Been to Ireland 10 times to play, always play the links as they are unique to Ireland and Scotland. My top 10 would be Ballybunion, Lahinch, Donegal (Murvagh), Carne, Enniscrone, Rosses Point, County Louth, Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, Portmarnock Old. The last 4 we have only played once, the others multiple times. Usually the best part of the day is the people we meet and the pint at the club bar.
Hey Pat, thank you so much for watching our video! We really appreciate the support. That is some top 10! And you're absolutely right, the best part of the game is 100% the people and the craic you have afterwards
On your list I have played four of them: Ballybunion, Lahinch, Portrush and Royal County Down. Hard to choose which is the best as they’re all beautiful. I would probably choose royal county down, I have to admit it was the best weather day of the four when I played them.
Maybe not of the level of courses you guys have been lucky enough to have played but I played Galway bay and thought it was beautiful too .....haven't been lucky enough to play those you mentioned tho I'm only about an hour from portush so maybe some day soon as we went up and seen Lowry win and it looks class also got seve ballesteros golf ball at mount Juliet and signed my programme something I never will forget as he's my all time hero .........
Hey Mark, thanks so much for watching the video and for commenting. Really appreciate the support! Played Galway bay and love it, any time I’m out that way I always make sure to hit it up. It’s a proper test of golf and a lot of fun. Some brilliant courses up around the Portrush area. What’s your home course? That’s an incredible moment to have that from Seve!
@@BogeyMenPod home course is Portadown co armagh it's a parkland course kinda flat but usually kept very well good greens ..........played a few down south ....GLASSON , ROGANSTOWN, ATHLONE, BEARNA, KNIGHTSBROOK .but Galway bay my favourite so far.
Review of "Top 10 Golf Courses in Ireland" Hi lads, Great job on the video showcasing the 10 best golf courses in Ireland! Your selection really highlights the rich diversity and stunning beauty of Ireland's golfing landscape. The video was well-edited with breathtaking drone shots and insightful commentary on each course. I have a couple of suggestions that might enhance the viewing experience even further. Since Ireland is renowned for both its links and parkland courses, perhaps you could consider splitting the list into two separate top 10s: one for the best links courses and one for the best parkland courses. This way, viewers can get a clearer understanding and appreciation of the unique qualities each type of course offers. For the links courses, I’d recommend featuring: Royal County Down Ballybunion Golf Club Lahinch Golf Club Portmarnock Golf Club Waterville Golf Links Royal Portrush Golf Club Tralee Golf Club The European Club County Sligo Golf Club Enniscrone Golf Club And for the parkland courses: Adare Manor The K Club Mount Juliet Druid’s Glen Carton House (Montgomerie) Fota Island Powerscourt Golf Club The Heritage Palmerstown House Estate Headfort Golf Club (Championship Course) On that note, I highly recommend a visit to Headfort Championship. It's a hidden gem that combines challenging play with the picturesque surroundings of the Boyne Valley. The mature trees and beautifully designed holes make it a standout parkland course that deserves recognition. Cheers and keep up the fantastic work!
I recently stumbled upon your channel and I am loving it guys! Hard to argue with that top 10 although I would advise a visit to Portstewart in the near future to dispute it 😅
I genuinely believe when ye finally get to go play carne it will easily make it into the top 2 course ye have played its like nothing else simply stunning
Hey Nigel, thanks for watching the video. Really appreciate it. At the time of making the video we hadn’t played RCD, Lahinch or Waterville so couldn’t include them in the list
@@BogeyMenPod All good mate, hope you have them on your list or may have played them by now.. Portmarnock was my least favourite course in Ireland but I had a terrible hangover that day 🤕 Best wishes from Melbourne 👍
Yea we've since played Lahinch, and RCD and Waterville are due to be crossed off very shortly. So we may have to do an updated video haha! Portmarnock can absolutely beat the crap out of you, particularly if you're dying of a hangover! Cheers mate glad you like the video, we have plenty more coming soon so if you haven't already, we'd really appreciate the sub!
Royal Co down is not a great golf course. Far to many blind shots, and far to many poor bounces. In Tiger woods prime I seen him take atleast 86 at RCD . also in practice round for British senior open, Gary player said it was the worst an most unfair "@££%&£" courses he has ever played 🤣
Just played Ballybunion Old for the first time and St A old and new for the first time within the last two weeks. Folks are shocked when I say the old course at St. Andrews was my least favorite of the three. Ballybunion old is far and away the most pure and beautiful course I think I’ve ever played
Hey Seth, thanks so much for watching the video! Yea Ballybunion is incredible, if you liked this video you should check out our series ‘Tee Time’! We played the 2 Ballybunion courses, Tralee and Dooks!
I tell people as well….if the Old Course was the muni at your town you wouldn’t pay $50 to play it . Been there..done that..don’t really need to go back. Too many great courses over there I’d rather play.
When we recorded this we hadn’t played Rosapenna, St. Patrick’s wasn’t even open then either. Since then yea we’ve played all 3 and they’re all world class!
I thought Cashen might sneak in but we are blessed for choice in this country, if a golfer could only golf in Kerry for the rest of their life they wouldn’t be disappointed with the options! As a county has it the collection of best courses in Ireland?!
It absolutely is! We hadn’t played it at the time of recording, but we’ve actually since filmed a video at Ardglass! You can check it out on our channel!
Still haven't played Concra Wood, but it's on the list, just need the weather to improve so we can get to some of these places! Doonbeg is a great course, regardless of ownership, one of the most fun days we've had on the podcast was playing Doonbeg this summer.
There are plenty of ususal suspects and no shortage of great links courses, but The Island in Donabate in North Dublin and Carne in Belmullet in Co. Mayo are hidden gems.
Both brilliant courses. Neither of which we’ve played yet. Have plans to play both soon. So this list will need to be updated! Thanks a mil for watching!
Doonbeg the best conditioned golf course in Ireland hands down. Shame so many people can’t get over who owns it and object to every improvement they try to make there. Could be the best in Ireland easily.
That's a great list. We need to do an updated list as we've had the chance now to play some more great courses, haven't been to Waterville or Old head yet though!
Portmarnock is a fair but tough links you not mention The Island, European, Waterville and then there is Ballyliffen (2) courses and Rossapenna (3) courses and Lahinch, Ardglass, Royal Portrush, Portstewart, Ennis rose, Rosses Point, Ballyconneally, in fact Ireland has a multitude of great links courses any visitor will be spoilt for choice there are so many here.
There are so many great courses in Ireland. Limiting the list to 10 is nearly impossible. Some absolute belters in the list there. Island is class, european is a beast. I love Lahinch. Hadn’t played it when we recorded this but have a whole other video on it. Ardglass is amazing. So much good golf here
This video promises the top ten but only delivers five!? What's with that? Is there a following vid? Also, folks are wondering about the lack of say Royal County Down. Was this video only supposed to list Ireland courses or Ireland and Northern Ireland?
Hi John, this video gives our full top 10. Jonny picked 5, Dave picked 5. And as we said at the start of the video we have to have played the courses for them to be included in the list. At the time we hadn’t played certain courses such as RCD or Lahinch
That's certainly a popular opinion, and one I thought of before I played the course, what I will say is that everyone that I met who works on the course or in the hotel were locals to the area who would likely have to move away to find another job if this course and hotel didn't exist. It's massive for the local economy, not just the staff but other local bars, restaurants etc that benefit from the tourism the hotel drives. I looked at is more as supporting them than the owner.
Maybe do some courses that aren't over 300 a round, but you're just part of the industry. Adare is ridiculous, never open and a bane of the local community.
Maybe have a look at some of our other videos where we go and visit courses like Arklow, Shannon, Standhill, Ardglass, Downpatrick, Old Conna and others.

Obviously you have never played Arklow
Have you played Ballyliffin? They have 2 x 18s up there. Both are superb.
Play St Patrick's at Rosapenna
In over 45 years of playing, mountjuliet, trump @ doonbeg and killeen Castle are my personal lifetime favourites
They’re 3 great courses alright! Thanks so much for watching the video!
Just played the 3 Rosapenna Courses last weekend. 3 brilliant and totally different courses on the same stretch of dunes. Well worth the 4 hour drive!
Hey James, thanks so much for watching the video. Yea Rosapenna is 100% on our list to get to this year!
Great selection on golf courses, I must go over to Ireland for at least a month when I retire. Ireland is a credit to world golf.
Just played Lahinch and have to say it is in OUTSTANDING condition. Have played it lots but never remember it being in such brilliant condition.
That's super! We actually have a video on Lahinch and golf in Clare coming soon, it's a series called Tee Time! Episode 1 goes live tomorrow!

For the links courses, I’d recommend featuring:
Royal County Down
Ballybunion Golf Club
Lahinch Golf Club
Portmarnock Golf Club
Waterville Golf Links
Royal Portrush Golf Club
Tralee Golf Club
The European Club
County Sligo Golf Club
Enniscrone Golf Club
And for the parkland courses:
Adare Manor
The K Club
Mount Juliet
Druid’s Glen
Carton House (Montgomerie)
Fota Island
Powerscourt Golf Club
The Heritage
Palmerstown House Estate
Headfort Golf Club (Championship Course)
On that note, I highly recommend a visit to Headfort Championship. It's a hidden gem that combines challenging play with the picturesque surroundings of the Boyne Valley. The mature trees and beautifully designed holes make it a standout parkland course that deserves recognition.
Cheers and keep up the fantastic work!
Thanks so much, yea we really should do two individual lists for parkland and links courses in Ireland
New course at Rosapenna, St Patrick's Links is unreal.
It is indeed! Wasn't open when we made this video, but will probably do an updated list soon!
Boys you need to get yourselves up to Carne in belmullet well worth the trip, best course I ever played.
It’s on the list for 2022. We’re going to visit and film a piece around it!
@@BogeyMenPod The two of you will love it just asked for Gerry Maguire.

Thanks so much for watching, really glad you stumbled upon us! Yes we really do need to go visit Portstewart, it's on the list!
Nice work 👍👍 well presented
Thank you so much for watching Padraig, really glad you liked the video. We have plenty more to come over the next few weeks too!
I genuinely believe when ye finally get to go play carne it will easily make it into the top 2 course ye have played its like nothing else simply stunning
trust me I agree! I was filming there for the PGA this year and it was amazing, walked the course but haven't got to play it... yet!
Can't begin to tell you how good Carne is. As for parkland Concra Wood is a must
Yea we really have to get out to Carne really! Thank you so much for watching our video! Really appreciate the support!
Not sure how you included Portmarnock but left out Royal County Down, Lahinch and Waterville? Wonderful country, wonderful people, wonderful golf ⛳️

It was certainly a contender! Yea life wouldn't be too bad if you could only play golf in Kerry.
Ireland must be a contender for best country for golf
For my money yea Ireland has to be up there! Best country for golf especially given it's size!
Ardglass in Co.Down brilliant course to play
It absolutely is! We hadn’t played it at the time of recording, but we’ve actually since filmed a video at Ardglass! You can check it out on our channel!
Adare manor is in Limerick lads
Haha damn typo! 🤦🏻♂️ how was this only noticed now!?

Have you played Old Head?
Unfortunately not, we'll have to plan a trip down that way to check it out!
Tralee is so underrated
Doonbeg the best conditioned golf course in Ireland hands down. Shame so many people can’t get over who owns it and object to every improvement they try to make there. Could be the best in Ireland easily.

The Island, Donabate.
European course is such a beautiful links
Yea it's stunning, but also a very tough task!

The old head course
Carne belmullet
Yea it’s an incredible course. We just haven’t got out there yet! I imagine once we play Carne, it’ll easily be on this list
The Irish Open rota I assume 😂
Most have or will, couple others in there that won't ever host one either though

There is too much emphasis on conditioning. You have ANGC disease.
