What about the “Rust” movie with Alec Baldwin?
Rust
Right off the bat you're going against the title of the god damn vid ... there's a great divide between a "controversial movie" and a "movie that got cancelled due to controversy because of some bullshit by someone associated with the film" ... feel like MW jumped the shark a long time ago
@@jcj268 Not cancelled.
@@TheMountyPresents Not cancelled.
Very interesting that there’s not even a mention of Batgirl. They really really want us to forget it don’t they? Brendan Fraser said recently that they filmed the entire movie before it was shelved.
Probably because it isn't a controversial movie
Not only did they film the entire movie, but it was deep in post-production when it got canned. Not a controversial movie, though. And it technically didn’t get cancelled either, since it’s essentially finished and is simply going unreleased.
@@nicolasleth6848 Neither was The Day the Clown Cried.
@@garethhanby you're right, this also shouldn't be on the list, my comment only regards Batgirl since it is an answer to the initial comment
The only aspect that I think was controversial was the lead actress being a person of color. The same decision making behind Batgirl getting shelved also involved HBO Max programs being removed from the service without notice. Some programs involved POC characters.
Bruce Willis may not be the easiest person to get along with on a movie set, but here's hoping the best for the hell he's going through now.
Agreed
In the old country, we call what's happening to Mr Willis ... how you say in Sanskrit ... karma?
Apparently he wasn't always difficult, but he did gradually get there. I'd like to think his Health was the cause, but some people have said otherwise. Either way, he's Bruce Willis, that name means something to a lot of us
Without a doubt
@@richardhart9204 bites you in the end.

Is it really "controversial" if the creator of a movie decides not to release it because they just think it isn't good? (The Day the Clown Cried)
No. In all honesty some of these movies sound so stupid
No, that has nothing to do with the movie being controversial. That has to do with "controversy" by someone/something associated with the film. Haven't watched this vid yet except for the first 35 seconds where they have already shit on the title and supposed theme of this vid.
It's the subject material that's always kept the conversation going. That and the fact that we as a public were never able to see it, largely do to the creator's efforts.
Bill Cosby's Leonard Part 6 would have the same type of mystique to it if he had been able to successfully been able to buy it away from the producers and bury it before it got released.
I heard that's a movie that's going to get released now. I think it's somewhere where you have to pay to watch it in private rather than it get released to bluray and theaters.
It was donated to the Library of Congress a number of years ago, but they aren't allowed to screen it until June 2024. They can't loan it to anyone else without permission from Lewis' estate, they've said they don't plan to release it on home media, and they don't have a complete cut (since the movie never finished post-production).
I know about Midnight Rider.
They were trying to lift a bed they were using as a prop off of the tracks, but when the train hit the bed, it went ricocheting into the victim. I don't remember the name of the young lady that was killed.
There's footage that shows the train approaching the crew as they desperately tried to get the bed off the tracks. There's two versions. One filmed on the train, and one filmed by someone as they desperately tried to get the bed off of the tracks.
Given how the last movie got canceled cuz of someone's accidental death, I'm surprised Rust hasn't gotten canceled yet too, even though THAT TRAGEDY ALSO WAS VERY ACCIDENTAL
Bring up The Crow and Twilight Zone movies, WHILE YOU'RE POINTING FINGERS.
@@lizardog The Crow was also an accidental shooting, the actor involved wasn't famous enough to open himself up to ridicule. The Twilight Zone movie's accident just happened to involve two children who weren't supposed to be on the job at night when that accident occurred.
I'm not condoning what Bill Murray did but it says a lot about the industry that that's mild in comparison to the rest
Some of these movies actually sounded intriguing
5:36 Small but vital point: This 1962 unfinished movie has a *four word title,* "Something's GOT TO Give." "Something's Gotta Give" is a 2003 film starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton.
6:30-6:35 might be the best transition WatchMojo ever did 😆😆😆
Not releasing a finished movie is illegal. So those people should be sued.
I believe Midnight Rider is not the first time a director may face jail. Anyone remember in 1982, the fatal helicopter crash, on the set of Twilight Zone. Two children, one adult were killed. 6 others injured. Claims of this accident were because of director John Landis.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.
Too bad Spacey turned out a lousy P.O.S.. Would have been a good movie
What do you think these movies would be like if they didn't get canceled?
Who knows. Some may have been good, others not so much. But, sadly we’ll never know
There’s gonna be some alternate worlds where some of them showed to mankind
probably mixed responses, some people care about the controversies while some people don't
@@BigFella117 I can live with that.
@@lizardog as can I
I think the original version of Something's Got To Give got finished. I remember AMC-TV(back when they were still known as American Movie Classics) restored it. They reedited it to a short film. Move Over Darling ended up being the only actual feature length version to play in theaters, but with different actors.
Doris Day played the role intended for Marilyn Monroe.
Understandable why these movies were canceled.
Unless the Film all star weekend
Coincidentally, Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. also appeared together in the Soloist, where Downey play a character named Steve Lopez (talk about a different race).
Is the title misleading? None of the movies themselves sounded very controversial. Wouldn't it be:
10 Movies cancelled for Controversial reasons.
This should've been called "Top 10 Controversial Movies That Were Never Released".
when will @WatchMojo finally add chapters? This is 2023, you should use the basics TH-cam features.
They probably won’t. They don’t want people to jump through and not watch the whole video. All about the numbers.
I’d love to see Being Mortal get brought back into the rest of the 2020’s with some slight changes!
But yet,Roman Polanski is allowed to create and sell his movies despite the allegations against him, including a guilty verdict in absentia due to him fleeing back to france.
Please do a top 10 Jimi Hendrix songs. He's such a great musician he deserves a top 10
There's a couple of films on this list that deserve to be finished filming and/or be shown to the public. But, The Flash and Aquaman 2 get a pass?!?...welcome to America.
The public gets what the public demands.
So next year The Day the Clown Cried gets released.
Predictions: do you think it will be as bad as Jerry Lewis believed or is it a hidden gem that even he couldn't see?
It probably will be bad and obviously he shouldn't have made it in the first place!
All of this cancelling crap has to stop
so we should keep a tv show if no one is watching it instead of cancelling it
They didn't get cancelled in the internet sense they just didn't get released
Canceled = the consequences of your actions. So i guess you think we shouldn't have any kind of repercussions for bad behavior. Good luck with that.
The Hunt, Trumper
On that last one. Obviously, someone severely Fed up. Your people use their resources to learn who has ownership and authority over a location, arrange and manage availability, costs, etc. Had this been done (which I'll simply assume they didn't think they "had" to do since they're not in California [swoon]), the operating railroad would've coordinated the schedule and NOT used those tracks that day. But: WAS it the *director's* fault? Director ranks pretty high, but their job is to manage the actors' performances, camera and FX execution, etc. Clearing those tracks was someone else's job.
The irony that two films that were filmed close to Savannah will never see the light of day, seems to have a high degree of irony.
Why was Midnight Rider canceled by an accident but the Twilight Zone movie.wasnt?
Considering Spacey was found not guilty, maybe he should sue.
Off topic but when Jaime Foxx accidentally swallows dad's ashes I lose it!! Good movie.
That Louis CK movie is so weird but funny.
Bill Murray is innocent until proven guilty.
How is Rust not on there, unless they will end up releasing it which would be pretty grim
You may as well throw Rust on here...for obvious reasons
That has not been cancelled, it is going ahead.
And The Crow... to point a few more fingers.
What about Jennifer Chambers Lynch's A Fall From Grace?
So......Jamie Foxx was proven right?
how
I’m surprised “Don’s Plum” wasn’t mentioned. You get a good sense of what kind of an a-hole DiCaprio is like in real life. No wonder they wanted to put a stop to it
It's available outside the US and Canada. Not quite the same thing.
Great. Thanks. I'm going to watch every one of these movies on this list 👌
Not cancelled in the internet sense bro the movies got cancelled in the sense they were never released
You can't, the movies weren't cancelled in the internet sense, they were just never released.
You sound so edgy 🙄 Good luck with this movie-watching rebellion of yours 👌🏻 (Maybe first take a second to Google what it means for something to have never been released. You might save yourself some time 👍🏻) 🤣🤣

These movies are canceled for lots of reasons.
I really want to see ‘The Day The Clown Cried’ now!
For “Being Mortal”, why not recast the roll? Maybe that would be better right?
Marvel and DC movies have full of scandals.
You might say they got CANNED before it goes to movie 🎥 theaters.
Sometimes you have to separate the art from the artist.
What about that movie Alec Baldwin was making? Rust- something, it was called?
It's currently in limbo. No word yet that it has been cancelled.
I'm pretty sure the movie "RUST" will follow these other films and NEVER be released to the public.
Spider-Man 4 The Amazing Spider Man 3
A movie dropped after a death on the set?
Wasn’t there another movie where that happened more recently?
Ya know, the one where some Bozo accidentally shot someone and killed them?
Sounds familiar?
There is also the Twilight Zone movie- Actor Vic Morrow and two little children were killed in an on-set accident. The movie was still released and Director John Landis was acquitted like it never happened.
Sounds like you're referring to Rust, however, it hasnt been cancelled and I wouldnt classify Alec Baldwin as a bozo for doing his job where the hired gunsmith fucked up and ending up getting someone killed.
Yeah, it sounds familiar. Happened on the set of The Crow years ago.
@@lizardog
I was actually talking about the incident on the set of Rust….
Great title Louie🤣
Alec Baldwin incident?
Rust, not cancelled.
Brandon Lee incident?
@@lizardog And when exactly was The Crow cancelled?
Can WatchMojo not lean into that shit with such a rage-baiting title like “movies that were CANCELLED” like we see you
So tired of that radical conservative buzzword. People suffer the consequences of their actions; they don't get "canceled." I'm glad accountability is still a thing in the U.S., though many are against it.
Let's cancel this movie cause bill Murray made a joke. What is this world coming too?
Pissant gen Z baby bullshit

He leaped onto a women. straddled her and force kissed her. She was terrified.
Sound likes you were there..... but forgot to mention they had masks, and 100,000 dollars was her price for a joke. No malice, no ill intent. Def a lapse in judgement, trying to be funny
Why are many people getting butt hurt over jokes nowadays?
Stupid children whose parents didnt raise them instead gave them whatever they wanted and acted like their friend instead of, ya know, parenting them
Why are many people insensitive to the pain of others nowadays?
How about Warner Bros. cancels Batgirl movie because of poorly bad storylines.
I wish Masterson could convince me that he isn't what everyone says he is....
I hear you. Kevin Spacey is one of the ten best actors of his generation, but....
@@lizardog True.......and while I can do my best to separate actors from their work (or directors from their work) it sometimes becomes a bit too much.....which is sad considering how many people are working on series and movies.
You guys forgot to include the honorable mentions! Please fix up the video to include the honorable mentions!
Due Date was a fantastic movie!
That was not on the list, just some clips used.
Yup 👍
A very excellent Top 10 video, and I enjoy the Narration by Ryan as always. Moving on, I have a few ideas for the next Top 10 videos in the future:
Top 10 Times Movie Heroes Learns Important Moral Lessons
Examples: The Lion King, Zootopia, Iron Man and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Top 10 Old Senior Fight Scenes in Movies
Examples: Happy Gilmore Vs Bob Barker from Happy Gilmore, Yoda Vs Count Dooku from Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones, Carl Frederickson Vs Charles Muntz from Up and Razor Vs The Kid from Grudge Match.
Top 10 Nicest Things Homer Simpson Has Done
Examples: "Do It For Her", Fulfilling His Late Mother's Request, Bringing Santa's Little Helper Home and Saving Springfield from a Time Bomb.
Top 10 Times Peter Griffin Got What He Deserved On Family Guy
Examples: Getting Hit by a Sack of Nickles, Never Invite a Puma on Set, Meg Putting Him in His Place and Getting Destroyed by Liam Neeson.
Anyways: Magnificent list as always, and hopefully these ideas I gave could be taken under consideration, and if not, then I understand. You have good day.
Perhaps you should suggest WM make a list where the title describes the theme and the 10 things actually followed the rules/theme of the title.
I'll keep that in mind thank you.
Like him or not Louie CK is one of the greatest comedians of this generation and he is fully back selling out madison garden.
Second chances exist and should always exist.
I'm surprised that rust wasn't on here
It hasn't been cancelled.
Why?
1940s: 18 year olds went to war to fight and knowingly die for their country.
2020s: Bill Murray hurts someone's feelings and it literally shuts down a movie's production.
Ur comparing two very different things
@@livy9169 Yes I am, just saying that wills are much easier broken now.
@@logicalrationalfishing7481 you're wrong.
And those eighteen-year-olds shouldn't have been dying in jungle so some rich men could make more money.
It is a shame about the midnight rider movie I really would of love to see that movie
Will Kevin Spacey ever come back?
Cancelled = the consequences of your words/actions.
Or the consequences of false accusations Made Against you By Parties With Malicious Intent and propagated By a tribe authoritarian, morally compromised Fools who Jump on any Protest That Makes Them virtuous to Their dim wit peers despite A complete lack of Evidence In Many Cases, depending On their Emotional Reactions To Dictate Guilt. They Ruin Innocent Peoples Lives And Feel good about it. Its The exact Opposite of Justice.
Here's an idea for a future video: *top ten weirdly good TH-cam animations.*
I take it none of these movies consisted of one character killing three or eight thousand others over the course of 90 minutes. Non stop killing gore fests always get the green light. Thought that was all supposed to change after Columbine. Just food for thought.
Can you do comic book origin of Marvel's Prodigy?
If there's one actor I can believe is a true asshole in his private life, it's Bill Murray.
I've actually heard he's mischievous, but not an a-hole. I guess he can be a very friendly and relatable human being. That's could be why some people don't like him. He doesn't stage himself, unlike other celebrities, and that's what people like about him.
There are much more notable a-holes in Hollywood than Murray. And besides, not everyone can be Keanu Reeves.
Louie CK did nothing wrong and has already made a comeback
I have not read down through all of the comments, so if this has been previously mentioned, I apologize. What about Rust?
What about The Crow?
