I make vinyl decals I sell on eBay. I mail in letter envelopes with a stamp. If I want tracking I ask the post office to add insurance to the letter. It costs an additional 2.ish dollars for insurance and I have the tracking. I have to explain it to every new clerk at the PO but works every time.

Great question. "Do not bend envelope" changes the tracking to a class of package. It's no longer a letter, but a Parcel, with... free tracking👍 one barcode- "USPS Tracking". You no longer use green, 2 part return receipt.
So, would I just stick a USPS tracking label on that? Does it have to be over certain amount for a USPS tracking label or like you said it's considered a carboard box so it does not matter the cost of the postage?
Very tricky. In theory, yes. It's best to make it stiff inside. Add a piece of cardboard to seal the deal. If not, they might at the counter try to sell you $7 of cerified-receipt postage.✌️

Nothing about what should be written on the envelope, what postage to apply, how exactly to obtain a tracking number. This video was made to get people in your door.

Your rigid envelope has to be at least 1/4 inch thick to qualify as a parcel and have a tracking number.
wrong! needs to be 3/4"
1/4" makes it a non-machinable LETTER

Eljay, International is a different rate $$$$. Not a good idea. Buy $1 of insurance and get a free tracking number- only at the Post Office counter.

11x14 or less apply. If it is smaller, write DO NOT BEND and it is eligible.
