Received mine today here in Mumbai, India, and cannot hold myself back from looking at it over and over again - beautiful design, stellar display and awesome bracelet - it's all there. As a Casio fan, and a watch collector, I couldn't be happier! The best digital watch money can buy. Period. This is made in Japan bottom up, and the build quality completely justifies the price. Loved your video!

A saving grace for not having a sapphire crystal is the fact that the mineral crystal is not only flat, it sits above the case slightly. This makes is very easy to apply a screen protector. I've done that for the ease of mine, and it is not even noticeable.
Always enjoy your reviews and this is no exception. Received my TR50 yesterday, sized it and enjoying. It’s surprisingly charming and has grown on me. Each wear, I find more things about it that keep me coming back. It’s a great watch and was a real sleeper for me.

I think I prefer your grandfather's '76 Casio. It's thinner and has better proportions. But it's good to see that Casio is catering to the enthusiasts like us! 😊

I never understood this epidemic of "limited editions" that almost no one can buy. I think they are made specifically for quick profit hunters who sell them for double the next day on eBay.
They are already releasing a different colour way, so the new casiotron probably won't be as limited as it first appears

I wish it was sapphire. But my Full Metal Square cost me almost the same and also has a mineral crystal. I can’t wait to get mine.
I just got mine today, it's a bit smaller than I excepted, but the quality is surprisingly good! Still available, but isn't so easy to get one ;-)

You're lucky, the ca53 in Europe has an official price of 50 Euro, which is about $54, so less than 10 ca53 you could buy over here 😢
If you are the type of person that would spend 500 on a metal square then this is definitely better value but I am not one of those people.

Oh the LED fading backlight, I think that's on the A1000 series too.

No they have the same white / blue light but not a fade in and out like the trn50. They just come on as long as you hold it for the A1000 , they also have a clear point on the top left where the bulb is where as this one has an even spread like the old EL and dims and fades out -much clearer
Awesome looking watch. I don't usually like digital, but I like this (pity it's sold out, mind you I've spent the 2024 watch budget already😖). Maybe you can't put solar under sapphire so that's why it's mineral????. Great watch, great video, cheers.
This is a great point, I thought that may be it so I checked. There is solar on the high end squares with sapphire I believe.

The GMW-B5000's have the same fade-on/off LED.
I have that exact watch as you saw in the upload, but they do behave differently or at least I noticed it in the Casiotron and not on the metal square. Maybe there is a split second longer delay on the Casiotron?
@@CasualWatchReviews maybe they slowed/extended the fade. To me it was never a real selling point on the B5000's, I've got another square without the fade, and I don't miss it, but lots of folks really like it.

Love Casio, but for me this is way over priced for what you get.

500 bucks should have come with sapphire crystal and full titanium construction, as well as a better backlight. And it still would have been a shittier deal than most G-Shocks.
