  • This truck was caught in the historic Middle-Tennessee flood in 2010. It is time to see if it can be made to run and drive again, this time with the help of Christina's grandson, Vince!

As for Vince, he's a quick learner and will be a great gearhead for the future. As for Christina, she has genetics from another planet.. A compliment, of course.

I love that you're showing the kid how to drive and what motor vehicles are all about. In 1996, I did the same with my daughters. I bought my 1st daughter an ugly, 19884 Chevy Citation, 4-door sedan as her 1st car. The starter had a problem, from time to time, so I showed her how to jump it with a screwdriver, with the ignition switch on. A long story, cut short: When one of her girlfriends' cars wouldn't start, they all called on Sarah to work her magic! I am lucky to have her here today

I really hope Vince enjoyed his first drive and it looks like he really did!! 😊 Awesome!! This Bullnose Ford is really cool! I've always liked those body styles. The back plate and battery cable was probably because it had a tailgate lift, AKA Tommy Lift, on the back. You could either find another one or put an original tailgate back on it if you decide to keep it. Thanks for sharing, Richard and Christina!! You guys are awesome!! 😊

For the age of the truck it's in remarkable condition hardly no rust,If that truck was in North Dakota it would be rusted out

Hello Richard,Cristina & Vince. I am always immediately interested whenever you have the Ford trucks with the 300 Inline 6 engines and especially a truck that is about the same year as my 1985 Ford truck that I have.
The brake master cylinder always leaked brake fluid somewhere but nowhere that was very obvious. My clutch master cylinder was a bit problematic until I was able to replace the rubber gasket under the top.
Vince is a very good helper and I am always proud to see a younger person take such interest in working on different stuff because the younger generation are indeed the future.
Paul Miller Ford is pretty much the largest Ford dealership in the Lexington KY area as well as them operating their auto body repair shops in different towns surrounding Lexington. Those carburetors can be real head scratchers when they decide to act up. The ground cable on your truck may have a great deal of corrosion within the copper.,Unfortunately those Ford ground cables for the 6 cylinder Ford trucks are pretty long and branch off as I recall - if you look at the diagrams from the different parts places.
I was rather amused by the comments made by Pat & Frankie’s discussion on PowerNation regarding the 300 Ford engines being up and running even after a nuclear detonation. It’s a proven fact that during the “Cash For Clunkers”program a few years ago that the Ford 300 engines would not die like all of the other engines did.
I’m looking forward to seeing more videos of your Ford truck.

I thought your grandson was going to blast off with that power washer.😂 Great video! Maybe have him watch the original Herbie the Love Bug movies. That's what made me obsessed with cars at a young age...mixed with being around old cars in the woods at great grandma's house ❤

If Vince is fascinated with mechanical things and does things slowly and properly he will have a great future. Some people start out working on cars then move into electronics, engineering, IT, or other problem solving areas. I wish Vince the best of luck. Over time he might want to see some of the old Army films on engines, transmissions, and brakes. They're so simple and he will learn a lot.
