We had the opportunity to check some out during Fisker's electrification tour and both of us hopped in the driver's seat for a drive and to explore all of the features. Is it really the worst EV? Everyone I know that owns a Fisker EV absolutely loves it and tells me how everywhere they go someone is always asking where can they get one too!
There are several things I need to comment on you review beyond what I said to the other commenter... the Ocean One was a little over 70k, however the Extreme whoch is the top you can buy now is $61,499. You also keep talking about the suade seats. I dont like that material either but the Black Abyss Plus is an awesome choice instead. The NFC reader thing is not necessary as the car turns on just by pressing the brake with the fob in the car.
Also, why make a big fuss about not coming with a charge cable? Everyone either has an at home charger or they go to a charge station that has a cable. Never been an issue for anyone i talk to.
This was one vehicle that I was more impressed when I saw and drove it in person than what i was going into expecting.
strange.........mine came with a very strong durable 22 kw type 2 -type 2 cable....maybe just here in europe.........
Update, the Fisker company continues to sink, as you can now buy the Fisker Extreme for $37,499 brand new from the dealership...

I really like the Fisker Ocean design. I also hope they succeed........ Just a thought though re electric cars in general. Why do we need so much software? Some of the old fashioned simple stuff worked very well... e.g. easy manual adjustment car ventilation. Regardless of design needing to be modern and super sleek and controlled from a screen or a mobile phone... something old fashioned, simple and manually operable without software, should be considered to stay that way. i.e. an electric car could be just very like an ICE car (that we are all used to)... but just have an electric powertrain.

Good vehicle but incompetent, untrustworthy, incapable, nepotistic leadership. Henrik is not cut out to be CEO, his wife is both CFO and COO (check out how well they’ve operated and handled finances), and his daughter is employed in marketing there and just turns up to event like a 90s IT girl. Disgusting behaviour when stock has dropped from $6 to $0.12 in 6 months. Company will go bankrupt, someone will inherit the cars and make a good go of it.

@@gappong1898I would think so except I do not know it go thru the long time real verification process like Software QA verification process during development/test: Any software feature can be claimed as perfect as it is but later some bug show up and need to be correct/fixed/updated to correct.
It seems like your wife was enjoying the ride until the final recap and complained about the logo, 100 kw charger not for free, interior ect. Why didn't you just drive the other car with fake leather like your Tesla if you don't like Alcantara? As a reminder, Fisker is dedicated to a more sustainable car so you are not going to get a 90K Rivian interior. This is the demand we all need to make in any car.
I understand the frustration about features not available and are promised in the future, that is fair but at least Fisker is transparent about future OTA's in 2024 needed to improve the car. VW, GM, Tesla ect all dealt with this.
By the way, auto hold is now on Oceans with the 2.0 update. Reminder, Tesla dropped prices 10K so why are you concerned about Fisker offering discounts? The Ocean Ultra is 52K, nowhere near the price of a Rivian so it should not be compared to that.
She owns a freaking tesla with a dated design .. looks a lot better and I like the solar roof .. teslas have a bad build quality imo.. I like the sunroof option and the space in the back seat
For me watching, that guy made the demo drive horrible! How many times did you actually tell him you guys currently have 2 EVs and he still kept talking to you like you know nothing about EVs! Nevermind he’s only been with Fisker for a month! Knowing their financial and other troubles, Fisker is a hard NO for me. However after doing a demo drive at Rivian yesterday, the R1S is just an amazing SUV! I think Tesla and Rivian will continue to dominate the EV world at this point. I agree the standard portable charger should be included, and if you don’t need one, then they should give you a couple hundred dollar credit at purchase if you don’t need a charger. And your wife’s impression is my impression SPOT ON! LOL
I know what you mean. He was very nice and honest but he definitely had a script he wanted to stick to. In watching it back I’m impressed with how my wife mostly ignored it and just asked her own questions which was great.
I’d also not be interested right now based on the price and features and the uncertainty around the company. I definitely agree that Rivian is on much firmer footing with a more mature and compelling product.
My wife is the best! She did not hold back at all.

@@Eventurefamily she didn’t hold back but I wish you knew why the materials feel the way they do. It’s all recycled plastic taken out of the ocean. The Ocean is the most sustainable EV out there. You would have to understand the vision to get it. I have driven the ocean twice. I absolutely love this vehicle. The vegan black leather is a very nice material. Maybe read more about Fisker’s vision of being so sustainable before knocking it. At least you were trying to point out some positives. Everyone likes different things. If your wife understood the reason for the materials maybe she wouldn’t have seemed so pissed. Seriously she seemed so mad or something towards the end. Also if you want to compare pricing of the ocean, you’ve also got to compare quality. Take Tesla for example. Great software but everywhere else sucks. The ocean has better build quality, better materials, the oceans seats are way more comfortable, the paint quality in the ocean is outstanding, the ride is quieter and absorbs the bumps in the road so you don’t feel it, the back seat has way more space than the model y for sure, and there are no gaps between pieces on the outside like a Tesla. That needs to be considered as well when purchasing a vehicle. I would rather have a fun fast quality built car than one with slightly better software (the oceans software has improved greatly already btw) than a poorly built one that I have to repaint because the paint quality sucks such as Tesla. Again thanks for sharing your opinion as I have expressed part of mine.
Fisker did everything backwards, over promises and under deliver. Gimmicks alone is not enough when basic stuff like the breaks not holding fails and now they need an update. Ridiculous and frustrating.
I agree, i just hope folks can allow some grace so they can recover from their mistakes. I love driving the car every day but i really would like the bugs (that are more of a minor inconvenience to our privileged lives) ironed out. If this can get done, it will be a great car!
As a three EV owner for the past five years I don’t see anything special about this vehicle. No frunk, no one peddle driving, limited regenerative braking, 10% greater range than a Y due to its 40% larger battery, no battery pre-conditioning, no access to SCs this year and the list goes on. Yes it’s a nice looking vehicle but you have to have great tech these days to be competitive. Taco trays, rotating screen, California mode, solar panel that provides a whopping 4 additional miles of range per day in IDEAL conditions…just gimmicks. The vehicle can’t even tell you how much the panels are producing. I won’t even get into the dire financial status of the company. Hard no for me.
I agree for sure. There is little that sets it apart that actually improves the experience. I think they would have been much better off by prioritizing the important features first and waiting until the software was fully ready.
This vehicle clearly isn't on the newest software version yet. The Ocean does have hill hold now, solar panels do tell you the charging amount now, one pedal driving and pre conditioning are coming soon, NACS and Tesla supercharger available Q1 2025. Who cares that it doesn't have a frunk. They are usually so small anyway and really not necessary. I'm glad they pushed everything under the hood to get way more backseat room. The Ocean is superior to the MY in every way except the software right now.
The software is such trash. The chip is subpar. It’s a shame because it is a great looking vehicle
@@BryanA3115 “Better than a MY in every way.” Pure nonsense. Fisker sold 1400 worldwide in Q1. 640 in the US. There are 4700 sitting somewhere collecting dust. If the Ocean was superior the product would move. The marketplace has spoken but you’re not listening.
This is coming, that will happen…laughable babble. Fisker stopped production and is so close to bankruptcy you can’t count on anything. Share price is $0.13 today. Dead man walking.
I test drove a Model Y this week and thought the windows were open because of the horrible and unacceptable cabin noise. I was not impressed!
