- WHEAT HARVEST 2020 near Burlington Oklahoma
My daughter and I took a trip to the Alva Oklahoma area to video some of the 2020 wheat harvest action and came across these guys cutting north of Burlington Oklahoma.
In this video is four John Deere S780 combines all with Deere 740 FD headers harvesting wheat. Also in the field is a John Deere 9570R pulling a Kinze 1500 grain cart on tracks hauling the grain from the field to the trucks.
Didn't get too talk with these guys much but they were from Princeton Missouri. It was quite windy on this day and even though I did have an external microphone on my camera with a wind sock/dead-cat some of the audio did not turn out as good as I hoped.
I still have several more wheat harvest videos from this area to edit and upload to my TH-cam channel.

When i was farming, I drove a JD MFWD 4850 pulling two 750 bushel Parker's gravity wagons. When I would be waiting in the middle of the field to pick up the combine, the owner/boss had me backing up both wagons for practice. Not easy to do but over my 12 years of doing it, I got much better. Some people are just one with the machine, sure do miss that 4850!

Another awesome video Mike!! Tell your daughter thank you as well. All the footage was great and the drone footage was spot on as always. Yes, that grain cart operator was definitely on point. He really did a great job of keeping up with 4 combines. Can't wait for more!!👍👍👍👍
One grain cart for 4 super efficient combines! The cart driver doesn't have time to play on his phone. 😆 Love the size of the unloading auger on the Kinize cart! Once again, another great video, makes me wish I was still farming 🚜 but I wouldn't know what to do with all the new high tech they have inside of the cabs!
The grain cart operator is my brother. He’s almost 30 years old and has been running the cart since he was a young kid. He’s the best at his job, overseeing everything, and making sure the entire crew is running efficiently! As a former combine driver for this crew myself, I can say that he sure makes it easy on everyone else! Meinke Custom Combining is a father and son operation with my father in the #1 combine.
Do custom harvesters use GPS and auto steer?

What is approximately the net yield in wheat? Total sales minus total costs? In Bu/Ac ?

Known those guy's since I was a kid, good to see this. I remember their Dad harvesting some of our crops a few years. Their Dad's first combine; what I remember, was a JD 6600.
Those machines literally run 6 months out of the year., they farm a ton of ground in N. MO and S. Iowa.

I noticed the numbers on the combines and I didn't see all four combines on screen for awhile. It made me think back on the school prank of turning loose 3 pigs in the school and numbering them "1, 2, & 4." The principal and teachers will search for No. 3 forever. No, I never pulled that prank, but bet some of your subscribers have heard of it or will try it. But pigs are expensive!! Great video Mike. Awesome coverage. Hope Andrea didn't choke on the dust too much catching some of those shots! Great looking equipment.

Four is four, 1, 2, 3, 4. One JD combine is opening the field and is ahead, the other three are lacking behind a bit and in kind of a row and little bit behind echother. Great video by you and your daughter. Love the sounds of all that power. It is about the closest thing to being there. The only thing that would have made this video better,.....is if they would have let you and your daughter run the combines and grain cart for a while.

The cart op must be the grandpa to all the combine ops....he makes every move count and always got a trick up his sleeve for production...seen this bk home when grandpa went against grandson...grandpa was in his draws pouring swet still cutting when ac went out and grandson was complaining grandpa was working him to hard lol.

270° left = 90° right. I’m surprised I don’t see more combine and mower operators doing the 270 when they need a sharp turn. If there’s room, seems like the most efficient method. 👍🏼
actually most likely for safety as anything else. in dusty conditions it's difficult to see behind no matter how big and clean the mirrors are while backing, so making the 270* turn allows the operator to have the best opportunity to not hit other machinery ........ rarely see this when a single combine is running by itself due to no other machinery to have an accident with and it's quicker to back up a little and get right back to cutting.

I don't understand why combines aren't equipped with built in air compressors so that you can blow them off in the field if you need to.

Yes its Meinke. I would say its their tractor and cart.
It is Meinke’s tractor and grain cart. All equipment is theirs.

I was gonna say hogs but didnt really see and ruts...then I saw the small fenced in area right next to where its pushed down with cattle. Pretty safe to say they ate good for a day or so.
We've had high winds in the area it pushes the wheat down like that

No. They don't get near the rain to doing that. Most of this land is continuous wheat year after year. Most guys will start working this land shortly after the combines leave and get it ready to drill wheat in September. The after the wheat is up they graze cattle on the wheat from November -March. This is huge cattle country.
