    That coating is phenomenal, i live in bavaria germany with strong winters and a lot of salt on the streets in winter. I´ve applied a carpro cquartz 3.0 coating in August 2023 on my Audi, nothing left of it on the rear bumper and lower door parts, even after a decon contact wash last week...

    In their world you either daily the car and leave it dirty, or clean the car and stop driving it :)
    Good to see you too spend a huge amount of effort on cleaning your (very nice, sporty) car, and then still daily driving it in canadian winter weather!

    Waaauw that's crazy!! I knew a high PH cleaner could restore a coating, depends also on the quality of the coating and on your washing regime!! Good thinking on the pre-rinse with the rinseless wash though!! Per chance any idea how to get salt stained rubber covers and silicone hoses, that are pretty exposed on a motorcycle, back to it's original form? I coated them before winter with CQuartz Dlux, crazy thing is that it still beads water like new, but the salt got trough i guess and left white spots all over the hoses and covers.

    Hi Pan,
    So on another detail channel I seen how he just rinses off the dirt first. So I asked him doesn't that scratch the paint? His latest video he addressed it and said that a pre-wash was not necessary and you don't scratch the paint. You have been cleaning cars probably longer than he's been alive and I think your method is better now that I seen it on your channel. I just washed my wife's car and used the pre-wash method.
    Thanks,
    Phil

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are many ways to wash a car properly. It really depends on the state of the vehicle. Is it clean? Is it mildly dirty? Super dirty? What type of dirt or road film?
      But in general, I like to foam the vehicle, then rinse, then either foam again and wash, or go directly to hand wash. A good and effective pre-wash with a snow foam that actually has cleaning properties like this Armour Detail Supply or Bilt Hamber Touch-Less will remove the majority of the loose dirt, grit and debris, and soften the road film. By the time you rinse and get to the contact wash, there is minimal dirt left so you have waaaaay less chances of marring the surface. This is the general consensus among reputable detailers.

    Hi Pan, that winter scene by your home looks beautiful but being an Aussie I can't imagine driving in those icy and slippery conditions! I'd like to ask you two questions. Firstly, given where you live and the salt your car picks up, do you run warm water through your pressure washer to help "melt" away the salt or just straight from the cold tap? Do you recommend using warm water in the wash bucket at any time, or definitely not at all whether it be summer or winter?
    Secondly, I have a section on the front of my car (which I had ceramic coated when I bought it new) where the clear coat is peeling off from it. Does this mean the ceramic coating in that area is thin or is it non-existent? I thought - and perhaps I was wrong - that the ceramic coating would act as a barrier on top of the clear coat to protect it and that if it was done properly, the clear coat should not be peeling off. Can you advise on this please?

    Another great one bro. But question: with this kind of process, could it replace (the 2 products) the normal array of other steps and products whilst being just as effective in cleaning/removing contamination?
    Second: if you just use those 2 products but realize you still don't have the water repellant properties you know you should have and it's perhaps time for a minor clay towel step - could you do the initial 2 products and then follow up with mineral deposit removal w/clay towel like diydetail has shown in other videos for rejuvenating hydrophobic properties?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If after this, your coating hasn't recovered its properties, it's not looking good for you hehe. But there's still a chance a mineral deposit remove could do the trick. So you'd wash the car with the decon soap, thoroughly rinse, then dry. Then use the mineral deposit remover on dry paint (follow the instructions on the label!) and then rinse again.
      If at that point the coating still hasn't revived, perhaps it's just dead at that point. You could try using a synthetic perforated decontamination towel and a clay lube and see if there's any hope left.

      To answer your question, yes the Decon Soap can help to start to break down older waxes and sealants (like CarPro Descale or any other stripping shampoo) but keep in mind no soap alone can fully remove old protection. The only way to ensure 100% removal of older protections is by machine polishing. This is especially crucial before applying ceramic coatings, as you want to ensure there is absolutely no protection left on the surface before applying those glass bottle coatings.

      I caution to be careful with "cheap". I like using quality products. But if you buy bigger sizes, they come out not too expensive.
      Armour Detail Supply Decon Soap is 55$ USD for 1 gallon ($0.43/oz): bit.ly/4c3i1a3
      CarPro Descale is $96 USD for 4L ($0.71/oz): bit.ly/49BFKfM

    Does that detail spray collect the dust like PS Bead Maker? Trying to find something that gives that extra shine without attracting the dust so easily! Porsche looks great!

      I don’t have dust issues where I live so we’ll wait to see if viewers with issues like yours can comment on their experience.
      Even Bead Maker doesn’t have dust issues in my conditions.

    So could this be a good alternative to labocosmetica Primus and Purifica?

      I would need to test those before I can give my opinion.

    For a deep decon wash I'd suggest go over the car twice. Once with a high pH soap like you did, but also with a mildly acidic soap like carpro descale.

    Pan, is there any quick detailer that has anti-dust properties? The street my car is on is very dusty and right after washing it is completely dusty.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are no miracles to dusty areas unfortunately, but there are a few quick detailers that claim anti-static properties. Here are two good ones:

      amzn.to/49D5fNA
      I hope this helps!

    We'll be in Yuma AZ the next 6 months or so and the water here is absolutely dismal. You have about 2 minutes to dry the car before it has turned into a hot mess of water spots. Would something like this help dissolve the water spots on a weekly basis for washing? Our vehicle has been ceramic coated (R1) and I'll air dry but it will undoubtedly still spot up.

      @PanTheOrganizer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you can get a water deionizer setup that would be best. If not, regular washing of the car will help prevent water spotting. And once in a while use a soap like CarPro Descale to help remove mineral buildup and water spots. Here’s a link to Descale: bit.ly/3OKqO4u
      That soap is slightly acidic and is designed to remove minerals and water spots. Safe for coated cars. But don’t use it every week.

    So with Decon spray will it act the same as a iron remover and do I need to use a clay towel or just regular wash mitt with same results? Thanks! Ur videos are therapeutic!

    Nice video. Does water spot remover affect coating? And after useing water spot remover should we rinse that or perp that?and what about iron remover is that safe on ceramic coating?
    Some times i used apc as prewash is that also good idea?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A quality water spot remover should not damage the coating. It should help remove the mineral deposits and help to restore the coating's hydrophobic properties.
      An iron remover is absolutely safe on ceramic coatings. In fact it should be used for maintenance at least once every 3-4 months or as needed depending on your level of iron contamination.
      In both cases, start by washing your car first. Then use the iron remover, rinse and dry the car. Use the water spot remover as per the instructions on the label, and then thoroughly rinse. At that point, I would perhaps wash the car again with a pH neutral soap just to make sure you neutralize any left over residues.
      An APC as a pre-treat you have to be more careful with, as most APCs are super high alkaline and through prolonged use you perhaps could start weakening the coating. APC pre-treats are mainly used before a full ceramic coating job, or before you wash the car and do all the other steps in preparation of a protection application.
      Once the vehicle has its protection like a coating, use dedicated alkaline snow foams instead, like Bilt Hamber Touch-Less or CarPro Lift, or Armour Detail Supply Decon Soap, once in a while. For regular weekly washes, a pH neutral shampoo is all you'll need.
