5:14 Granny’s an abusive idiot who just wanted to beat on a young kid. If mommy dearest really stole 1mil from checking, it would be clear to see and Granny could have had her easily arrested and most of the money returned. OP is not responsible in the least for being the victim of their mother’s con. I hope Granny dearest gets judged hard for that nonsense.

Yep... The really sad part is that most of us who were abused as kids would defend our parents' bad behavior. My parents taught us that CPS was an evil institution and we would end up getting raped and see what real abuse was if they got ahold of us. So even though my dad would beat the crap out of us. We would down play it, for fear of CPS.

@@Actualbowlofsoup Thank you! Thankfully my Mom was super loving, she might have been abusive too, but I know she was doing her best. My Dad, well... He wasn't as bad as my friend's Dad... even though all of us girls have horrible self confidence, because he always called us fat. At least they didn't take advantage of us kids... just physically and mentally abusive with punishments/anger...
I have heard the stories about how others' parents were so much worse... I enjoy listening to these because I value my own parents more... My parents are also victims of their parent's abuse. It seems like it goes back in both sides of my family...
I refuse to have kids, because I understand that I would be an abusive parent.(Much like my parents) My cats and dog can handle the messed up emotional issues I have... I try to get unofficial rescue animals so that I can save them from abusive situations, so I guess that is a positive thing that comes from the abuse. 😁

My only memory from my mom and dad together (they divorced when me and my brother were 3- after this). Me and my brother were seeing Nemo on the TV with my mom, then my dad came downstairs and they start arguing which led to the point of me and my brother crying my mom treatning to call the police if he didnt leave and the like 3 seconds later he choaking her and the me and my brother screaming to him to stop, eventualy he left and never went back in the house. On month later or less he went to live with my now stepmom and didnt see me or my brother for 3 years then wanted to build a relationship. When I was 8 I realised how toxic my dad were/are and my mom is better without him.

Probably the many times they insulted me when I was younger and then when I'd cry my mom would say it was a joke and that I should stop being so sensitive. It isn't nearly as bad as the people's experiences in the video but it did do some damage to me.

Dad yelled loud enough at 3 am that I could hear it over my loud fan and loud music and closed door.
I was on the other side of the house.
Why was he yelling? Because my mom insulted herself.
When mom gets frustrated she implodes (my brother is the same)
When dad gets frustrated he explodes (unfortunately I sometimes do this)
Also my dad is “never angry” and “always happy” and everyone can just “choose to be happy”
I am certain that my dad has narcissism, I know he is self centered (claimed that god talks through him)
I know my mom has stress related issues (might be from 5 years of working under terrible leadership) and minor ptsd (hates gruesome scenes even when animated) and has low self esteem
My brother has grown distant, walks away from arguments and is non confrontational
I have anxiety, I am also an empath. Oh and since a year ago I have been slowly slipping into my imaginary world.
    My family is a mess.

October half term. On holiday. About 5 minutes after I went to bed (staying in a camper van with double bunk beds so was less then ten foot away) mum and stepdad start screaming at eachother and arguing about money.. I’m the oldest of 3 kids... we were away becuase it was my half brothers youngest bday.. The stepdad said.. knowing he was there “I’m tempted to go outside and hang myself” he then got up and slammed the door on his way out. Leaving my mum crying... I immediately got up to check if my youngest brother (sweetest kid you’ll ever meet, 10 years old) was asleep.. thank god he was... my other brother (step brother 12) was up however... never have I ever wanted to slap my mother and stepdad more
I ran away from home 6 months ago and don’t regret a thing.. apparently it’s got a lot better since I left too... so semi happy ending. This is the least worst thing... my mums also horrible to anyone she sees as different... and when I told her I had genuine concerns about my mental health she said it was bs...
    (I’m safe btw 😄)
Have a good day guys ❤️

With my dad it was when he brought his mistress (now wife) to our house and let her stay with us while Mom was on a cruise with some relatives. I have one dark story and one awkward.
Let's start with the dark so we can end it on a positive note.
When I was less than 5 years old, I would frequently watch my dad grabbing my mom's head and ferociously hitting it on a wooden chair and my brother and I screamed to my dad to stop. I think it's obvious why my parents are divorced.
The awkward and annoying thing my stepdad and mostly my mom would do is whenever my girlfriend came to my house to chill in my room and spend some time together, they almost always tried to start a conversation with her, or they would constantly open my door in my room to ask us about if we are hungry and generally stupid stuff. It was very weird because these conversations seemed forced, and a lot of times we did sexual stuff in my room so it was always annoying if they came by, or just having the thought that they could come any second storming in my room without even doing anything is sad. TL:DR 1: Abusive dad
TL:DR2: My mom was a cockblocker

B, you ruined my high school graduation with the second attempt, dont deny that one happened. Would of rather she stayed in the institution the whole scheduled time instead of hearing her whine about how sorry she was at making my graduation so sad. Yeah she gaslighted me a lot, rarely talk to her due to that and her tendancy to bring up stupid shit then play the victim when I rightly react poorly.

    • @mossbaby6292
      @mossbaby6292 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I don’t think it’s fair to blame moms for staying, especially when often times they fear for their lives or their kids lives should they leave. Abusive partners usually incredibly manipulative and isolate their victims, which is why so many women don’t feel strong enough or supported enough to get out, and often feel like there isn’t a better alternative

    • @aishahsiddeeqa8311
      @aishahsiddeeqa8311 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The time period where a women is most at risk for being killed by her partner/husband is when she is getting ready to leave the abusive relationship and the first year after she leaves. The abusive partner will go to extremes to regain control which includes murder. Leaving often means the violence and terror will get worse for a time period potentially to a lethal degree and the police probably won’t do much about it until it’s too late even in developed countries like the US or the UK.

My 'mom' Framed me for a couple petty misdemeanors to get me institutionalized & locked up from 11 to 18.5 years old almost entirely on the taxpayers dime for nothing at all besides a couple frivolous (& FALSE) allegations she and her husband had fabricated with great impunity. When I was placed under those 2 false arrests at 14 years old, both of my shoulders were crippled for life by the police when they arrested me, as I was a fairly young kid who really hadnt done what she claimed & I hadnt ever dealt with police before so I didnt know what they would do to me for mouthing off to them...but I sure found out! Over 10 years later, it caused me to undergo 2 major Orthopaedic Reconstruction surgical procedures--one on each side--both times yielding ultimately poor results, which seems to be a not-uncommon or surprising theme when dealing with the medical world [iatrogenic / nosocomial results]. Only after initial surgery costs of around 40K plus OVER a year to recover did I later find out that the surgeon had used prohibited devices in both my shoulders, entitling me to around 100k minimum damages each, and today I ultimately still cant do professional trade work any more as a result, yet my mom emphatically insists with great vehemence that im misdirected to think about suing device manufacturers or surgeon, despite that the misuse had resulted in massive class actions & billions of dollars in settlements because of the simple fact that the FDA had DENIED the devicemakers not 'merely' once but THREE times for the particular use in question (intra-articular placement of pain-pumps) and was subsequently found to have caused long term joint damage to thousands of patients nationwide. Unfortunately its past the statute of limitations now as I come to discover that I have--or at minimum had--standing to pursue damages that would have been quite substantial for me and could have literally saved my own family from disintegrating, so its much less likely that I could win, but still possible, especially if there happens to be, for example, a knowledge-dependent tolling clause in Minnesota's related (Personal Injury / Medical Malpractice) Rules of Civil Procedure etc...which I have yet to be able to confirm. Im in MPLS and stability is not helped by all of this, and in 2020 the ridiculous shuttering of the National & World economies for the last 4+ months plus the Riots & the related issues make life--as seems to have been the plan all along--a constant balancing act perched on an ever more precarious precipice. Meanwhile she grew up in a family that had literally hundreds of millions of dollars and had money to blow 15K on dolls but couldt come up with $800 to fix my adult teeth for my entire youth, which had grown in orange & caused me endless problems. At least her mom wound up pulling a few crumbs from their dynastic 'royal neverending feast' that I wasnt ever a part of, to fix my teeth when I was almost 19. Now that my 'mom' became a freshly minted millionaire upon inheriting from that particular parent almost 2 years ago, she continues to claim that she cant afford to help me pursue a CHEAP community college priced degree or similar, although she fully backed her other son with not only college but then partially backed him through lawschool & now hes a 5th year corporate lawyer who reps one of the largest international banks in the world &--even more heartwarming--specializes in stealing peoples private property via imminent domain condemnation scams 'to make way' for of all things, Oil Pipelines & Cell Phone Towers (according to the online resume which he maintains). To top off the ultimate insult, hes been too good (at least in his fantasy world) to even speak to me at all... since 20 years back. A REALLY NICE GUY WITH STRONG FAMILY VALUES!!!
Three years ago I had over 30K cash & asked her to cosign on a 60K house - not put any money on it - I asked her to take limited & highly structured risk and I was able & willing to not only pay 25% down but also offer an additional 25% for her to hold as collateral. Of course, in keeping with her typical historical character, she wouldnt so much as consider it. Her mom financed every house she ever bought, meaning she has never had to deal with a traditional lender, and its very likely that she wouldve only qualified for a subprime or ARM etc based on her income which was not all that high (even she has always gotten a fat trust payout every year since b4 I was born shes always concealed that & she somehow doesnt have to claim it for taxes or anything so shes always pretended to be broke but what really happens is she spends 10 to 20x what normal people spend on a lot if not most of what she buys...for example she buys lots of Dr. Haushka skin care products for example Dr Haushka deoderant costs about $40!!!!!!!... I couldve put 10K down plus 5K to 10K into closing & PMI...& if needed, up front maintenance...plus I offered to put an additional 15K in an escrow account in her name for her security, and of course I already had more than enough monthly verified cashflow to cover the super low mortgage on a 60K house...at the time I had over 30K plus able to count a verified $800/month (I had more than that monthly but unverified so not able to count it). The mortgage on a 60K house including insurance would only be about $350 or at most up to around $400, and I was intending on getting a fixer upper, which would more than fit perfect financial sense for me considering that for nearly a decade I was a professional remodeler & ultimately just before exiting the trades (in order to undergo my shoulder reconstructions & supposedly pursue a degree) I had actually passed/met all of Minnesota's Licensing requirements to begin doing business as a General Contractor, meaning that all I would have had to do would have been to purchase a GC insurance policy & a Bond, and I would have been legally qualified to offer New Construction & Home Building services from Foundation to Roof (& everything in between). But somehow this person whos supposedly my mom doesnt think I should own a house cause she thinks that somehow I dont know about & wont be able to handle expenses of HVAC / furnace, Water Heater, Roof, etc. In reality though a lot of maintenance I could & would handle myself without hired help, & as far as a roof on a steep pitch or other task which I couldnt or wouldnt do myself, that was exactly why I offered to give her 15K to escrow for her comfort so that she wouldnt need to be a paranoid naysaying negative Nancy...or in 2020 perhaps Karens the better fit since she shares her families race-complex.

Not really a caught but I heard it… I heard my parents banging in their bedroom (as a kid who found out about s*x early) I understood what was going on so I told my 2 older sisters.. ever since I was always convinced they were doing it everytime they locked themselves in the bedroom.

You could have cut the fishing line! As a fisherman they suck but its ok to lose a .05 hook and you won't feel as bad as the guy that smashed it to death!

3:35 Did the TV not have a volume control or at least an accessible plug?
Edit: Actually one of my flat screens doesn't have a volume control on the TV for some stupid reason but this sounds like it happened a long time ago.

I'm considering reconnecting with my narcissist mother, whom I've been "no contact" since this past Oct. Anybody have any serious advice?

Ask reddit for opinions, much more interactive community, there’s probably a subreddit (“forum” if you dont reddit) for narcissist survivors, family abuse survivors, etc...
