Thank you for the great video! A talented man like you showing to the world the "behind the scenes" kinda thing of one of your massive tunes is just a pleasure to watch. And it did help me a bit as a producer. I have way too many ideas in my head and never knew the basic structure of a trance tune. You helped me in that department. Thanks a lot! Keep doing what you do best.
Hey James, really huge thanks for all things You do for young future trance producers. I have huge respect for You not only for music that are you creating but also for giving us your tutorials, it is really helpfull for our progress. You really have this music in heart and You really helps to keep it alive. I learned a lot of things watching your tutorials. It is true that every producer must learn many things on his own, but in my opinion tutorials like yours can help us to learn some of different things, some tricks, it inspire us, sometimes I am more creative after watching your tutorials (some of them I watched not once) ;) So huge thanks and really big respect for producers like You, it belongs to You! ;)
James.... your new Aly & Fila Remix is really amazing! Tune of the year candidate for sure!!!! I'm simply speechless over that Remix. Just unreal mate....
Dude all you have done is layered frequencies and tones beautifully all with common sense!! Congratulations man this a very well made track!! Take a pat on back dude!! You nailed it! 🙌🙌🎼😍
Damn you're a genius! This track's been one of my all time favorites since it was released. I've been producing also for a while now myself, having learned from both of your uplifting courses on Sonic Academy. My sound's improved heaps with the knowledge acquired from them. Now I'm just enjoying getting creative with all the new techniques and trying to acchive that clean professional sound.
Great tutorial, James, thank you. Plenty for me to think about in terms of layering sounds. I was surprised how simply you eq'd everything. Very helpful :-)
Thanks for that, great video, slightly demoralizing though... I cant imagine I'd ever be able to know what to put next or what would sound good to follow a certain pattern... Like how many layers man!!!
Thanks James - love your stuff! :) Out interest how did you get into music production and how did you learn how to do all this? Do you have a music theory background? Its something id love to get into but wonder if it would be possible without the music knowledge. Also - how do you come about with the track? Is it just a case of sitting down and trying some riffs (like you would on a guitar) and see what works? Or do you have an idea for a tune upfront? I guess this is where raw talent plays a big part! :) Keep on making those tunes man! :)
Damn, sounds very good like it wasn't even made in Fl Studio. Also the music isn't too sharp or loud for your ears which is very good because I am very bad at mastering.
HEY JAMES DYMOND CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO OF HOW TO MAKE A BASSLINE TRANCE JUTS LIKE THE ONE ON THIS VIDEO BUT I JUST WANNA KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE BASSLINE PLEASE
You mentioned that you like to add movement to your basslines by having each midbass play a different MIDI pattern. How do you decide what the pattern looks like in the first place? Is there a certain logic to the way you add notes or are you mainly just playing around until everything sounds full? Anyway, thanks a lot for the really helpful tutorial, mate! Your music is amazing! :)
THANKS! You posted in your last video that you are moving from FL to Cubase 7.5. Is this true!? :o You should keep with FL. You rock at it mate and your mixes sounds truly HD and amazing... Thanks for the voiceover and for showing your processing this time... :)
Really good. А small request. Can you share zip file of some old project. Need for teaching and testing. I not sure in power of my processor i7 4770k. One time use a lot of "pro-q" and my computer scary braked))))))) Maybe i used too much)
thanks james!awesome job!youre a good teacher jeje!i ´ve two last questions for you...i´ve seen that in the master channel you have activated some plugins like fab filters and the oxford limitator....you start all your proyects with that master chain?and the second one...the spectrum analyzer...its a must for all electronic music?or its optionaly and with the fabfilter its enought?thanks again and good work =)
Fab Filter EQ on the master just to brighten up the entire mix a bit, and the limiter is just to boost the volume for the sake of recording this video. Would remove the limiter for mastering. Spectrum analyzer is good to get an overall look of the frequencies of the mix - making sure all the sounds are level. I wouldn't say it's necessary, but a good tool to use :)
thanks for the video james, i see in your project that you route the kick and the subbass to 1 channel, is this to compress them together and some eq? and also, if you start your project with the kick, on what volume do you have it compared with the subbass? thank you
Yep, kick/mid bass/sub bass all routed to a 'Kick & Bass bus'. Which I then apply compression & eq - I didn't show it in this video as it was a bit too much to go into. Sub bass is usually around 2-3db quieter than the kick - but it really depends on the sounds and how they work together. Sometimes lower, sometimes higher - play it by ear :)
I've always wanted to know how to make a track as loud as possible without clipping and puting whatever to the master bus or doing the final mastering. What should I do on the separate channels to get the volume up and at the same time don't overcompress the whole song?
The individual channel volumes should be low, so they are not clipping. And to make sure the master channel doesn't clip either. If it is, either turn down all the mixer channel volumes or turn down the master volume. To get a track as loud is to do with mastering, not mixing down :)
One of the best tracks of James!
Really masterpiece!🙏
10 bass devices in total - dude you blew me up ! I get how much it takes to sound that good !

Damn, man ! What kind of PC monster do you have ? And the CPU is running at 50 %. Thanks for showing us !
Check video description... :P
James Dymond What about the soundcard / Audio Interface James? any special recommendation?
Ricardo Ceron
Soundcard is the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB, it's not amazing but defo the best in the field for the price range imo :)
James has like 7 basses layered together and I'm here with my one-bass and sub line like: Yeah this should do it.
Thanks Bud !!
Great !
So pure and quality sound OMG! TRANCE 4eVer From Ukraine!!!
THANKS! You posted in your last video that you are moving from FL to Cubase 7.5. Is this true!? :o You should keep with FL. You rock at it mate and your mixes sounds truly HD and amazing... Thanks for the voiceover and for showing your processing this time... :)
That's not true. Maybe he tried to use it a little. However, now he remains on the FL.
If it's true you are moving from FL to Cubase I want to see tutorials! I am a hard core Cubase fan and I'd love to see a trance tutorial on Cubase!
He is still on FL Studio. You had fake info 'bout James.
very nice thanks bro :)
AMAZING! Thanks! I have two questions. Don't you use send fx?! And have you any vsti on the master chanel?
Really good. А small request. Can you share zip file of some old project. Need for teaching and testing. I not sure in power of my processor i7 4770k. One time use a lot of "pro-q" and my computer scary braked))))))) Maybe i used too much)

Very good! :)
HI. I wanted to ask you about the several Leads and which type if it's possible i mean the presets if you don't mind absolutely :)

You are my number 1! but please help us ,any top 10 Vst for you ?
I make my work in Logic and Cubase Thank you!?
thanks for the video james, i see in your project that you route the kick and the subbass to 1 channel, is this to compress them together and some eq?

James Dymond thank you for the reply james, appreciate it
Hey James how much ram memory and which kind of cpu u use??? im using i5 quad and 8 gb ram and sometimes my cpu goes 100% xDDD
What's your processor and how much ram do you have?
nice =)

Thank you very much for your fast reply James! :) I should do that then.
fly
Just one thing: you made the sweeps and riser effects yourself, or find a sample and use it?
He just find the samples and use it.
What VST did you use for bassline of this track?
+Mezzo Forte I imagine spire or sylenth
what sidechain u use??
Hi James! how many tracks does this project contains if may ask? did you processed alot of midichannels into audio to keep your cpu away from spiking?
He used 61 tracks for this track, in case you're still wondering.
I dont bellieve, this was done in FLstudio? WOW
Why dont you believe it? Its just a program, the user is the one who makes the music. I also produce trance in FL Studio, if you want to check it out
@@MaxBraiman where have you been? I hope you are doing great.
🖤👍👍👍🖤
I guess, voice is from omnisphere?
