Americans try Canadian Snacks / Candy! Hickory Sticks, Cheezies, Cadbury Caramilk, Jos Louis
Sarah and I took a road trip from Minot, North Dakota; to Boissevain, Manitoba; to try MORE Canadian snacks that we don't have in the US! Including but not limited to, a battle of the brands between Old Dutch and Lays with Ketchup and All Dressed potato chips, Cadbury vs Nestle, and Vachon! Thank you for all of your comments on our previous video, with snack and chocolate bar suggestions. Time stamps for the specific foods we tried are down below!
What do you suggest we try next time?? What snack looked best to you??

    If you get a chance, perhaps try the vanilla half moon cake by Vachon ( same folks who make the jos. louis ). Coffee Crisp ( by Cadbury ) if you didn't try it last year.

    It’s funny that border control said it was weird to go across to get snacks when that’s literally one of the main reasons people in my neck of the woods go to Minot. 😂

      @ I haven’t been in ages, but I’m always amazed at the huge selection of things like cereal, yogurt, and sweets (like 7 million different kinds of Oreo!). My grandma always went across the border for groceries, and her husband went for haircuts and the Royal Fork buffet. I also used to get tons of Cherry Coke when it wasn’t available in Canada for a few years. I think it’s the same sort of thing you were thinking about the peanut chocolate bars - things are so similar but just different enough. And for the record, some of us genuinely love Crush Cream Soda, so I’m sure it was a legit suggestion, haha.

    Y’all were very kind! As a Canadian I don’t like a lot of the stuff you tried lol. I HATE the pink crush and agree it tastes like medicine. Butter tarts are really variable and are often enjoyed frozen. I like raisin butter tarts personally that are more solid than syrupy (the very syrupy ones are yucky imo)

    • @johnsmith2875
      @johnsmith2875 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ginger ale is very commonly enjoyed in Canada and my mom always gave it to me when I was sick lol… it’s a pretty common mixer for punches as well like sprite or carbonated water to give a punch carbonation.

    • @johnsmith2875
      @johnsmith2875 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And one last comment, yes! Butter tarts are very common at a bake sale. My grandma makes good butter tarts and so does my local bakery. I’ve never liked a butter tart from a chain store they can be nasty. Pecan and raisin are the most common fillings (so yea, they are kind of mini pecan pies 😋)

    Great video! My mom used to drive to Canada from Michigan just for cheaper booze over a weekend. She got stopped a lot too from what she's told me with the patrol telling her that was suspicious. She thinks they're just bored at the border. lol

    Water here is 800-900 ppm. I have reverse osmosis system and get it down to 20 ppm or less. The water here isn’t dirty but it has far too much minerals and things and the way they make is safe make its smell funny. I am wondering if it will change when we start getting the water from Lake Sakakawea.

    Alot of the recommendations I would make for your next trip to Canada have already been mentioned, but I didn't notice anyone say Nanaimo Bars. It's something you could likely make at home, if you wanted. There are recipes online and the ingredients should be readily available. Also, Beaver Tails are delicious (to be clear, it's a pastry that's thin, oval and slightly resembles a beaver tail, usually coated in cinammon and sugar). There are locations throughout Canada, but I believe there are some in the USA now as well. Also, maple cookies, maple taffy, and REAL maple syrup.

    I suggest that you try the All dressed Ruffles chips with the Ruffles ranch dip :) It is delicious ! The all dressed chips are a mix of salt and vinegar, bbq and ketchup chips ;) The Smarties are 2 times shorter than the original. My favorite sugarished drink is Pepsi but for the snacks All dressed Ruffles are on my top 3 with pickles Lay's chips, ketchup Lay's chips and pickles Doritos. Also, the Smartfood cheddar popcorn is awesome. For the chocolate bars, I love Wunderbar, Cadbury milk chocolate, Caramilk and Mirage bars.

In Newfoundland you can find pineapple crush and also in Newfoundland and Northern Alberta you can find Birtch beer pop made by Crush. I order them to Saskatchewan and takes 6-7 months to get them but darn they are good. I was also kinda sad you three didn’t stop at a restaurant for a Poutine, even if it was from a McDonald’s
