Pls. Turn on subtitle 🙂 I'm into pencils and it's maybe a coincidence that my favorite pencil brands also start with letter "P", such as Pilot, Platinum and Pentel. This may change in future as I continue to have more pencils. For this reason, I was not hesitant ordering a fancy Platinum which is matte black!!! I was excited taking it out the box... but I soon realized it is not as what I expected...
P pencils are your fave, huh?! Well, YOU’VE obviously never tried a PaperMate mechanical pencil. What a pile of frikkin JUNK! That’s why I’m here. I guess you get what you pay for tho. I can’t even make it through a small container of lead before the advance mech. breaks on those things. Their tips often bend as well and then can’t be pressed to advance at all. They rarely bend back properly either. I’m also a little heavy handed to so that don’t help but mostly they’re just cheap tips and even just dropping them the wrong way will tend to bend them. I need to find a 9 mm mechanical pencil that lasts longer than the refill container it comes with. I was also thinking I’d try and get used to using a clutch pencil to but I’m not sure if I could handle such an extreme change despite the fact that they can easily be sharpened. What say you. Any brands better than the other. I don’t mind spending a couple of extra dollars.
I have this in 0.3mm, and mine started making that weird grinding noise a few days ago. I took it apart and oiled it. It's even smoother than it was before now. (Just be really careful when taking it apart because the tip can screw into the grip section and never come out again. Keep the tip loose.)
Thanks for this. I like videos which talk about practical usage as opposed to obsessing over features which are never used. That noise would drive me crazy and I hate clips that get in the way. I haven't read anything positive about the bounce mode either except for someone using it to do woodwork. I'd like to see a practical use for it before I spend the money on it.
Those two pencils are very different, one is modern and the other is classic. I have videos for both of them in my channel. In addition, I’ve just published a video for Pilot S-series. I hope those videos can help you to decide :)
The bouncing system is similar to the Faber castell tk fine Vario, it might help people who break leads cause they write with a heavier hand, by I use pencils for drawing 90% of the time, so I prefer a steady firm pencil, but the lead sleeve protection is pretty cool! You can carry around the pencil without worrying damaging it in your pencil case in your bag I also think this matte black version looks so handsome, just like the all black Staedtler. I will add this pencil to my list of pencils to get when I can for sure, thank you for this video :)
I believe it is made in Japan but I bought it online locally. It's quite popular, hope you can find one soon🙂. Just one note, it rattles a lot... I hope the pencil I got is just a single defect 🤔 but I don't think so...

Looks huge in ur hand
this pen model needs some oil in 4 screw area in first use. And it stucks after if you dont do it first use
Screws? Where? To be honest, a pencil shouldn't need any intervention to make it work at first use. And so far it isn't stuck🙂
Elegante, veraz y útil
Thank you🙂!
Waw
unfortunately regular version also has that annoying sound
Thank you for sharing this information! 😊
Can't hear a word you're saying. Turn the music off next time.
😅 My bad! But I almost didn't say anything in the first 2 mins during the time music on... I'll improve this next time! 🙂
