@PythonSelkanHD what I'd have liked is to visit these areas then get pushed down the path to the new areas for reasons (like how the audio said those towers collapsed)
I remember buying my PS3 and getting MGS4 as my first game. I remember sitting in the car and looking at the MGS4 case non-stop all the way back home. I played this game non-stop and I still have the case with the CD inside it. It was a privilege to have played every MGS game on every PlayStation. Never been so emotionally attached to a game series as much as this and I’m 25 now. I still occasionally watch MGS cutscenes and just reminisce on such a great story telling and such an amazing way to understand every characters perspective and develop emotional attachments to them. It’s been a privilege ‘Salute to Snake and Big Boss with the MGS music in the background” Btw I’m not crying, your crying
@@mohammedrezwan620 Same I’m around the same age maybe a little older 30 actually. But I remember watching my brother play the first one on PlayStation one and then I watched him play sons of liberty and I went back and played both of those myself then I bought my brother snake eater for Christmas but ended up opening it and playing it and completing it before giving it to him and he actually never ended up playing it.
Wow. I did the exact same thing. I was looking at the case of the game for the entire ride home. Except I was 19 going on 20 at the time. I'm 7 years older than you, and I was just as captivated by the series.
Old Snakes worn out voice always hits me hard....we're all on that path in life. Creating our own legend for others to talk about for ages. Thank you David Hayter for voicing one of the most iconic heros of our generation.
MGS4 was ridiculous and also my favourite in the series. No other game, or film for that matter, had me on the edge of my seat quite like this game. I was close to tears when the first set of credits rolled up.
Wow that's cool, man. Thanks for sharing. Yeah revisiting Shadow Moses was quite an experience... it felt surreal. And now we're in 2021 and MGS4 is even older than MGS1 was to us back then. Hard to believe, isn't it?
If you're still hoping for a visit to Shadow moses, you're kinda missing the point of this scene, nothing will ever compare to your old memory, no amount of easter eggs, throwbacks, pretty graphics can recreate your original experience of Shadow Moses simply because it has already happened. That was the point of MGS 4. No use dwelling on the past, much more important things to do.
Seeing all these clips from MGS4 made me feel old. I'm only 25 but having gotten older and it being a while since I last played MGS4. I can kinda start to relate with Snake and how he must have felt going through Shadow Moses again after so long. You never really grasp the passage of time until you return to a place or rewatch something from long ago and then it hits you just how much time has passed and how you have gotten older.
this installment will forever be my favorite. yes even like this one over 3. but im telling you i play this game to this day and i even have my launch edition of this game along with the collectors edition book. miss metal gear games
I know people like MGS4, but, I think the reason they cut this part is because the room where you fought Mantis would have included audio of him talking about his past and helping you at the end, but later in the game they made Mantis evil and want revenge by possessing Screaming Mantis and joking about the PS3 not having memory cards.
I would've loved for those scenes and dialogue to be added in the final edition of MGS4. Makes me sad that it wasn't included but the fact that this hidden dialogue was discovered after all these years makes me happy. I always said MGS 4 still remains as my all time favorite MGS game because the execution of the nostalgic memories were done perfectly especially the Shadow Moses area. 💖
Something magical about returning toMGS4 Shadow Moses Island and having played MGS when it fist came out, that no other game will ever come close to. It gives a feeling like you can feel everything Snake was feeling, they did a great job there. I feel like I was there in the game with Snake and talking about an old war...
Mgs4 was my first introduction to the series when I was younger back in 2009 or 2010 and my uncle introduced me to the series so when I was able to pick up the game on ps now I kinda cried because my uncle pasted away back in july 2020 so the mgs series is kind of a sentimental reminder of him for me

Gotta say, really a big fan of you guys voicing now. Kinda wish you’d even redo some of your older videos that just had text. But I understand that would be a lot of work to release something that you’ve already done
It sounds like these were going to be added in, while still keeping the new locations, it would be something that you can get side tracked to. Which, I can see why they would remove it from the game, seeing as there's nothing there at all now, it's not required to go there like the floor two with Otacon's lab, but at the same time, I could see players getting rewarded for exploring the area with a free gun like a lot of other places in the game does.
Love your videos Python. Really! MGS concepts and content explained in depth I really just eat up like Candy. Some of this stuff I’m like.. where did this guy find this? Kudos man. “Kept us waiting”
I am a fan of the voice over work. Glad to see this included in new videos. Keep up the good work Python. The worlds need more Kojimanites passing down these stories.
Prob cause Kojima wanted to main focus on the story objective paths easier and specially new ( now old ) MGS players wouldn’t get confused to heading for the next objective prob
@@RafaelPereira-dc9ir That's the point of the codec calls, Otacon is re-directing Snake to the proper area. Also it gives newer players more backstory between Snake and Meryl. Besides, this game is to wrap up the Solid Snake saga. Why would anyone start with 4 being their first game? They wouldn't have a clue what is happening.
When I got my PS1 it came with a demo CD with various demos on it. One of the demos on the CD was MGS1. I was hooked since then. When I bought MGS4… I fell in love with this game! Eye patch, MK2, Camouflage suit, tranquilizer gun that can make you laugh, cry, sleep, and make you mad! Genius and a Masterpiece game!
After MGS3, MGS4 is my all time favorite game. I don't understand the hate this game gets. Funny enough the same people thinks MGSV is a good MGS game lol.
Walking down that hill and into the heli pad created waves of nostalgia. 11 year old me went nuts inside my head when playing that mission in MGS4. My favourite game in the MGS series will always be Snake Eater (well, come to think of it, that's my favourite game of all time) , but Shadow Moses Island is the best environment the series has even been in. Everything about it was perfect for the way the game was designed and played. That game was PS1 perfection. I still have my original copy, it is literally a treasure in my game collection.
My parents gave us the PS3 as our "last" christmas gift, so the day we get it i literally pick my savings and run to the nearest blockbuster and get this game... Man i had avoided spoilers and message boards so i wouldnt get spoiled. Needless to say this was an incredible experience, even though i found some story bits were weird (and was veey young to understand or see their depth, which im still learning and looking at with different perspectives), i love this game. I finished it at least 20 times, one after another lol.
The fact that we got to be at Shadow Moses again was brilliant. Looking back at it now, thinking we essentially got our Metal Gear Solid 1 "next gen" remake for the most part at that time too. A total package.
I would LOVE that deleted scene was added in the game. Just heating snake talking about the past of what he had to go through than the short cut. Especially the game that started it all of the franchise.
Imagine if the Otacon ending in MGS1 where Meryl really died was the canon ending. The deleted Codec convo with Otacon and Solid Snake in the Ladies Bathroom would've hit different 🥲
How is this game underated? It had glowing reviews and it sold more than any other in the series (or is in top 3). This game is rated just as it should.
Came here after the rumours of MGS 3 remake from Konami and Virtous . Let's hope that is true and marks the beggining of the rebirth. This masterpieces deserves it. A part of my life without a doubt.
my first experience with MGS4 was watching it, it was a great story (if a little convoluted in areas), and was a great send off to a character I had at the time a small connection to. After finally getting a PS3, I could play MGS1 for the first time and then tackle MGS4 to see how the bridge between MGS3, MGS PW and MGSV looked, as each plays out pretty differently. Instead I found a game that perfectly meshed the sneaking from MGS3 and combat of MGSV to make a game that truly felt like you could go at each mission in any way you wanted. The game isn't perfect, but I think it's the game that I fall in love with again every time I replay. As for these new scenes and areas they were thinking of adding, I do think it was necessary to remove in favor of the newer areas. If someone didn't play MGS1, the reminiscing at that point might've been too much for them (although most of the game is flashing back to older titles). I also think it would've been a bit repetitive, most of the section is reminiscing over the old place and events from MGS1, so a new section that adds some new is overall a better experience. Still, it's nice to hear more of what Snake and Otacon would have felt and said if they did go through that part of Shadow Moses.
I’m curios if we could’ve get the Nikita missile launcher in the B2 and Donald s ( SIGNIT ) rotten remains in the torture room of the Tank hangar area if we could’ve use the elevator ? Also in the nuclear storage if we could’ve go to the B1 floor we could’ve face up 2 Gecko s cause they came from B1 area to fight in B2 and 1st floor
In the last salvages codec conversation i kinda hoped to hear any remarks on Snake and Meryl's relationship after MGS 1. It is concidered canon, since there is mentioned that Snake have been, but left Meryl to continue fighting metal gears.
This scene would've been great to have Snake further expound on one of his regrets being emotionally removing himself from Meryl. H ereally cared about her in MGS and for that to not have further exploration in MGS4 was a missed opportunity.
There are few gaming moments for me that hit quite like the first moment I got to spend controlling Rex. That was pure ecstacy! Of course I would have loved more content and scenes included in this movie, ah, I mean game. ;) but I still give a 10/10 anyway. As for this video PythonSelkan, You're Pretty Good!
I Wonder now that we can play it on the PC, we could perhaps change our coordinates to teleport Snake into b1? Thinking about that it doesnt sound impossible. Only if there is something to teleport to
Actually the main reason was because they were running short of time which interfered with properly implementing more aspects of the maps. Yes the maps were supposed to be more sprawling and bigger. but Kojima and his Head Programmer said we have to focus on patching the bugs vs adding more content. Kojima was professional and agreed. so it was just a matter of releasing the game on time and in top playable shape. They had to sacrifice many things despite the amount of content that did make it. Typical things creators face when meeting dead lines and creativity clashing.
That should have been put in the game along with everything that was already provided that would have made it judt that much more emotional. I remember playing that level for the first time really hit me hard as I literally grew up playing the original metal gear for Playstation one. I still believe that was the best game ever made period
This was awesome i really enjoyed it, MGS1 will always be my favourite game from metal gear series, i wanted to go everywhere on shadow moses when i first played MGS4 and seeing they were going to put some more classic locations in but decided not to go with it is a little disheartening tbh, i dont think it would have taken away from MGS4 story at all to include more nostalgic little moments
I had this game before they added the trophies in through an update, anyway I had beaten the game on the boss extreme difficulty and beaten it under 4 hours, no kills, never seen and gotten the best emblem and two days later my brother unplugged the while it was shutting down and lost all my data so it was gone after having to do that stupid bike chase over again and again, I was pissed.
I'll admit, even though I like MGS4, I never truly appreciated it when it first came out as much as I do now. There are still some creative choices I'm not overjoyed about but it's definitely the most emotional MGS game for me and in the advent of TPP MGS4 in comparison to the former is a masterpiece.

You should listen to mantises flashback dialogue, it’s pretty awesome
That should have been put in the game along with everything that was already provided that would have made it judt that much more emotional. I remember playing that level for the first time really hit me hard as I literally grew up playing the original metal gear for Playstation one. I still believe that was the best game ever made period
It has been longer since MGS4 released from now, than it was when MGS released to MGS4.
Amazing stuff!
the dream Snake had in the helicopter on the way there. Yeah.... realy happy I played MGS4.
This was awesome i really enjoyed it, MGS1 will always be my favourite game from metal gear series, i wanted to go everywhere on shadow moses when i first played MGS4 and seeing they were going to put some more classic locations in but decided not to go with it is a little disheartening tbh, i dont think it would have taken away from MGS4 story at all to include more nostalgic little moments
this is good isnt it...
It's not just snake that age in mgs4, all of us
I had this game before they added the trophies in through an update, anyway I had beaten the game on the boss extreme difficulty and beaten it under 4 hours, no kills, never seen and gotten the best emblem and two days later my brother unplugged the while it was shutting down and lost all my data so it was gone after having to do that stupid bike chase over again and again, I was pissed.
That damn music...
Its genuinely amazing what they pulled off with 512mb of ram
I'll admit, even though I like MGS4, I never truly appreciated it when it first came out as much as I do now. There are still some creative choices I'm not overjoyed about but it's definitely the most emotional MGS game for me and in the advent of TPP MGS4 in comparison to the former is a masterpiece.
No matter what, this epic title needs to be remake. The whole series.
