ASL has been in quite the films in recent years. Wonderstruck (2017), A Quiet Place (2018), Baby Driver (2017), that new Planet of the Apes films, and even in the Anime A Silent Voice (from 2016). It's not like there's suddenly a wave of ASL in new film or anything, but I like the idea that it's getting people to learn it, if not because they know someone who is deaf, but just so they know it incases. it's pretty cool. This is the BEST cover of Sandman I've ever heard. I've been following Metallica since 1990 and I've heard loads of Sandman covers. This easily tops them all.
This is amazing in so many ways. Until now, I never even considered the fact that sign interpretation of lyrics could add an element to the performance that a hearing person would really enjoy (and learn from). Everyone is a standout talent to be sure, but Paul has hit it out of the park. It's wonderful to see that by doing this, he's bringing music to so many more people. Thinking about the intro "bass buzz", it occurred to me that as a hearing person, the vibration *felt* is part of the experience. In fact, coincidentally, I was thinking that while listening with headphones a few days ago. They sound great, but there's something missing: the vibration. And, of course, I don't mean the vibration that's transferred to the ear. I mean the vibration you feel via the floor through your feet and internal organs. This brought me to conclude that "Sonic Shoes" should be a thing. Not just for the deaf or those with hearing impairments (though that would be the primary use case), but to enhance the sensory experience when listening via headphones as well. Somewhere between a massive woofer and a haptic engine, there must be a device that could be fitted into sneakers or shoes to reproduce those low frequencies. Anyway, I like to think it's possible. Terrific video/performance! I shall watch the movie for sure!

WTF IS THIS ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE?!? Dude.
re la la me me me do do do ti
This is AMAZING. I wasn't expecting this awesomeness.
What a collab, Elise! This is awesome!
woa, the lyrics hit way different the way you sing them. i've never been too into metallica, but this version rocks!
For sure. & the visual signing gives a different vibe to the interpretation.
I haven't been "into" Metallica in years but I've always maintained that their songwriting is often overlooked because of their sound. Songs like One, The Unforgiven, Nothing else matters, Until it sleeps, King Nothing and many more are all REALLY well written lyrically.
Agreed. I don't like Metallica at all. But this is excellent.
Wow. Elise and Travis. I've got a crush. Drumming was amazing. Enter Sandman, though, doesn't seem as full without the running guitar riff.
Hi Elise, Nice to hear from you again. That you deal with sign language, respect. ...GREAT song and MUSIC! ! !☺😀💪❤
YEAAAAHHHH! It's moving !!! What talent! I still love what you do so much. And you are well surrounded. He has class with his cowboy boots !!! Divine beauty! Thanks.
Can’t express the disappointment, all the energy that this track had just left!
My daughter is deaf , we put the speaker face down on the floor and had a dance party making chicken parm for dinner. Thank you do much please , pleas ,pleas ... Do more of these , thank you
До мурашек!
She just blows me away with every new video i see...and what is she, 19 now? 20? Hit Like a Girl winner, plays all instruments in her videos, all audio AND video production...probably graduated berklee at the ripe old age of 7... I get the feeling this whole badass concept was primarily hers, but...wow. i saw a metal show at a local bar a few yrs back and there was group of deaf metal heads 🤘 there for the show with an interpreter, signing all the lyrics. Even had some lead singer moves. She was awesome. I thought it was the coolest thing id ever seen.
.and thats a song ive never even liked. Until now of course. New favorite Wow.
