      Can we get you to break out the radar gun and compare the slingtech of this Bauer Nexus ADV to your True AX9? Love to know if it provides any realistic advantage to the speed of your clappers or snap shots.

      Use the stick for your games for a month or two, then review it and examine the blade (honestly). I get it that Bauer want you to give it a nice review, but any stick out of box feels snappy. I'd like to see the top of the blade after getting slashed after 10 games.

      Chase Kirby This is a public rink in the east side of Toronto called Withrow park. I can think of at least 5-6 rinks within 10-20 minutes of this one, just in one neighbourhood alone (Jimmy Simpson, Greenwood, Monarch, Riverdale, Dieppe, Kew Gardens) Some rinks are much more busy than others. All have great ice though 👌

    • @McQuokka
      @McQuokka 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joshua Haubrick ...do you play hockey? If so, you'd know that even if you tape it, the tape will not absorb the impact repeatedly of receiving passes, salshing, stick lifting, skate blades cross it in battles, etc...if there is a hole behind it, the hole doesn't hold the tape. This is a gimmick that won't last imo. I'd like to see this stick after a few months use. Ipso facto the blade has less structural integrity that a full blade. Take 1000 slappers with this twig then check its condition.

    Back in the 70's growing up in Saskatchewan hockey was a religion. This stick reminds me of how we cut out our blades to play with sponge pucks. Picture it without the part above the slot and the tip level with the bottom of the slot. It added a definite whipping effect. Nice skills by the way 👍

    I’m glad I found this: I invented the slot technology thru Christian bros. The stick was called the rinker. The rinker was designed for ball hockey, still the best design ever for using a ball. As ball hockey was becoming more popular the stick was made of Deleon plastic, I tried in vain to convince Christian to make a graphite design for high end players, they wanted a low end market stick. I wish I had pushed my patent more to this stick and the ball version. I still have a prototype graphite version of the rinker.
    I was well ahead of the time.

      @@Islanders83 no, just feed the tape through. If you do it your way the tape come off.

    • @Islanders83
      @Islanders83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Twobarpsi no it won’t. Cut it from the front of the blade (the side you shoot with) and the part that was covering the hole now sticks to the back of the blade. The excess tape will be high up enough to not affect a backhand shot. Use heat (from a lighter, torch or stovetop flame) to get the adhesive on the tape to stick better if needed.
      Feeding 5 feet of tape thru the hole would be a pain in the ass.

    If you tape it traditionally, doesn't that kind of reduce the bottom part of the blade's ability to flex as much as it could? It's not like the tape is a super solid structure, but I still feel it could partially inhibit the entire purpose of the design.
    I would tape the bottom part, looping through the hole, and then the top part, also looping through. To leave the hole intact, and the upper and lower separate.

      No, there are thousands of better players in the AHL, European lower leagues etc. He is awesome in stick handling and tricks but that's not what hockey is about as nobody will let you do those tricks but they will run you over. If you put him in an AHL game you would immediately see him being in the wrong place as everybody else is moving 30% faster. Still, he has GREAT, GREAT hands!

      I'd like to see what happens when you block a shot from up close that would normally ramp up from your blade. If the hole catches the edge of the puck (which I would imagine is possible on a hard enough shot even with the hole taped over), that's a lot of force and will also lead to a much different trajectory for the puck.
