Now searching for "Capex" by companies becomes piece of cake for retail investors. The quality of teaching is unparalleled. Ismohit and SOIC team are givers, adding values everytime. I am thinking about asset turnover and calculate that for becoming a member of SOIC teaching. I can't calculate as it always comes up as infinity. The SOIC membership changed my perspective of investing and I feel anyone who wants to learn investing from scratch will be a part of the world-class teaching of SOIC. The amount I paid and the value I get can't be compared. The value of his teaching is out of the world. Wishes you all the best. Blessed to be a part of SOIC tribes. Standard disclaimer: It is my personal opinion. Nobody has paid a penny for writing this. 😃

I started my career in 2005. I started investing in MF's from 2006. But the 2008 crises left me with eye watering (although notional) losses. I stopped investing and completely detached myself from the market. I re-started my investment journey in 2016 and when I opened my MF folios after 8 years, the CAGR returns indeed opened my eyes and I realized what an opportunity I had lost during those years. I wish I had met you during that period. Maybe by now, I would have been leading a peaceful retired life pursuing my hobbies 😄.

More important question is - can the capex translate to sales growth? It is important also to look at sector dynamics and management capabilities.

Hi Ishmohit, CWIP may not result into higher topline every time. For ex. if CWIP is into improving business efficiency, then impact will be seen incrementally over long period of time. For ex. PI industries told, during recent concall, part of their capex is going into such expense, so will it reflect immediately into top line growth?

    • @SOICfinance
      @SOICfinance  ปีที่แล้ว +5

Agreed, PI is constantly working to improve its asset turns by investing in tech and asset improvement measures. Capex is half the job done, one needs to understand what type of capex and asset turns the project will generate. Few companies can grow with minimal capex, which is happening in the case of PI.

    1)valuations
    2) CFO/EBITDA- 0.29 (although I understand that it is a B2B business but can't understand why it is still so less.. is it right to judge this business acc. to this ratio?)

@SOIC - IMHO, CWIP > that of previous yr is not an ideal criteria bcoz some Capex's take time to mature. So, here, we would be penalizing the companies having high previous yr capex that is yet to reflect in capacity or profits just bcoz their capex in current yr is lower. Thoughts?

Hey soic I had a question
On trent I had read your blog and annual report
And watch a similar pattern of business tata trent has star bazar under their wings who does offline and online
Yet their online present hasn't been a great side to watch
Tata has acquired big basket don't you think both these entities can get together to be a synergy, and gain more of the market share... Both player in the online space are being cannibal
As big basket being under trent is much better for the company
What are your thoughts on it

Great insight for the company doing capex.
I have a question regarding this
If the whole sector is doing through capex then it should be taken as a sector growth or it is a sign of over supply in the coming future. I can recall an example from the past which is capex in Pharma company during 2015. I think this is currently happening in paints and cement.
Please provide your opinion on this.
