    A great video on how to use the unit as a TOOL. I agree with you - this is not the solution to reaching the lost with the Gospel but it is a nice addition to the toolbox.

    This is really cool. During COVID when we were pre-recording, so we were able to record to the device we used the Wiral with a gimbal and a phone and it worked pretty well. I haven’t used it since going live again, but now I’m thinking about bringing it back..

    Hi, I was joking with the worship team and I told them: the next thing I'm going to put will be a camera that goes around the church, and I searched and found this article and I see that it works and it works very well, thanks for sharing.

    I literally just did the exact same setup based on this video and everything worked great and looks great. For me the gimbal was the trickiest part to get going probably because I have no experience with one. Specifically going inverted. Only thing I didn’t add only because o wasn’t sure where to buy it was the extension pole.
    Thanks for the help 🙌🏾🙌🏾

    Great video, thanks ! I was thinking of applying it in an urban environment and also eliminate the need of finding trees or poles to tie it up on. My idea is that two people could climb on some elevated surfaces in the city and securely hold the two edges of the wire simultaneously with about 25m distance between them , while the camera runs. For the initial setup , one edge of the wire would be extended/carried to pointB mounted on a 3m insta360 stick (through thread ring or clip) above any people or vehicles passing by. One of the two people would remote control it to run on the wire in this case.What do you think ?

    I'm possibly going to open up a Pandora's Box here. If you are familiar with technologies like Raspberry Pi and Arduino, then would you venture to say that (with planning) there is opportunity to enhance the footage that can be gathered by using these technologies? There are projects involving use of IR (so they can imitate a remote), radio frequencies (they can imitate different kinds of remotes), and all sorts of other things. Theoretically, one could write Remote operations into programs and trigger these programs with a touch screen or mouse click to change the current operation of the camera shuttle or other peripherals. I don't even have one of these, and my mind is churning it now. LOL

    Possible to replace the wiral cam line? Like if you wanted to increase the payload in order to fly it over the crowd if you have no other options? Just thinking to hard bolt a steel cable the same gauge as the wiral cam line and boom - go from 3.3lbs to 20+ and not have as much to worry about...maybe you have to use the wiral cam line bc it's textured or grooved in order for the cam to move? Just curious. I can always reach out to wiralcam if no one knows =) Great video!

    Hi Ryland, thanks for that video.
    I want to ask, how much load are you attaching to the wiral ?? I mean including the extension pole, the gimbal, camera, lens and transmiter…
    Additionally, when you program a loop, when the wiral turns back, looks a hard shaking of the camera, how this impact on the footage ?? Does the gimbal smooth this shake ??

    • @RylandRussell
      @RylandRussell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d have to add it up again but it’s under the recommended weight. Our operators only go to the shot after it’s done with the stop on each end. Yes there is a shake at each end. Depends on how fast you are going.

    • @RylandRussell
      @RylandRussell  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will need to be straight. If something was causing a bend it would be touching the line and then stop the unit. Unless you had a guideline hung above the wiral line…..maybe

    Ryland, well done. Is there a way to set up the pan on the MOZA to be automatic, like a slider, to stay centered on a subject, reversing pan direction when the Wiral reverses?

    • @RylandRussell
      @RylandRussell  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wouldn’t that be a dream 😀. Some gimbals have active track but in my experience it didn’t work well in an environment like a worship service. Tried it with the osmo pocket. Other gimbals have to use a phone as the tracking device so that’s one more piece to worry about.

    • @Pics2FlicksDennis
      @Pics2FlicksDennis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RylandRussell , it’s been a while since I’ve used my AirCross 2, but if it has a hyperlapse mode, maybe you could approximate a pan/loop. Would take some time to get it synced with the Wiral, and you probably couldn’t maintain the sync.
      I’ve used the Osmo Pocket with my Wiral, and have always found the wireless performance (through the wireless adapter) to be problematic. Bought a wireless extender, and never could get that to work, either. Plus, the video quality is average, at best.I really want to “fly” one of my Canon EOS R’s, but the AirCross 2 can only handle a very light lens (none of my L glass), like the 10-18, or a pancake lens, like you employ.

      In our church we are working on a project where we take a motorized konova p1 slider and extend it to 9m (30feet). The slider should pan automatically to stay centered at all time. We're not done but this could be an answer to what you describe. + everything would be wired / no batteries and no wireless connections.

      @@josua2517 have you managed to get motorised slider to work well ?

    • @josua2517
      @josua2517 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kedoya88 It's 90% there, we've used it for one service, the moving shot is beautiful but the whole thing is not volunteer friendly yet. Some issues with the length of the CAT cable that connects to the controller since the battery is on the controller side and not an the motor side - since the cable is way longer it looses a lot of voltage before hitting the motor. It would be better to have a wireless remote and have the battery or power source closer to the motor, we're thinking about changing the motor kit.

    Wondering about how one would control zoom and focus from a setup like this? Is there a way to do it from a gimbal itself? I know the crazy $40,000 setups offer RC remotes with iris, zoom, etc, but if you're trying to do this on a budget, is there a makeshift way to do it? Wireless follow focus? LANC?
