yen are fine.

@@rasmust8044 It is strange tho because it’s only specific pieces of clothing that is bugging out like the chest remains fine but anything below the waist, sleeves and hats are all blurred and low quality and I’m also playing on Xbox which makes it even stranger
the game is stuttering mess right now, especially the dx12 version

Loot and keep everything you find until you're able to craft the first set of your gear, then repeat. You have to dedicate everything towards your set, so you can get grandmaster armor by blood and wine.

I am currently running the forgotten wolven set on death march. It is a really good hybrid build. They must have buffed yrden because it does a lot of damage.
Did the fix the progression of the Wolf Armor Scavenger quests? It always bugged me you couldn't use this armor naturally through the course of the narrative because the base level 14 armor was only obtainable in Kear Morhen

@@Master-gl3hv you have to go to My Rewards and set up a free account with an email address. I think it'll still show up in your inventory even after you looted the chest.

I only care about the Netflix Geralt Armor, because Henry was the only one who actually cared about us
yes you do get the note from jennifer about the new gear with the older version and at max level however, i did go and get the gear at level 100 from a previous old save and error came up not available for this version. i had to clear my entire game which had over 350 hours on it and start the game completely new and pissed me off.
I loaded in my current save (I started playing again about a week ago not knowing about this update😭) and the “Thousand Flowers set” was already in my inventory at the bottom.
Having second thoughts about updating my game have too many mods installed and everything's perfect
I just hope the Enhanced combat mod is updated to work with the new patch.. Best mod ever.
Aerondight is my priority, was disappointed when I ended up obtaining the blade right when I completed everything the first time.
I'm in Newgame+ and brought Aerondight with me, thing is just too good.

I made that mision in lvl 5 and unlocked the forgotten wolven armor i didn't noticed it was lvl 20 that mision
i stumbled upon the forgotten wolven quest by accident but i was already way overleveled, i would like to try to but at that time my enhanced felin set was already enough. btw that boss fight was truely difficult, albeit being more than lv20
Yeah, something that help me a lot to save money in my first playthru, me not being a fan of grinding too much, was to never use the best gear found to fight anything on the road and outside the main quests/big boss fights cos the better the gear, the expensive the repairs, specially in early game😒
the Nilfguardian Armour from the barons quartermaster is better than the flowers armour. (45% res to slashing- 40% res to piercing dam and bludgeoning dam- 15% res to monsters and 10% res to elemental)

Hey for the armour set locations, I was only able to find the White Tiger of the West armour in the chest. The other set of armour wasn't in there for me. Did anyone else experience this?
You need to set up cross save its a reward for doing so.

I think its better than aerondight but i didnt get it until level 97 near the end of the playthru. Id bet it might not be as good if it wasnt level 97 but im not sure as most weaps u find in the wild will level to your level but the stats are completely random over multiples of the same swords

Would be nice if the Chinese armor set doesn’t look all golden… but nice for displaying in Corvo Bianco tho, like those golden Toussaint armors
Are the things in My rewards only once? Like if I have multiple accounts on a ps5 and 2 people played, would they both be able to get the my rewards stuff?
