A true 4-5 channel setup can be rather challenging, while BlackVue does not have a setup like this, BlackVue is still an ideal option for a setup similar to this, running 2 seperate 2-channel cameras for a 4-channel! For an example of what this would look like, here's Vortex Radar's great video: th-cam.com/video/gSFxqHrF2Ro/w-d-xo.html
Here is hoping the operating temp is true. When you guys did the heat test on their dashcams, it would thermal protect if above 60 despite their operating temp listed as higher.
I plan to hardwire to the car battery. Is it possible to toggle parking mode off easily? For example, I don't typically drive my car Thursday-Sunday since we do everything in the wife's car on the weekend. My car will sit in the garage. Can I toggle it off so it doesn't drain the car battery?
It wont drain the battery. Once the battery drops below a certain voltage (I think 11.8v), the camera will turn off automatically. Even if the car battery voltage doesnt drop that low, the dash cam usually turns off after maybe 48 hours or so.
Apologies for that mistake. Our intention was to convey that the image quality is basically the same between these two units, but the cameras themselves are different models. The 750X uses the RC100F while the DR770X uses the RC110F
So I recently purchased a 770 X dash cam two channel. Do I need a separate box to record on parking mode or do I just use the hardwire kit without the battery pack
You just need a hardwire kit to wire to the fusebox. This will draw power from the vehicles battery when turned off. A dedicated battery pack will provide much longer parking mode and other benefits.
What service provider would you recommend and what does it approximately cost? I was thinking about mint is the cheapest at 30$ a month for unlimited. And t mobile is 60$. This doesn’t include all the taxes and fcc fee.
Can't say we have any experience with Mint cards, but T-Mobile does have a solid track record of working with these cameras. For more information on what card to get, check out our page here: support.blackboxmycar.com/en-US/what-type-of-sim-card-should-i-ask-for-to-use-with-my-black-vue-lte-model-module-220391
You can simply use the built-in wifi of the camera to access footage on your phone when nearby the camera. If you'd like to connect to the camera while you're miles away from the vehicle, then you'll need a dedicated wifi service for the camera to latch onto, like a SIM card. This is referred to as the cloud, and if you're more curious about what that involves, check out our video here: th-cam.com/video/vWF_gS30PBM/w-d-xo.html
Im sorry but wifi and bluetooth are different things, if im in the middle of nowhere and no ph reception or wifi, can i still access the footage via the app on my phone???? Ie bluetooth?
Since the wifi from the camera is not true wifi, you can be in the back country with 0 cell reception and it will still work fine. You will have to be in-range of the vehicle for this. The bluetooth component only helps with the pairing process, it doesn't do any of the heavy lifting itself.
Thank you so much for doing this review! Just a couple questions: Will the dashcam record while the car is running and the battery pack is at 0% charge? Is there a way to turn parking mode on and off on the battery pack or on the phone app to conserve battery like when parked in a home garage?
No problem, glad you liked the review! Yes, once the car starts running, it will charge both the battery and camera at the same time! With that being said, it may take a few moments for the battery to wake back up if it's been fully drained. You can turn parking mode off on the phone app for the camera, through the settings, but I imagine it'll be slightly tedious to do every single time you park in your garage. What's easier is flipping the on/off switch on the battery, just install it in a location that the switch is accessible and flip it when you park at home. Still, rest assured the battery pack is designed to be fully drained, so it shouldn't be too much of a concern.
Do you need to buy the battery pack if you want surveillance mode while away from your car to detect impact or motion or can you just use your car battery? Thanks.
You can definitely just use the car battery! With that being said, the length of parking mode would then depend on your car battery, and a battery pack would result in much longer parking mode.
Totally, the BlackVue can easily slide out of the cylindrical mount. with a button on the mount to "unlock" the unit. If you were to swap between 2 vehicles, I recommend buying 2 separate mounts, and 2 separate power cables, leaving those in each vehicle.
QUESTION: Looking for a pair of dash cameras that will be on 24/7 (with additional power supply) and will transmit video/audio via wifi to my PC, saving video 24/7, while vehicle is parked in driveway. Not looking for cloud storage or a monthly fee. Thoughts, please?
Hi there. Sounds like you're more interested in a remote, dedicated server rather than the cloud. At that point, things are going to get complicated, though possible. The loud is a good baseline or starting point for what you're looking for, but there's no way around having to do some actually coding/tampering for this. I've seen a few users do this through custom github scripts and raspberry pi's, though I can't speak from personal experience. Here's a good place to start: github.com/steve192/dashcam-transporter
I notice that the GPS co-ordinates and vehicle registration didn't show whilst recording. Is this not modelled in the 770X-2CH (or can it be enabled in any settings) (UK based)
The GPS co-ordinates should work for this model, at least as we've tested it here in North America. I don't know about the vehicle registration. It's possible there's an issue with your GPS so consider updating the firmware and contacting the seller of your unit.
Please help... Quick question I have the 750 dual channel LTE.. I also hard-wired the B130 ultra battery pack.. It was working well but now the battery does not charge. It constantly says on 1% battery.. Why is this?
Sorry to hear that, it's possible that the battery is not charging properly, does the application show input voltage? If it does not, please try powering the battery with both the hardwire kit and cigarette lighter adapter
Putting a cloud on Joseph & having him ride a horse made me laugh for some reason 2:50 I still hit my 900xplus some times cause I forget I can do that lol
Hi Joseph, while you can adjust the angle of the front camera, can you do so for the rear camera after I stick it to the holder on the rear windscreen? It doesn’t seem to rotate unlike the front when there are tactile “clicks” to indicate that you have rotated it
Yes, I can confirm you can rotate the rear camera too! You're right that there aren't tactile clicks to lock it in place in the same way as the front one, but it can still be rotated a full 360 degrees vertically, and even pulled out of the mount. The rear camera just needs a bit of force to start, and it'll turn just fine!

Very sorry, but as a North American distributor, we don't have that kind of information on European SIM cards. I recommend reaching out to BlackVue directly at cs@pittasoft.com.
As the rear camera is placed on the windshield, the viewing angle isn't always the best for backing up, and the live-view over the phone can sometimes have 1-2 seconds delay making it not the most ideal for backing up.
It totally can through the cloud! You'll need a wifi source in the vehicle though, like a mobile hotspot or optional LTE module. You can even talk through the model like a phone call if you want.
While I have yet to encounter a situations where this happens, window tint film may contain metal elements or other materials that can block or weaken GPS signals, leading to inaccurate positioning information or difficulty in acquiring a strong GPS signal.
