My kids and husband LOVE All Dressed. I like them but prefer Dill Pickle. I would say that Coffee Crisp is one of the most popular candy bars in Canada. It has been around forever. I am 50 and can remember eating them as a small child. I like them cold, so I keep them in the fridge.
As a kid I was blown away that they didn't have Coffee Crisp at the gas station when traveling through the states. I then searched the first Wall-Mart we stopped near. No one knew what I was talking abooot. Madness!
What a joy to see you and Frank together! Thanks for scratching my Canadian itch. I've been away from the Stratford festival for two years. When I finally get back I'll head straight to Dollarama and clear their shelves of All Dressed, Mr Bigs and Wonderbars, then back to the hotel room and have a snackcident. Much love from Milwaukee.
COFFEE CRIIIIIIISP 😍😍😍 i'm American, but my dad and his whole family are Canadian, so whenever we'd go up north to visit, we'd always come back with bags of Coffee Crisps (and those maple sandwich cookies. and the good maple syrup because of course). but Coffee Crisps are undoubtedly the best candy bars ever, no contest. i have been able to find them stateside in the past few years, but it's not quite the same, though, 'cuz the label's half in Spanish instead of half in French hahaha
After the both of you raved over the "All Dressed" Ruffles.....I paused the video and ordered a bag off of Amazon. :) And Emily needs to be promoted to "Level II" chef. :)
Nooooo! Promoting her to Level II chef would take away her privilege of putting ketchup on random food that has no business of being paired with ketchup. 😆
There are three things that I would love Chef Frank's reaction to that are Canadian recipes: - nanaimo bars, these are baked in a cake pan, cut into bars. They have three layers - chocolate-coconut cookie for a base, a custard in the middle and chocolate ganache on top. - butter tarts are a pastry shell filled with a caramel like filling made of eggs butter and milk often with raisins added (guaranteed to give you hyper-glycemia) - beaver tails, are flat pastries about twice the size of your hand made of doughnut batter, deep fried and covered with cinnamon sugar. PS. Its too bad that you are located in the east. There's a berry local to the prairies that is called a Saskatoon berry, although the Americans may call it a service berry. Its kind of like a cross between a blackberry and a blueberry but its flavor is stronger and a little more tart. I'd love to see Frank's reaction to eating a Saskatoon berry pie. If I made any mistakes describing these I am more of a consumer of these treats than a baker!!!
I love both of you! The first time I had ketchup chips I was in Machias Maine. No one believed that they existed when I got home to NJ. Still some of my favorites!
In my opinion I would say caramilks are something that can be enjoyed on a more regular basis without growing tired of them. Coffee crisps however, are something that is enjoyed sparingly but has a greater satisfaction (at least if your somebody who enjoys coffee flavours). Great vid BTW :).
I love all of this, except the ketchup chips. I had them when I was camping in Ontario, and did not care for them. But I do love the variety Canada has to offer as well as some of the BEST craft beer and game sausage I've ever had. Oh and All Dressed is the ultimate chip flavor, we've briefly had it down here in the south west of America and I want more of it.
Really good choices in the selection of flavours! No surprises in Frank's take on each of these. Though now he's gonna be constantly craving fuzzy peaches like the rest of us!
All dressed is a combination of the four original classic flavours. Bbq, salt and vinegar, ketchup and sour cream and onion. Some later copycats only use 3. I have loved wine gums since I was a kid in Canada only then they were shaped and stamped like coins. They took longer to chew so lasted longer.
Great video, been to Canada twice myself and I loved the ketchup chips. I went to Vancouver Island though, so opposite coast. I don't know if its exclusive but down here in Georgia All-Dressed chips are sold in the grocery stores and have a little Canada stamp on them. Anyways, great video!
I really liked this video because you are both having so much hanging out and having snacks. It was super wholesome to watch I want to try the peach gummies and the all dressed chips
As a gummies fan I will from now on will bo on the look out for the Fuzzy Peach - so need to try those - might not be very easy to find in Poland but we have a lot of "World cuisines" kind of stores with imported, highly overpriced junk food, so keeping my fingers crossed! :D Wine gums are also cool - I remember trying them when I was in England for the first time.
You need to try Dutch Crunch all dressed chips by Old Dutch. Another great all dressed chip. If you want a salt and vinegar chip with more vinegar flavour, get Miss Vickie's sea salt and malt vinegar. Ketchup chips are my all-time favourite chips. Loved them growing up. Coffee Crisp is the only coffee thing I will eat. I don't like coffee at all.
This was so fun to watch and I hope you do something like it again! Next time bake Canadian? Nanaimo bars and butter tarts (and we can export the raisins v. no raisins in butter tarts war)!
You need to be in the okanagan in bc, best wine. But I love sleeping giant winery, they have fruit wines. And on Vancouver island, little qualicum cheese works has great cheese.
Frank needs to go to a Japanese market and get a bag of Kasugai white peach gummy candy. I got a little nervous when I saw the kettle chips - thought the bag said they were marmite flavored. Maybe you and Frank could make poutine next time, or would that be too banal?
I have lived in California my whole life, but I just spent a week with my husband’s family in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. My mother in law was showing us around the (very small) town and when she pointed out Canadian Tire the contents of this YT video, all these years later, hit me and I blurted out “Have you tried their chips?” My in-laws had never thought of trying the Frank’s store brand chips before, but now it’s on their own to-do list. Unfortunately we never got an opportunity to try some during our visit there, so I will have to rely on the reporting of my in-laws. But Emily your silly, fun hangout video with Frank trying out Canadian snacks really stuck with me years later and I really confused my in-laws when I knew more about chips from a hardware store than they do.
@@EmilyDuncan I’m Irish-Canadian and I spent 3 years living in the US a long time ago before I moved to Canada. I was delighted to find many Irish favourites on the supermarket shelves in Canada. Right now I’m snacking on a Jacob’s Cream Cracker with a slice of Kerrygold Reserve Cheddar.
A mini tale of ancient days- Once upon a time Canadian Tire expanded into the American Market, while it didn't stick, they DID have a rewards Program called 'Canadian Tire Money' which was actual (very) monopoly money looking coupons good for 0.05 (or more there were several denominations). The money was accepted at par in either the American or Canadian stores, and was the first 'Can-Am' Dollar, universal North American Currency. In an alternate universe Canadian Tire Money has taken over from US Greenbacks, Mexican Pesos and Canadian Loonies as the 'Euro' of our nations.

Frank’s Needs Salt shirt. Iconic.
Life is sweeter with Ketchup - future shirts 🏀
Franks, I put that shit on everything lmao
He sells these shirts now on @protocooks, for any interested parties!
Wait...Emily AND Frank?! Checkmate Epicurious.
My two faves! Such great personalities
Get Lorenzo and the holy trinity will be assembled.
You guys get Rose as well and you guys will be opening a new Netflix Series.

THIS IS THE BEST! What a crossover!
Emily not having chocolates and other snacks with ketchup is heartbreaking.. and Why is Frank not making his own wine glasses?😭
Whose to say he doesn't?
He's busy making his own water
He needs to finish aging his sand first before he can blow it into glass.

Emily and Beth.
coffee crisp is my favorite chocolate bar! definitely a favorite here in Canada
This is a long-overdue crossover! I'm going straight from this video to the one over on Frank's channel next!
As a Canadian, I'm surprised how many of those things are not available in the US.
Yep. And I thought the ketchup chips were now available!
Canadians have better taste than Americans.

Cool channel. Came over from Frank's. Glad to see that the ketchup theme was only for the first few episodes.
Salt needs Frank.
it's mutually beneficial relationship
This is the crossover that does it right. Honda, please sponsor.
