Micheal is one of the most underrated emotional guitar players in the world and is a TRUE Guitar GOD.I have ben playing for 45 yrs and I am one of the few guitar players that respect younger guitar players thats notes bring me to my knees.
I've been a huge Michael Schenker fan since the 1970's, and I've been following his entire career since, and I love his fluid-meets-gritty blues riffs-meets-classic Euro melodies in his unique style of phrasing/playing, but I gotta say, with the exception of the album "Thank You 1", I still think his best work was with UFO in the 70's.
I think this was my intro to MSG, I caught it playing on the TV display models at Incirlik Air Base in 1985 . I knew it was MS, and knew it was not UFO, so that started my 40 year MSG ( in all line-ups ) watch party ! Thanks for posting Axeflyerfv ! Incirlik's Rock Night at the club changed after that day ! We went from Van Halen and Journey to UFO, MSG, Queensryche, Y&T, Steeler, and the deeper VH cuts like Unchained and Mean Street .
Great song by the Michael Schenker Group! One of my favorite from this concert in Hammersmith 1983 🙆🙏😎🎸 Respect for Gary Barden and the rest of the band members, too! This 1983 concert was epic and historical....it had such a magic! And several songs from this concerts are the best versions for me, like the Captain Nemo, Into the Arena and the special combination with Scorpions for the song "Doctor, Doctor".
NEVER change this lineup.Talk about kick ass.Good to see you still around Micheal.Met you back in the mid 80s and we jammed in Germany while I was with BOC.
WHEN I was 16..i cried bcoz i cudnt play AOTMA solo..i watched the Hammersmith Odeon live video up to 14-1/2(14.5) times in a week..rewind/play/pause the AOTMA solo for dozens.. IT was in 1984..until now i still love this solo.. ~wa CAYA lu ar MICHAEL~
The voice of "Stranglehold," ...one of the coolest songs ever! I would have loved to hear him do more with Michael. I saw him with Ted many years ago, and he became one of my favorite singers. It's funny how many people think Ted sang that. Similar tone.
Jeezussss, could Gary Barden's pants be any tighter? Still, great singer (though he had a tough time with that note at 2:26, probably due to said pants cutting off his circulation!) That 1981 MSG album is a gift from the gods.
@vubear Sorry my friend for replying twice! I forgot! Ok' to make that bell sound ,he crosses the first 4 strings starting from top to down! ( He pulls the strings over the other! & a short strum!!
@NWOBHManiac He played very briefly with MSG,on this tour & Guest Lead Vocals on MSG Built to Destroy album! Great singer & guitarist, my favorite side man for Ted Nugent! thnx for watching!
@AXEFLYERFV Yeah man, for me there are so many seminal versions on that album, courvosier concerto being my fave. I've always wanted to be able to see him play that one up close and learn it for myself. 30 years of guitar playing & it's still a mystery to me how he makes the bell sounds going into lost horizons.
how come his tone is so damn amazing?? i think his '83 sound is much better/rounder than his '81 tone but that might be a recording thing i wasn't there!
chris glenn is going to do the current europeon leg of the msg tour!wish i could see it,i had that freak on bass in chicago lol, whats his name with the propeller.lol
Apparently you've never been in a band playing in front of people. Adrenaline sometimes just takes over. And the better the crowd, the more the adrenaline
unfortunately my good friend UFO/MSG is not comercial music,& that's why it would never b on guitar hero or on any of that kind of comercial rubbish, sorry 2 say that but that's how it is!
TO VUBEAR , AM SURE THEY EXIST BUT SO FAR NO LUCK , AM STILL HUNTING FOR THEM! UFO " STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT " & MSG " ONE NIGHT IN BUDOKAN " WOULD BE LIKE THE ULTIMATE ROCK DREAM!!
hahah what's with his little ballerina episode in the beg.when he leaves the drumset lmaoooooooooooooooooooo.....that german boy is funny as all get out!!
Thnx for enjoying the tunes man,I have uploaded many videos of Rock Bottom,Vids. & Audio-Tracks,and it is such a great song full of killer licks,Check this 1 out I just posted : UFO [ ROCK BOTTOM ] LIVE AUDIO-TRACK JAPAN,1994.
And wouldn’t you know it, Schenker during the Gary Barden era, playing one of the greatest solos of all time, and the cameras show about a third of it

Michael and Gary are still rocking on 39 years later.
Schenker has made a great comeback in such a short time, some others never make it back,God Bless him!

Great video and awesome song. Been a fan for a long time. Thanks and keep putting out the original MSG.
Back for more..Thnx axe for keeping the metal alive.Rock on Mike..got the volume on 20.
Such an underrated guitar player Scheinker
Sadly, Rolling Stone staff fell asleep when determining the top 100. Id have put him in the top ten and maybe number one or 2 behind Hendrix.
@@michaelpuderramirez2331 at least top ten for me

Best MSG song ever. The guitar solo at the end could make other high profile guitarists blush.

Classy and great guitar player. One of my favorite rock songs.
Amen to that, brother. Ever since I saw the Rock Bottom vid from 95 that AXE posted, I've been addicted to Michael's playing.
this is one of my fav song of all my 21 years of life :D
What a song, that's only him, the one and only mad axeman!
The voice of "Stranglehold," ...one of the coolest songs ever! I would have loved to hear him do more with Michael. I saw him with Ted many years ago, and he became one of my favorite singers. It's funny how many people think Ted sang that. Similar tone.
Actually it was Derek St. Holmes that sang on Stranglehold. Although Ted sand the part “sometimes you want to start higher”...
This was one of the greatest albums of all time.
UNREAL....Just knows how to make that guitar talk..!!!
unbelievable guitar player... simply the best hard rocker
Michael is still badass
I can't wait for the new Schenker tour with Gary Barden!!
Easily the best version. I've loved this for 30 years.
I do prefer the Live at Budokan version.

Fucking Brilliant Michael, had tiped a few and came back for some great music.Cheers!

I realy miss the cozy double bass drum thump.
There's Schenker. And then there's the rest.
@vubear Am very sure there is footaga, this should've been released long time ago but I don't know why it wasn't!!
I couldn't agree more, thnx for your great comment!
how come his tone is so damn amazing??
i think his '83 sound is much better/rounder than his '81 tone but that might be a recording thing i wasn't there!
Great performance. I think Schenker is hinting his Beethoven influence at 3:31.
Derek St.Holmes?! Wtf? i didn`t had a clue he played with MSG also :)

Mikey was on drugs
Apparently you've never been in a band playing in front of people. Adrenaline sometimes just takes over. And the better the crowd, the more the adrenaline

Have you heard him or seen the 2008/2009 live vids, posted here on youtube lately?
That's exactly what I thought 26 years ago.

Any one know if they have this version of the song on an audio CD ?
axeflyer, were there any videos of "one night at the boudokan"?

Ted is a good drummer, but MSG was not a fit for him. That baggy sounding snare makes me want to vomit. Great song, great album, great band.
Robin McAuley was way better, way better
