I really hope you all enjoy the clean up of the Wildcat! One thing I want to mention is I haven’t used the Carnuba Wax in a while. After a short period it hazed out pretty bad. We cleaned it back up and went over it with the Ceramic All-in-One Wax from Griots, we normally use. The paint was much happier! I hope everyone has a great weekend! **GMC Motorhome Update is our next Video**
To answer your question honestly, The car detail inside and out didn't turn out like I expected...It turned out way better than I expected. Looking at it on a big screen, you'd swear it just came out of the paint booth. I'm shocked, you guys did an awesome job. With the windows down, it looks beautiful, reminds me of cruisin' back in the day. Thanks for saving this one, what a great video!
Late 60s, early 70s cars are my childhood memories. Many of my neighbors had Buick LeSabres, Electras, and Wilcats. It was fun watching you bring back this beautiful car.
Gentlemen!!! Thank you! Grown man trying not to cry in Indiana. My parents had one but it was my mother's daily driver. Bringing back some good childhood memories.
OMG!!!! That Buick ended up absolutely stunning! You and your Dad outdid yourselves bringing this Wildcat back to life! I worked for a Buick dealer back in the day and I believe that the color on this Wildcat was called Antique Bronze Metallic! You guys are awesome and the car is beautiful!!!! I'd be driving that baby every day!!!
I was thinking either that or code #61 Burnished Brown which is a little darker than than #77 Antique Gold, hard to tell without direct sunlight, and the level of orange peel leads me to believe it was resprayed at some point who knows how accurately they mixed the paint.
You're dad doesn't speak much but I think that says a lot when you two are working together. He raised a good son and you know how to do it yourself the right way. I should probably give your mom some credit too
That is one magnificent automobile. Great colours on my favourite body style. The 4 door hardtop is eonderful. Given thst orange peel, i wiuld guess that carchas been repainted. Even on its worst day General Motors never sent cars out with paint that rippled. It also looks like the springs are due for a renewal. The car looks like itvis about 2 inches too low.
Dear stevequinn.. 👍👌👏 Same here. But unfortunately I neither own a refinery nor a gas station! Do you? 😁 ;-) 2) And, to be completely honest: Cars without b- posts and/or without window frames will never be completely water tight. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
@Chr.U.Cas1622 lol, yeah, I wouldn't want to daily it in CALIFORNIA SoCal are gas was almost 7 dollars a gallon last summer. My 2014 Plum Crazy Challenger R/T Classic isn't much better at 13 city and at best 15 freeways here lol.
Between Pole Barn Garage, Junkyard Digs and yourself, those of us who love seeing malaise-era, four-door land yachts being resurrected and driven are being spoilt for content right now! This one is an absolute beauty and has cleaned up really well - the difference between a nice dry barn and being left in a field or the woods i guess.
These transformations are so satisfying to watch! One tip on the seatbelts, they're easily cleaned with that carpet steam cleaner. I use a long piece of plywood (1x3 or so), lay the belt flat and clean it just like it's carpeting. Especially important on modern, retractable belts, which get sluggish when dirty (use a heavy spring clamp to hold the belt at full extension.) Most people assume some spring has gone tired on their slow retractors, but I found it's the oils and gunk the belt fabric picks up over the years. After all, most seat belts are NEVER cleaned. I was grossed out (and amazed) how dark the solution was when I cleaned the belts on my 200k mile Honda. And they zip back like new. Keep the videos coming, gentlemen!
That Wildcat sure looks good after the clean up. Everyone does things differently. I use a steamer inside my vehicles when they need a clean up. Soft brushes and microfiber towels. Great job on the car!
Gorgeous. You all did a fantastic job. Hardtops are fantastic. When you got to the front seats and chrome trim along the bottom-I just thought “Boy, they sure don’t make them like that anymore.” Fisher Body. The car came standard with a variety of engines including a the 455 cu in which you probably have due to the tow package (?) (Also fyi, per another FB channel do not use a fist or god forbid that rubber mallet on hubcaps. Use your stocking feet)
WOW!!!! Now that's a proper job fellas. If the ol gal looks half as good in person as it does on my phone screen, you have yourselves a going to town rig.
As i stated about this car in the first video i loved the look . Now NOW ! W O W !!!!. What a beauty she turned into. That was such a great ride along watching you and your dad 👋 hey dad 😁 clean scrub and show some budget buildz major lovin. That top , those lines , this baby cries out for the open road like rte 66 . Thank you guys for this trip. 👍✌️
That car is for taking the family and going to church. And all day cruising. Great job on this one. It looks like it came out of the dealership brand new. WOW.
Can't believe it looked that good under all the dirt accumulated over 26 years! The car is remarkably intact for its age. Can't wait to see you finish the rest of the mechanicals. Keep up the good work you two!
Y'all did a great job, I can clean and shine one up, but you do take it to a professional level. Thanks froma old Buick fan. --71 Riviera and 97 Riviera. 😊
That's one of the most significant transformations I've ever seen, including several that I've done on similarly filthy cars. The only thing I do a little differently is to remove the carpets and power wash them out of the car with a hot water pressure washer, medium heat like 200º or so, and a 15-25 degree tip. Really powers the ground in dirt out and leaves a great starting point for a re-dye if necessary.
What a transformation, who'd expect that under all that dirt & grime!, well done for saving such a beautiful car. Love your videos & so nice to see father & son working together on these projects. Keep up the good work.
my dad bought a 4 door 69 wildcat new, eventually I ended up with it....the thing was amazing, the 430-4 was silky smooth and the car could float along at 90 mph all day long and not break a sweat...keep an eye on the front tires, it is heavy on the front and seem to wear out front ties rather quickly....anyway, really nice work fellows, your build brought back great memories of my old '69 wildcat, thank you!!
"Transformation" -- what a perfect description for what went on here! And, I'm so glad to see you're using 303 Aerospace Protectant. I've been using it for 30 years and swear by it, for anything rubber, plastic or vinyl. (And, even furniture!) It's especially effective on dashboards and tire sidewalls. Apply that stuff regularly (every few months) and those surfaces will never crack or fade. Can't wait to see what you do next on that Buick!
I can't believe how nice that turned out! Get the Electra finished and take them together to a Buick event or even a cruise in. Have some before pictures and you guys will be the hit of the show! Well done!
When I came home from Vietnam I bought a 57 Chevy from a family that ran great and the body was fine but badly oxidized. I did much the same as you did, but without any power tools. Just scrub away with compound. My arm ached and my hands were a mess, but it was so rewarding to see the paint gleam again. Don't I just wish I still had that BelAir...
It's almost hard to believe how well this old girl cleaned up. What an absolute gem! You always make the cleaning so satisfying to watch. Great video as always.
Yea my truck would look great if the clearcoat hadn’t flaked off. Wish they’d never started doing that to paint jobs. Just got lazy I guess. Don’t last like the old paint.
@@stomper2582 yeah, unfortunately I have a truck like that around 2000 Ford ranger that half the paint blistered off it🤣. Took them about 5 to 10 years to finally get to paint chemicals right.
Great to watch this (once) beautiful Buick be restored back with a really good, cleaning/buffing/detailing. I would have wet it down and tried to blast off some of the dirt before I put on all the suds… but it all worked out good for you. With it being closed up for 26+ years, it was amazing to me how much dirt was on that headliner, seats and carpeting! This was definitely a nicely-optioned car with the white vinyl top, power windows, seat, and antenna, and I saw Am/Fm radio and tilt steering column, and of course the all-important factory air cond! Great car to do… and you guys did a tremendous transformation on it! Shines almost like new now! Great job and you had fun to boot! What a beauty now! Interesting, good video! Thanks!
I was 12 years old in 1969 and saw plenty of Buicks at the time, mostly Electra and LeSabre 4-door hardtops. And yet, I never saw a 1969 Buick Wildcat. Guessing local Buick dealers did an excellent job talking customers into an Electra from the Wildcat. My dad told me that both the Oldsmobile Delta Royale and the Buick Wildcat were too close in price to the more desirable Ninety -Eight and Electra C-body models. Your finding a 1969 Wildcat 4-door hardtop is astounding to me - there maybe more 1969 Cadillacs still around compared to Wildcats.
Great video. The whole process is so much better to watch than a dude getting an engine to pop on brake clean and then never seeing the car again. Bless you and your family.

I kind of looks like Taupe Metallic, the color of my ‘73 Monte Carlo.

Awesome car awesome video

Same here, that color brings back some memories too!
Great 👍 work guys!! Lifetime memories
My father was a huge Buick fan. He would have loved to have seen this video.
Same here. My late mother didn't start driving until her mid 30's and the 1969 Wildcat was her first car. Memories.....I'm NOT crying.
I was not expecting it to turn around like that! It was preserved by the barn dirt. Thank you once again for the hard work, i loved it.

AMAZING TRANSFORMATION! You guys killed it on the Wildcat. Can’t wait to see more of this classic old car.
That turned out really nice, in my opinion that was one of the last years before cars all started looking alike, really is a beautiful car

Love the 60’s Buicks especially the 69 Wildcat! Beautiful restoration
What a transformation, it looks better today than any other time in its life, Except that person who bought it new.
Stunning transformation, really nice cruiser, GM products from this era are gorgeous
Your channel so laid back and relaxing. No drama.
Didn’t know there was electric bench seats
From grody-cat, to mild-cat to WILDCAT!!! Spectacular detail - kudos!!!
Loved this video, you guys are awesome and I want to see more of the Wildcat.... my grandparents had a 1967 Electra 225😊
She came out really good!
What a beauty. Ours was green. Back in the day my mom would always hide in the trunk when going to the drive-in.
She barked off nice. A little love, and she’ll be back for sure.

Not only would I not have expected it to turn out that nice, I couldn't ven tell it had a white vinyl top at first. Incredible work!
Wow! What an amazing transformation. Never would have guessed it would clean up that nice. Great job guys!
Hi Michael and dad you both gave me great pleasure just watching that great old girl coming back to its intended beauty fantastic job regards wayne
It was once again a pleasure to see this transformation of the 1969 Buick...great keep it up! greetings from Germany

I've used gallons of 303 on rafts and my own car interiors. It's some of the best stuff out there. Great work gentleman!
I’ve had good luck painting carpet with vinyl seat paint. Nice job bringing it back to life! you guys always do good work.
You guys, for not being professionals, you really did a good job .congratulations
Wow...!!!! amazing work Gents.
Now that’s a transformation!!
Outstanding transformation, might be one of the best you've done. As far is it being just cleaning, no paint/body work. Great work you two.
Really enjoyed this video. You guys sure made it look super nice. Great job!
That wash was very satisfying to watch while listening to that Hendrix inspired jam guys!
Wow! Wow! You added another fifty years' life to this beautiful Buick. The body shapes, the gril and chrome bumpers look amazing l. Tku!
Nice old Wildcat. My dad had a 55 Buick, dynaflo transmission. Those old GM's were hard to beat. New ones "not worth hoot".

Beautiful old Buick! Cleaned up with good old fashioned hard work. Great job guys!
That car looks fantastic my dad had one when I was a kid identical to yours
Wow !! You guys did an outstanding clean up on this car !! It looks great !!
Cars today will never last that long and clean up like this. Enjoy it while you can. Goos work.
So gratifying. As someone who has gone through this process multiple times I can appreciate the work you went through.
What a transformation! Its beautiful! Reminds me of my grandparents' Buicks. Great job guys!
