I suggest that you try the All dressed Ruffles chips with the Ruffles ranch dip :) It is delicious ! The all dressed chips are a mix of salt and vinegar, bbq and ketchup chips ;) The Smarties are 2 times shorter than the original. My favorite sugarished drink is Pepsi but for the snacks All dressed Ruffles are on my top 3 with pickles Lay's chips, ketchup Lay's chips and pickles Doritos. Also, the Smartfood cheddar popcorn is awesome. For the chocolate bars, I love Wunderbar, Cadbury milk chocolate, Caramilk and Mirage bars.

Alot of the recommendations I would make for your next trip to Canada have already been mentioned, but I didn't notice anyone say Nanaimo Bars. It's something you could likely make at home, if you wanted. There are recipes online and the ingredients should be readily available.
Also, Beaver Tails are delicious (to be clear, it's a pastry that's thin, oval and slightly resembles a beaver tail, usually coated in cinammon and sugar). There are locations throughout Canada, but I believe there are some in the USA now as well.
Also, maple cookies, maple taffy, and REAL maple syrup.

Great reactions. Only thing I wanted to suggest is when you have an Aero you are not supposed to bit it. You put on your tongue and let it melt. The bubbles in the chocolate make it melt different than other chocolates. Sometimes you can feel the bubbles as well. When I am down in the US, I like to try all the different snacks as well. A favorite of my kids were Funyuns for many years. My current favorite are the Flaming Hot Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles. Way better than our chips up here.

Quite a few of the things they tried weren't the traditional versions of the chocolate bars. The bite size might be the same but it's not the same. That didn't look like a regular Coffee Crisp. Every Canadian taste test has to include Vachon products: Jos Louis, Ah Caramel, Passion Flakie, Billot Log etc. The video Irish People Try Canadian Cakes shows the great Vachon snacks.

Definitely get the Miss Vickie's Spicy Dill Pickle chips next time you are in Canada! It's what the Lay's were based on, but Miss Vickie's chips are far superior - they are a kettle chip. Miss Vickie's has many great flavours, so check out more of their chips. Salt and Malt Vinegar, Sweet and Spicy Ketchup, Applewood Smoked BBQ, All Dressed Up, Lime and Black Pepper...also try Hickory Sticks and Hawkins Cheezies.
Also Wunderbar, Big Turk and Crispy Crunch for chocolate bars (the latter is not a Butterfinger, and was in fact invented a decade before).
If you can get to a bakery, try a butter tart and Nanaimo bar. Even at the gas stations, there should be a Jos Louis and a Billot Log, which are packaged pastries from Vachon, a company that's over 100 years old. :)

We Canadians love All Dressed chips. Most brands sell a version now. I like Lays All Dressed better than Ruffles. I hate Ketchup chips. My personal favourite is Dill Pickle, which has been a popular flavour here since I was a kid in the 70’s/80’s. I have a hard time finding Dill Pickle anywhere in the US. I couldn’t even find fresh dill or dill weed at any grocery store in Florida (it is wonderful on Salmon).
All of the packaging here has both French and English.
You should try Cadbury Caramilk (similar to Carmello), and Crispy Crunch (similar to Butterfinger).

Hope you continue to do videos. The car might not have had the best light, but the three of you work well together for a video like this.
The main reason for the difference in flavour and texture is that Canadian chocolate needs to have a higher percentage of cocoa to be called true chocolate rather than "chocolatey" or "chocolate flavour". There are also some processing differences.
I'm not sure if it's still true, but I grew up in Winnipeg in the 80s at which time many food companies, both American and Canadian, used Winnipeg as a test market for new flavours. Like mid-sized prairie cities on both sides of the border, Winnipeg has too much industry to shrink too much, but isn't really expanding either since no one chooses to move there.
This makes it a great destination for trials like this since they'll have all the classic Canadian stuff, but will also occasionally have new products that you can't get anywhere else.

Congratulations on travelling to another country just to get decent chocolate, lol. Some of those are UK favourite sweats. Aero, KitKat, Smarties and crisps. Sadly is seems the Canadians are obsessed like America which huge bags, why I never buy them in the US.
Had a joke in the UK pavillion in June when I purchased two Aero's and said at last decent chocolate, cast member laughed.
I live 14 miles from the Nestle factory in York where most of the chocolate is made.
A kitkat bar previously cost me $2.59 and in June the price gone up to $3.45. In the UK it costs around £0.70 or $0.84. I thought it was down to importation costs for Disney. Turns out the products we thought was manufactured in the UK and shipped out, is infact produced under license in the US. Mars Bars, Milkyway, snickers (we preferred the name marathon) are nice too. Sadly not a fan of US chocolate at all.

Smarties have a thicker candy shell, which impacts the taste. 🇨🇦 here and I prefer M&Ms. KitKat is made by Nestlé around the world ex USA. Hershey picked up the rights to manufacture the brand from Rowntree who first introduced KK back in the day. The US KK uses Hershey chocolate. Nestle uses real milk chocolate.

    • @MarkLKahnt
      @MarkLKahnt 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

But when you eat your Smarties, do you eat the red ones last?
Back in the 1970s , Rowntree, the then producer of the candy, ran an advertising campaign on that question (you can find the video on TH-cam) and the question appeared on larger boxes ever since.
Original Aero doesn’t include the mint. You also missed out on Hawkins Cheesies - Canadians flash deep fry the corn puffs before adding the cheese powder, making them crunchy, smaller, and far less likely to leave the cheese dust everywhere.
You also should have grabbed some butter tarts and Nanaimo Bars - while much of the world teases Americans for how much sugar or equivalent (eg. Corn starch) ends up in so many foods, those two baked goods put them to shame. Much better for an energy boost than an energy drink.
