There are cool places in Panama City, it's called Cerro Azul. And in all the provinces there are cool places and in Cerro Punta Chiriqui it is cold up to 6 degrees
I love Panama City. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a tourist area. I stayed at an Airbnb in the Obarrio district, west of Casco Viejo, for two weeks. I enjoyed the subway and the buses, plus a lot of walking. Panama City was extremely hot and humid in August, the rainy season. The temperature exceeded 100 degrees for several days I was there. I learned to find shelter in several outdoor cafes with fans and smoothies. The Panama Canal was impressive, as were several neighborhoods like El Cangrejo and San Francisco. Because Panama is becoming more popular as a retirement haven, rents have risen in Panama City. I noticed apartment rents above $2000 monthly, more than I pay in Chicago. However, with more digging, I found a 1000-square-foot air-conditioned furnished one-bedroom apartment in my Airbnb building for $950 monthly. Similarly, I found a beautifully furnished 650-square-foot air-conditioned apartment for $1000 monthly in Casco Viejo, a $650 monthly savings relative to my current apartment in Chicago. If you're looking for cooler weather, Boquette is a trendy spot for American and Canadian ex-pats in Panama. I've already booked another two-week vacation in Panama City next August!
Panama doesn't have too many tourist, then most people that you will see around the area are people that live in Panama (nationals and from other countries). Most people go to the places after work (after 5 pm). Yo may find some people training early morning (running, walking, etc.). Also, we don't usually walk when is too hot in the streets or the promenade.
@Tolu.Travels During the dry season (December to April) the cruise ships pull in to port and that's when you'll see hordes of tourists. Rainy season is low tourists season, not to say you won't see them walking the streets.
Hola guapa, bienvenida a Panama. I hope you're enjoying your visit. Regarding the temperature, if you want to experience a better weather you could go to a town called El Valle de Anton, approximately one and a half hours from Panama City. It's a small town as I said before, with a very nice temperature compared to the capital. About the Panama Canal, it doesn't use electrical or fuel pumps to raise the water levels in the different locks. It works with the force of gravity. The best time to visit Panama and enjoy all it has to offer is during the dry season which goes more or less from January to March. People may think that it may be a lot hotter because of the Dry Season, but it is not the case. Don't get me wrong, it is hot but not as humid because of a nice wind that blows during those months. Que disfrutes de tu estadía y gracias por venir. Take care...
My suspicion, as a Panamanian, is that that guide is not Panamanian. He spoke nothing of the reason why Casco Viejo was founded after the destruction of the original Panama City around 1672. There is a rich history to the city and country. He might be Colombian or another country, as there are many immigrants from neighboring countries. The guy with the juice is another immigrant, from Jamaica, to my point regarding the guide. Anyhow, glad you enjoyed our country, sorry you didn’t get more regarding our rich history.
Thank you fo sharing! He did go more in detail for things but I didn't include everything in the vlog, so thats my bad! But I definitely left knowing more about Panama than when I first arrived 🙌🏿
Wow! You did a great job of showcasing the highlights of Panama City. I was there in July and honestly, I could have seen more and my group wasn't as fun😏Going back this summer b/c a friend is living there now and I'm excited to really explore more.🙏🏾✌🏾
I enjoyed viewing the video. I am a panamanian but was raised in the US since 9 yo. I only have vague memories so it is nice to see this video as a 60 yo. Been back once a long time ago for a funeral. My maternal grandad ,who was from Jamaica, came there to work on the construction of the panama canal. By the way, what is the name of the tour guide? He did a great job.
Nice!! to have you been here!!! but.... this is only the City place you need to been here next time to visit the Jungle and also the National park and many other places outside the City
Is tantalo in the same area as casco veiejo tour is? I'll be there in Dec, and that would be a great lunch to go to after the tour if it is. Thank you in advance
I think a car would be awesome! Would save a lot on Uber and the driving isnt there isnt crazy at all, You'd be able to drive to the modern city of Panama and the Panama canal more easily
I just went there and I stayed at RIU hotel very nice especially the breakfast but Panama is not for me the only thing I enjoy is the Indian town . I will not return.

Also how did you book the walking tour?

Oye, el señor se portó bien,
They should hire a guide with more knowledge of Casco Viejo and more proficient in the English language. Seems like it's just a money grab. I want to know more than which building is a hotel and which is an apartment building. And the guide and the juice dude are in cahoots. The guide takes business to the juice dude then he gets a cut of the profits.
Haha honestly he did go more in detail for things but I didn't include everything in the vlog, so thats my bad!
