I'm 52. I remember most of these films. Porky's for example was a social commentary on anti antisemitism and racism. Blazing Saddles was the same. It's true that these movies wouldn't be made today, but that's a problem.These films shined a light on issues that no one discussed or looked at. If we can't make these films, how does that happen?

Revenge of the Nerds was the first film EVER to address the fact that NERDS were real people with real feelings. I was a nerd back in the day and I found this film such a refreshing change from films like sixteen candles which only loved the cool kids.

Yes, you have your freedom of expression, but if you want to use it to feed prejudice in our society under the excuse that are just jokes and putting your irrational pride of being "politically incorrect" above the social healthy, you are not making good use of it.
To a large extent yes, but in the case of I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, you have to consider what was going on at the time. Had the movie been made either earlier or later, it would have been far less offensive. The movie came out in 2007, but in the US, same sex marriage was in the process of being legalized starting in 2004, but it wouldn't be until 2015 that the process was completely finished. There's also the issue in that case, that much of it just isn't that funny to begin with. The lgbtqia+ community has a long history of laughing at gay jokes, it's just that they have to be funny and in some way clever. Watching a couple of straight actors playing straight characters taking advantage of something that took decades to earn is not likely to be taken well to begin with, but doing it during a period where there was a bunch of relevant court cases going on an many still couldn't get married is just rubbing salt in the wound.

I see a lot of comments about how this generation is soft and over sensitive. I don’t think that’s the case I think things like this always had people who were offended by them. What changed is that now it is way easier to complain. I mean think about it. Before you could call which most likely would never get through and most likely be ignored anyway. Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite comedies ever. I honestly think none of Mel Brooks films could be made today with how things are currently, but still, they're many of my favorite comedy films of all time.

I saw blazing Saddles, like 3 years ago 2017 recommended by my boss while i was working in Tennessee, i found it amazing and got the satirical part of jokes. To a large extent yes, but in the case of I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, you have to consider what was going on at the time. Had the movie been made either earlier or later, it would have been far less offensive. The movie came out in 2007, but in the US, same sex marriage was in the process of being legalized starting in 2004, but it wouldn't be until 2015 that the process was completely finished.
There's also the issue in that case, that much of it just isn't that funny to begin with. The lgbtqia+ community has a long history of laughing at gay jokes, it's just that they have to be funny and in some way clever. Watching a couple of straight actors playing straight characters taking advantage of something that took decades to earn is not likely to be taken well to begin with, but doing it during a period where there was a bunch of relevant court cases going on an many still couldn't get married is just rubbing salt in the wound.

I don't see an issue with actors playing another race. Did anyone raise an eyebrow for "White chicks"? Didnt think so. If it's funny or has a good plot. I really dont care. I saw blazing Saddles, like 3 years ago 2017 recommended by my boss while i was working in Tennessee, i found it amazing and got the satirical part of jokes. Really today special snowflakes ruin everything. Just learn to laugh at yourself, while laughing at others, i hate my generation, they NEED to be Political Correct, guys it's just a joke take it with a grain of salt and if something offends you, then don't do it, simple as that. No need to protest, no need to become "freedom fighters" just think or ask yourself is it okay to joke about that or are we crossing a line we shouldn't.

As someone born from the "Overly-sensitive" Generation, I can safely say that a lot of these movies would in fact cause backlash( although I'm not 100% sure about the satire ones since people can be taught what satire is even in the modern day)

Blazing Saddles is definitely a film I think of when this topic comes up, but it didn't even make their list. I loved the movie as a kid, but if that same film was made now there's a lot that people could take offense to.
people are stupid. They want the same movie over and over again to feed the monotony of their lives. Fact is its a movie, its not real its make pretend. So the fact that people want to censor things that are not real is stupid. People are gonna be entertained by things they do not see everyday. thats why movies are fun. These movies could be made today if people weren't grown babies.
The monsterously successful franchise "The Gods Must Be Crazy" gets my vote as movies that couldn't be made today.
