That's cool. Never realized they made this course so hard to play, everything is against you. You just have to play smart. This definitely isn't the course to attack, you have to let it show you where to go.
It’s definitely a course to attack. In fact, it is THE course to attack. It’s such a compelling course because it provides clear opportunities to attack and absolutely rewards great shots… but it also requires creativity, shaping, and execution to do so and absolutely punishes mistakes, especially on the attacking opportunities. It’s got many of the great risk-reward holes in good history on one course.
Wonderful video to watch before Masters start! Give you an appreciation of how tough the course is and will enhance your enjoyment of the tournament! Thank you for creating this for us weekend warriors! 🏌️♀️⛳️
I grew up literally on the fairways of golf courses in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area and went to high school in Pebble Beach. I know golf courses. I know the most beautiful golf courses anywhere! However, when my wife and I attended the Masters about 8 years ago, after entering the grounds at Agusta National on a Practice Day at about 8:30am I almost dropped to my knees at my first sight of the course. It's majesty and magnificence is simply indescribable, for me at least. With every angle, view, fairway knoll, creek, green, incredible change in elevation......everything, it just exceeded all expectation and fantasy. It was almost a religious experience. Some might think this is hyperbole, but I'm dead serious. It's crazy beautiful.
@@DanTuber - I understand. My wife and I are trying like hell to get back. A friend of mine who is a race car driver (Indycar) has only been in the United States for two years and has already played two rounds at Agusta National. He wonders why I refer to him as "that son-of-a-bitch"!
Very cool to see this just a couple of days from the start of the tournament. A lot of small details that even the commentators might miss. Really looking forward to this one. Planning my meals in advance, so I am locked and loaded.
Agreed. I’ve watched a few times. Well listen to mainly. But I’ve started it a few times now so I can watch after listening to it countless times so far.
This is easily the best ever video of how to play Augusta , you can't ask for better advice on how to play a particular hole than from a Green jacket Champion
On my old computer I could play 2001 Links golf, and someone made the Masters course and shared it online....I'm sure that was not 'official'...it was simply awesome. I got to know every hole, the detail was so well done. But all good things have to come to an end.
There’s absolutely NO WAY you managed to get a tee time for Augusta National- can’t believe someone gave you a thumbs up… Reasons there’s NO WAY you could’ve made a tee time for Augusta National using: 1) Augusta National is a private club- only extremely wealthy and influential people are members of the club 2) The Masters is being played at Augusta this week; thus, ONLY PGA TOUR PLAYERS will be on the course Anyway, better check that you reserved the right “Augusta”!golf course…

What an amazing insight into the challenges these champions faced and overcame at Augusta on their way to Masters glory. Loved hearing the strategy and perils of playing these famous holes! I wish they'd put Augusta on Toptracer.
It’s such an interesting course. It’s pretty wide open and the fairways run. What makes it hard is that there are almost no flat lies and the greens. So many of theses courses the guys can bomb it and hit a wedge or short iron right at the pin. At Augusta you need the perfect distance and landing spot so the slope takes the ball to the hole. We have seen the course be super wet and calm wind, scores are low12-15 under. When it’s playing fast and firm with just a bit of wind 3-5 under can win it.
i wish A) i was good enough to have to take all these things into account when making shots B) has the opportunity to play at such a beautiful course. my goodness it looks fun
A TEN handicap playing here for the first time would not crack 100 on this great course from the Tour Tees. The Greens are so tough that if you put the ball in the wrong place, a 3 putt is guaranteed, and a 4-putt can easily come into play. I would love to play it someday but that is a total fantasy.
I'm with Bubba. 13 is the best hole at Augusta. I can't put my finger on why I love it so much. I think it's the look of the green with those bunkers behind and Azaleas everywhere.
Nice video. I like 12 for its beauty. I like 15th for that calming/scary, you'll lose big time if u screw up here affect. That name, "Firethorn" is cool. That's what I think they intended with all the water holes (12, 13, 16), creating a Jekyll & Hyde effect.
I was really hooping you would be mean enough to have Spieth talk about 12. It would hurt me because he is the player I most cheer for, but it would be peak content.
Drives me nuts when unnecessary lout music is added that covers up good info. My hearing sucks and it’s like trying to have a conversation in a loud restaurant.
Perhaps an ignorant question. I’ve heard the Masters makes changes yearly or almost yearly to adapt the course to modern play; in other words to keep the course competitive for the current group of Pros (no easy holes). If that is the case, how have some of these holes changed since Nicholas, Watson, Faldo etc. played and therefore the strategy to the hole? Just wondering.
They've lengthen the entire course. Added more bunkers and also made them deeper. Tighter fairways that command precision tee shots. Undulating greens makes three putts not so uncommon. A wayward drive or a putting mis read will take you out of contention quick like, fast and in a hurry. Any round under par is a great round, shooting even par is a good round. This beast is hard to tame!
This video is awesome. Although, I wish it included their actual voices.

Man, idk what it is but hearing Tiger instantly brings me to tears.
This is getting me hyped for the tournament.
Jack did hit it in the water at 16. 1990, with Faldo….
I was ALMOST DISSAPOINTED, but told myself Tiger would do 18... he HAS TO! AND he did
I had to cheat and check the description because I was thinking the exact same thing.
14 Master's victories by the guys doing 16, 17, and 18... knew they would have the GOAT's go last
Was hoping for Phil on 18!

besides that, excellent video
Would've loved to hear each player actually speak, as well as the narrator did. I'm confident the players would've loved it too.
such a great video
Mark o meara full 7 iron on #4 240 yards? Right... 3:35
Hahah cant believe it took me to DJ til I realised the players weren't speaking
Hearing that Jack, as far as he remembers, has never hit a ball in the water in a tournament, is quite mind-boggling.
Actually he hit it into the water at number 15 once but played out of it and almost holed it.
if i ever play this course i will 100% hit the water
@@mostdeadlygeist I’d prolly have a higher water percentage than fairways
He said he hadn't hit it in the water on 16, not the entire tournament.
@@dash_r_media thank you for setting him straight
This is so good! Thanks for this.
Imagine one of the guys at the masters getting caught watching this video on the course hahaha
How did O'meara hit a 7 iron 240 yds !? In 1998 no less .
I was expecting to hear the voices of the champions.
You pronounce words with S's just like Rickie Fowler. Fitting for this.
Incredible
Laying up on 3!!!!!
do this for other majors as well please!
That's hard to do since the courses are always different for the most part
This narrator guy made Dustin Johnson sound interested.
Very good.
Huge opportunity missed to have the guy actually read it on camera instead of narrated. It's better in their own voice. Still cool tho
Sure. These fellas have all the Masters champs on speed dial...
This video is awesome but it including their actual voices would have made it worthy to watch the whole thing
Adam Scott's got an American accent! 😁
Great video.
So is Danny Wilett
Pure class.
The fact that you put Tiger for the 18th
So good
Why the foreground music?
Remarkable how many golf legends say how easy it is to score a 5 or 6 on many of Augusta’s holes.
This is the best course on earth.
Epic stuff.
kinda wild phil isn't in the video. whats up monahan?
I just want to play there one time. I would probably shoot an 85 but love every second of it.
Unless you are a touring pro or +hcp, 85 would be an outstanding score!
I kind of wish it was actually narrated by the winners, but I understand some of that isn't possible.
This video is out of date. They have changed holes 11 and 15...mainly on the distance
Great video. However, the music is fighting with the voiceover. Makes it particularly hard to follow.
Can't wait to see tiger win another one someday
What about two-time winner Jose Maria?
Jack eagled 5 twice in one week!! Unbelievable
and i cant find video footage of it... so disappointing
How to play Augusta….. it’s soooooooo easy! Down the middle, on the green, in the hole! BAMMM!! 😂😂😂
Langer really cleaned up his German accent😊
The biggest thing I can’t believe in golf is now how Jack holed out twice for eagle , on the same hole, in the same year ??? No, that’s impossible
The only way to play every hole at Augusta is with a ball and clubs, end of story.

Danny Willett winning a Masters is the still so funny to me
Go Tiger
Danny Willet and no Phil.....good job guys
I thought for sure Tiger would analyze 16 and Jack would take 18
This is how to make golf harder. Don’t deaden the ball or lengthen courses
