I did a top 10% ranking on my 6th complete lap at Nurburgring with the RB, but had to suffer A LOT in order to do the same here (now on a mid 2:15). CS tyres are certainly an issue, and coupled with the end of sector 1 and the whole sector 2, I took almost a day to understand what was wrong with my driving, tune the driving assist, and then eventually get it done correctly. For over half a year, I have been driving with minimal driving assist (other than AT) and started out with TCS 3 as the lone assist. Then as I realize how far I am from having sufficient control over the car, I switched on the ASM and countersteering and got it done once I figured out the middle sector. I don't understand why, but the developers are seemingly making life difficult for the controller people, especially for those on AT.

As being said many times. My respect for controller driving. I would by far not be able to
do a proper lap on that one. Not even sure how I managed to do that stuff on GT on the PS One 😅
But a 2:15 mid is already Gold, is it still? Did not check the current Record and Gold border.

@@aubitube Yes, the cut-off is still 2:15.8xx, but my own personal goal is to make it into top 10% world ranking consistently (the current gold cut-off is just outside of it), and I seriously doubted that I could do it at all this time as I was stuck at a low 2:16 and was not even able to repeat my best 2:16 time for quite a number of laps. It is not until I remembered that I can "tune" the car with driving assists that I eventually found a way to drive more stably and get within top 10%.
Usually, for a TT that has more than 10% players getting gold, it should no longer be a problem for me to get within top 10%, which shows how this TT is counter-intuitive for my driving style. I believe it is partially because of how the sector 2 corners are placed and with the S2000, I often either braked too much or too little or accelerated too much too quickly. Anyway, I will take a break and go back to the Nurburgring 24H TT. That one is also a suffering as they intentionally powered up the car to make it less stable at the corner exits.
