Just completed the break-in period and so far the unit is operating perfectly th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y . I was amazed by just how quiet this little guy is. I kept having to walk down the driveway to the generator to make sure it was still running. In fact, the most annoying noise coming from the set-up is a high-pitched chirping coming from the pressure regulator on the propane line. I suppose it's possible my other propane-powered generator's pressure regulator is making the same noise, but the generator itself is so loud I've never noticed it. Build quality so far is excellent. My only nit is the service panel is a little tricky to remove. I feel like I might break off one of the plastic tabs when bending it back. I probably just need to work out the technique, so will not hold it against Champion.Next week I intend to fully load the unit to charge a large battery pack and will update this review if there's any problem (3000W continuous load vs a rated 3100W capacity while using propane). Absent any trouble there, I'm 100% pleased with this purchase.

I am of two minds when it comes to building your own battery or purchasing one that is already built. In my van the battery I built is not a polished as any that can be purchased. But I customized it to my needs, researched, did a lot of guessing (educated ones) and nothing blew up, not even a hint of smoke. Is it perfect, heck no hahaha. A unit like this one makes my eyes twinkle, tongue salivate and all I have to do is plug it in. When it doesn’t work you have someone to call. My I call for support on my DIY, I seem to always get a busy single. Why, because I’m calling myself. All this to say, Bluetti’s unit looks and sounds very good. I would be happy to add it to my van, heck I need it here in the DR while I’m traveling. We do have a lot of power outages. Thanks for sharing this video and your insights. Good luck everyone.

Glad to hear your confidence in adding a buddy battery. I asked Bluetti service if I could add a LifePo4 to my AC200P and this is the reply from yesterday. "AC200P can be charged by external lead-acid battery or solar panel, but external lithium battery charging is not recommended, because different lithium batteries connected to AC200 may not be safe to use, there are hidden dangers, so we do not advocate."
I was really excited after watching your solutions to the older AC200 using the bike battery and imputing through the Aviation plug.
The ability to add extra capacity from a larger pack even at a reduce rate would be appealing. Hoping you have the solution

4 degrees tomorrow and could sure use this with a 1500W heater for the one day a year that my greenhouse heat requirements exceed the 20amp circuit which drives two 1500w heaters and a fan to move the air around. Not to mention taking it on road trips to blow dry the puppies. UPDATE several days later. I'm in Texas. went a day and 1/2 with no power. 22degrees inside even with gas fireplace is a noticeable problem. Learned a lot. an off-grid back up plan is a must have. Medical equipment like CPAP, wheel Chairs need power to work... blow dry fuzzy puppies after a serious shat fest is a must have so 1500w blow dry is a necessity at below about 50 as they don't like sticking their butt in the fireplace....:-). never so happy has to have some consistency with rolling power starting to roll...

It still works but would like to replace it with a larger capacity unit like the Bluetti you demonstrated for our camp on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia Canada. We are about 1/2 mile from the nearest power pole so we use a 100watt solar panel to recharge the Powerit unit. We run all our led lights for the camp from this unit all spring summer and fall.

I love the cooling tunnel for the components that can overheat. That's a really good idea. The only improvment I can think of would be for them to neck it down at one end, then re-expand it at the other end. That should pump the speed of the air of the components, sucking away more heat.

    • @spirotagnw
      @spirotagnw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

problem is the faster the air moves less heat it can absorb, its a balancing act between speed and thermal dispersion

PCBs have long been a great choice for all kinds of "non-typical" purposes: they're made with high precision, have low setup/tooling costs, can be fairly large, can be visually attractive, are very strong, have good flame/fire resistance, don't melt when heated, their stiffness/flexibility can be varied as needed by changing the thickness, ..., and these days they're more affordable than ever.
Plus, a PCB that's essentially being used as a convenient source of printed fibre glass panels for some kind of housing/enclosure can of course easily have electronics added if you decide you want the enclosure to have some LEDs or a user interface!
So anyone who's been dismissing the idea of using PCBs to build battery packs - even several years ago - doesn't know what they're talking about, IMO! 😁
Oh and the AC200P looks pretty awesome, too! 😯😅

thanks for the awesome teardown. also, thank you for doing the initial teardown, it really looks like your feedback was listened to, and for the rest of us we definitely have a better product available in the market!

I have been happy with Bluetti products, I have one of their smaller units. This one looks to be able to run sump pumps and keep fridges going in the event of a power outage! Thanks for the video.

I watched your first video on the pre-production unit, now watched this one and put an order in for the unit with some solar panels. Need to watch your scooter battery video next, wish you just had the link here to buy from you WITH the connectors needed for this AC 200P in a package form... Thanks for all the information and taking this unit apart so we can see the inside before buying- greatly appreciated!

Talk about a complete review! Thank you for this. I am learning a lot about solar generators on TH-cam. Growing up we had propane powered generators but now I live in a high rise and that is no longer an option. Trying to make an informed decision as this would be an investment.

My family has been without power for most of this week. First it started with rolling black outages, then total of 60 hrs+ consecutively without power. I would love to win this!!!

Good review. It is very helpful to see the inside the AC200P without having to tear into a void the warranty of our $1999 solar generators. I'm looking forward to the extra battery backup video.

I was going to DYI a rig, but lost my job due to covid, so that will have to wait for when better times come around! Great breakdown and comparison, Thanks!

First time here but, I have watched hundreds of these reviews/teardowns and yours is one of the best.
I am not sure how much of what you highlight will be what I seek, and it is late, but I will see you tomorrow for more vids.
Thanks again for the info! Be well

Would love this to my Astronomy setup. Thos quiet times under the stars don't usually include AC power.

We needed the AC200P during the hard freeze in Texas several weeks ago when our power was taken down for six days.
