    Could literally wait a few months for a similar sight in Illinois for Spring, but it's winter and I needed something to remind me the corn season is coming. Empty corn fields outside my window right now.

    One thing I like about videos from the true cornbelt..........clean fields.
    No weeds/grass like seen in some videos outside the corn belt.

    Cool fact about this farm they sold their 9360r because they didn’t like having an articulated tractor on their db90 and they bought a challenger 2 track and have had nothing but issues. They also traded there versatile for a 9570rx

    I love those combines!! Was wanting to get one next, but sadly our local new holland dealer has lost ab all their businesses here. Poor service and a don’t give a crap attitude unless you’re a huge farmer. Now they’ve lost all the huge farmers too.
    All my lineup is green now besides my combine which is a new holland tr 87. Everything my dad and I use to have was all blue. Wish it still was. Man I love their tractors, combines and was seriously thinking ab getting the biggest sprayer to start up a custom spraying business here, but they’ve never sold one and ain’t no way I’d chance that w their service dept
    Good vids mike

    Just came across this particular video. thanks for sharing. Just north of this land is the town of Rantoul, home of the old Chanute AFB (Decommissioned). My father was stationed at Chanute from Jan 1, 1972 thru Dec 30, 1974 and I went thru Chanute, as an Airman, going through Tech School, in 1984. I Can tell if the land looks totally familiar due to the fact that all fam land, with corn fields, begin to look alike. That being said, with the train going past it is evident that you are next to US-45, that parallels I-57. I watched many an Illinois Central Rail Road Train on this line, as a teenager. This puts you about 1.75 hrs south of Chicago.
    I wished I knew how far north of Urbana you were. Were you near Thomasboro? Ludlow, or even Rantoul?
    Again, thanks for sharing!

    Love the videos! Help us non farmers understand more! I'd like to know more about yields and what is done with those cut stalks and all the leftover husks the combine shoots out the back. Is there any recycle of that material into something else? How are the stubby cut stalks with those tires? Do they pose any puncture risks? Keep up the good work!

    • @lucpinsonneault5478
      @lucpinsonneault5478 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      nothing is done with the remaining lefover stalks as they get turned into nutrient for the earth the next year or tillage and seeded over again and again ... still need to add fertiliser to get good crops .
      for the stubby stalks yes theire is a puncture risk in tire in long term, but most of those header come with stalk stomper so they dont do damage to the tire.
      hope to have helped you

    • @stirv6462
      @stirv6462 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He probably dumps about 2000 times in a fall. Why bother pulling it in? There’s about 3000 lbs of grain in the tube while unloading which is more than the actual auger weighs, so when it’s empty the structure is stable and extremely over built. There’s zero risk of damage when the field is smooth as glass like this.

      Canadian National Owns the Old Illinois Central Railroad which runs to the Gulf of Mexico. Until recently they were the Only Canadian Railroad to have Access to The Gulf of Mexico. A couple of Months Ago, Canadian Pacific made a Offer to Purchase the Kansas City Southern Railroad, which goes all the way to Mexico. Which made sense for Canadian Pacific because Kansas City was the Furthest South that they could go inside of the US. When Canadian National found out that Kansas City Southern was Possibly For-Sale, they also put a Bid to Purchase it in, which was Ultimately Rejected, that was there isn’t a Monopoly by One Railroad and there is always a Additional Option. That and so that way One Railroad isn’t Trying to Maintain A LOT of Track, which would ultimately end up getting neglected when they can Spread Out that Trackage between 2 Railroads instead of One Railroad having a Monopoly in One Area over Rail Service.
