  • Unplugging the battery and replugging it in seems to fix a lot of people's issues where the remote won't turn on. This is known as a "Hard Reset" (I would say that's what she said but idk if that works...). ANYWAYS give that at your own risk and be sure to follow all the steps to avoid breaking anything.
    A potential battery replacement could be found below. NOTE I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS NOR HAVE NO CONFIRMATION THIS WILL WORK FOR SURE. The specs and images appear to all line up though:

    Excellent video with clear instructions. I watched one by another person that only had music so it had very limited value. Yours allowed me to successfully take it apart and reset by plugging the battery. THANK YOU!

    Great video! Showed me exactly how to get inside the controller. Unplugged the battery for 30 seconds, plugged back in and now the controller works!! Thanks!!

    Thanks, Controller had been unused for over 3 years without charging etc..was getting one single white flashing light when charging, would not indicate as charged. Pulled apart as shown, disconnected the battery for just under 10seconds, put back together. Plugged in the charger and showed fully charged Bingo! Pitty didn't have the same luck with my 5 Drone batteries. Couldn't get any of them to charge again.

    Thanks for the video - Ran through and replaced the battery. Now charging and RC holds charge and syncs with the drone. Issue now is camera always showing as disconnected, phone charges from RC usb but it seems there is no signal. tried various phones and usb cables all the same. I can only assume the ribbon cable is stuffed asthat is the only thing that connects battery and other boards the board with the usb.

    There is a balance board in the battery, some batteries fail to to a bad order even though the battery still holds good voltage. Replace battery and all will be well.

    I’m having the exact same problem as you with my Phantom 34K remote with one minor difference.
    My remote will not turn on unless I have the charger cable connected then it will turn on. But then I can remove the charger cable and it will still turn on for awhile then it quits again. I’m almost sure this is a bad battery because even when I get it working temporarily it doesn’t hold charge long at all

    Good video man. I take apart a lot of these radios and make some very inexpensive improvements to them. If you’d like to hear about them let me know. Thx again.

      Really just want to know how to fix this issue with it not turning on. The battery had a charge. I haven't figured it out yet.

    Hey man, this worked. I am a bit scared of how good the ribbon is reattached and hope it does not pop off. When I had it apart the battery was at 8.2 volts and when I put it back together all the lights but one were on, showing an almost full battery. I then put it on the charger and it is going through all the normal charging procedures to top the battery up. No flashing red lights and annoying beeps so far. If it happens again I am going to cut a hole where the battery unhooks and tape the battery on the outside so it can easily be unhooked so I do not ruin the ribbon by handling too much.

    Thanks very much hard resetting by disconnecting the battery solved a charging issue I was having where a red light flashed and the remote beeped.

      did you do anything else? or just unplug the battery and plug it back in. i have got the same issue with the red light and beeping.

  • @mdepollo
    @mdepollo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Unfortunately, this procedure did not solve my problem. Excellent video, relatively simple procedure.
    My problem, batteries charge fine, but not the controller.
    I have/had that 'deal' where when you plug in the power- charger to the controller, you have to 'rotate the plug' to a 'good spot' to get the controller to get jiuice. Seems I fixed that after doing this procedure, as I can now plug it in without having to rotate to the 'good spot'.
    I can only power up the controller with the charger plugged in. When it powers up, I get 1 sequence of the white lights lighting up individually, then all 4 are lit. The led to the left blinks red slowly (with NO beeping).
    When I attach the phone with USB, the phone does not see the controller (so no 'Camera' option shows in DJI Go app). USB cables are all GOOD.
    If I leave the controller on, while plugged in for long enough... it eventually begins the 'beep' cycle indicating that it has been idle for an extended period. And it shuts down on its own.
    If I unplug the charger from the controller... the controller immediately powers off; thus no battery charge.
    A replacement battery for the controller can not be found anywhere on any site.
    Was really hoping this was going to get this bird back in the air.. and really don't want to by a new controller.

    does this same method apply to a dji phantom 2 remote?

  • @toddbuhmiller
    @toddbuhmiller ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a video tip. Please don’t do it in direct sunlight, you are creating some terrible shadows. You would be better off to just do it in a well lit room. The camera is adjusting to the bright sunlight and makes it difficult to see anything in a shadow. I will see if this helps my controller.

    You should delete the earlier video where everyone breaks their ribbon cable. Just saying...'cause I did it.

    I just buyed i P3 4K and we test it on his phone and it works fine then i came home and can not logging on wifi. I have test resetting wifi but its dosent work. Do you think a hard reset will take the old password off to default 12341234?

    • @DominatorAVP
      @DominatorAVP  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a feeling it's the drone itself that needs to be reset. Since the tablet/phone will try to connect to the drone's access point to broadcast information like video. I'd hate for you to take apart everything and possibly void the warranty vs trying to reset the Phantom. You might also have to rebind the phantom after you reset it but this should be simple. I suggest trying this first before taking apart the remote.

    This is so frustrating! Tried several things including taking it apart and unplugging battery. Took 2.5 days charging to see any lights at all. Remote only comes on if I press the 1,2 & shutter button together but will not do anything else. DJI says I shouldn’t be able to turn on any other way besides using power button! I will never buy DJI again. We’ve been trying for weeks to figure this out. Only have used the drone like 4x then the controller stopped. What a piece of junk!

      TroysTube oh yeah it’s a P3 advanced or pro, right? I’ve only had the standard models and then the P4. The standard has the world’s crappiest Tx and needs a lot of work just to be usable.

      That's actually a pretty good idea. However if you ever plan on sending it in for warranty repairs you wont be able to with that hole. Just something to consider. I'm not sure why the newer ones have this issue while the older ones like mine just die.. they must have changes stuff.

      Halscamp oh wow awesome I'm glad! So odd this seems to be a common problem now. Try reseeding the ribbon cable if you want but I like you idea.
