Dont end the series!!! There are so many more elite hunters that put some of the guys you featured to shame.

Mark, your explanation at the beginning of this video was great! You're exactly right. Standards of people with taking a trophy deer every year has been set to high. Just get out there and have fun and enjoy being in the woods. Thank you for stating that.

Been waiting on this one. To see someone as young as Andy with such wisdom is refreshing. There are good hunters that are not so good humans.... Andy has a great outlook on life and all of us would do well to listen.

Great question, Mark. Great answer, Andy. Love this page! Good luck all this hunting season

I realized Andy May basically spoke what I feel and think about when I'm in the field on planning my next outing.

Thank you for doing this - I have been taking notes and reading them to my wife. She is the brains of the operation and goes scouting with me whenever she can. Thanks again for the quality interviews of very successful hunters.

Blessed man. Been with my wife for 6 years and she's been hunting with me twice lol. She said shes gonna try and go again this year with her crossbow

@@chancecarter276 I initially asked her to come with me scouting so I could get her perspective when I was struggling between a couple spots. Asking her to come scouting was probably the key to getting her involved more. My wife looks at scouting like solving a massive puzzle. I hunt Wisconsin public land and some of the county forests are huge, so having a second set of eyes really helps. Good luck this fall.

Tuned in at the end of the series but plan on walking them back. Really enjoyed your chat with Andy and appreciate your opening thoughts and comments.

Any, even Levi Morgan admitted he punched the crap out of an index finger release in a hunting video he did using a Mathews switchback to shoot a deer. That style is the easiest to whack.

If I am not inspired, I just don't do it. This applies to all aspects of my life. Meaning/purpose or bust! If my hunting was simply about killing deer, I would get bored really quick. I want to find new challenges, learn, adjust, grow, and ultimately become a better deer hunter, thereby becoming a better person. Bowhunting whitetail deer makes me sharper and tougher physically, emotionally, and spiritually, translating into all areas of my life. At 53 years old, I am in the best shape of my life in all aspects of my life. Hunting is just 1 aspect of my life. I value hunting too much sometimes. Be patient and prioritize important aspects of life like family, finance, education, friends, health, career, etc. I'm not interested in people saying at my funeral, look at all those big bucks on the wall. Tap into the inner voice and do what matters. Mindset matters!

Well said!! I am with you all the way. I’m 50 now, and wish I could say I’ve always thought this way. In my younger days, I watched my family sacrifice to a sport that owned me. Not anymore and never again. Don’t get me wrong, I still love chasing deer but it’s all about balance.

I shot target archery for years tens of thousands of arrows while bow hunting every Fall. One day it dawned on me that I’ve got my execution dialed in so well with true back tension not rolling hinge, why don’t I hunt that way. I always thought my execution would take too much time in the moment of truth with my hinge but it has really helped me with better shot selection and execution in the moment of truth by hunting with my hinge.
