The algorithm gods brought me this and I couldn't me more amazed. On full display, is a musical virtuoso in every possible sense. Being able to play one instrument well requires thousands of hours... and being able to play 5+ instruments, sing, and mix, is a commitment no meer mortal would dare to achieve. It's absolutely astonishing. I am hooked. How are you not the most famous and talented artist of this generation?
You've inspired me to pick my instruments back up again and make music, after a 10 year hiatus. Thank you for walking in your gift and shining your light. You know how to tell you're onto something? People come out of the woodwork to hate on what you're doing. Good on you sister. Keep on keepin on.
Damn, 6 years and I still come back to this cover mashup. 2018 was an amazing year with so many ups and downs, and hearing this always brings all those memories right back. This will likely stick with me for a long time to come. Wish there was a wav or flac file I could buy
The way she exhales the lyrics, the way she adjusts her hair, the way the light bounces off her cheeks... I was in another universe for 4 minutes and 23 seconds
I come back to this song every now and then. Sometimes, to reminisce on the first time I heard it and where I was at I'm life, other times when I'm going threw something. Today, my gf of almost 5 years told me we are growing apart and she can't be in this situation anymore. And as hard as it was to realize she was right. I've never been in this situation before, and I'm experiencing these new emotions and thoughts. But this song puts me at ease. :) Thank you so much for making your music.
- In the 0:16, a red prism appears behind the guitar for the first time in the video. (keep that in mind); - The all duration of the video is 4:23, It means she touches her hair every 16,43 seconds on average; - In 1643, Isaac Newton was born; - When Newton is mentioned, one of the first things that comes to mind is Newton's prism experiment. Newton's prism also evokes pink floyd's "prism" album. You can see the "PULSE" album cover poster of Pink floyd many times on the right side of the room*. (*not dark side of the moon ehehe) - Pink floyd's "Pulse" album was released in 1995. It is also the year that Foo Fighter released their first album. The hair showed all the truths to feed my silly soul obsessed with finding worthless mysteries. lol

So many musicians stick to one instrument, when new instruments are not so hard to learn. She is a pure drummer, who took the time to learn the basics of other instruments. What she plays is not hard. Her drumming is hard.
N As an experienced drummer, I can only say about this grouve that it is very simple, the fill that she used -I would say- is the very basic fill that is being learnt when you start playing on drums. Her finger-technique is not very smooth and is not being practiced out. Moreover she makes unneccesary movements.

And it didn't really occur to me until my most recent viewing that she is actually NOT EVEN SHOWING OFF when she's doing the drums. She's only doing it that flawlessly because that's what it requires. Nothing less than perfection will do.
This sh*t's literally so good it's transcendental. It restores my faith in humanity and what we are capable of if we truly put our heart into it.
This woman was fucking ready for quarantine.
😂
Ok... THAT'S funny and so fricken true. I'm still laughing. AND how did she know, three years in advance? 🤔
Lol 😂... 👍
fucking just did a spit take lmao
🤣 is doing good
She walked into that one..
I've watched this video at least 100 times. Its a masterpiece of a mashup
When she started ever so gently slaying the drums at the end... 😮🙌 That's when I knew
Knew what? Please enlighten me.
@@dalton412 that she knows how to play the drums?
I know what you mean man. All of a sudden smooth, expert touch on the skins.
The quick burst from 16's to 32's on the hats at 3:30 is amazing. So light a touch and a laid back action, just perfect.
She also has a very interesting stick grip. I don't know how she has the control that she has with that grip but whatever works.
Man, I wish this was on Spotify. Those drums at the end are so goooood
aye! my fav bit too
Better on vinyl…
If she had a ponytail while recording this, I’m pretty sure she could also play a violin, a viola, a clarinet, a saxophone, two electric guitars (at the same time) rap, and re-sing the whole thing in French.
Yeah but that would be missing the point. It's a shampoo commercial!
Ha Ha Ha Ha perfect
So you are jealous because a woman has more talent than your "ponytail"..?
@@mikeboncheck5555 The joke is that she spends so much time fixing her hair, that a ponytail would have kept her hands free for more instruments.
seededsoul thank you for understanding me
This girl just has so much talent , it looks so effortless , she is hardly breaking a sweat , brilliant work, love this!❤
Everybody is commenting on Elise, the camera guy and the light guy. But no one is noticing the beautiful reverb on the vocals. I notice you guy who made the reverb plugin, you did good too!

I was watching like wow she’s really good, and then her silky smooth crisp drumming came in and I was like where’d my pants go
That drumming had me too !!
😆
I can't decide what I like the most: the musical arrangement, the technical skill it took to play it, or the sheer beauty of two songs that compliment each other so well. I share this video all the time. Eternal love.
Who's still here in October 2024?!?? Love you Elise
nobody is talking about her drumming skills. They are actually really good. She has nice timing.
Sweeneytv - Why is it necessary to point out the obvious? Because she is a girl? ;-)
Not quite my tempo!
Go check out her drum competition vids
Actually that was something I was super impressed with in this. She reminds me of Stewart Copeland, the drummer from The Police.
Everyone's too busy making jokes about her hair touching.
Lyrics
I guess you wonder where I've been
I searched to find a love within
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Well I'm in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
Some people go around the world for love
But they may never find what they dream of
What you won't do, to do for love
You tried everything but you don't give up
In my world only you
Make me do for love what I would not do
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
But I'm in a daze from your love, you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can't let go
But then I only want the best, it's true
I can't believe the things I do for you
What you won't do, do for love
You've tried everything but you won't give up
In my world, only you make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
Make me do for love what I would not do
@Nightingale99 ???
@Nightingale99 What do you mean "agreeing"?
God, that bass is crisp as hell. Everything about this is fantastic. Thank you for blessing my ears.
Slain once she started snapping those infectious drum rhythms. Beautiful talented groove angel.
The cymbal stutter gets me every. damn. time.
Damn, 6 years and I still come back to this cover mashup. 2018 was an amazing year with so many ups and downs, and hearing this always brings all those memories right back. This will likely stick with me for a long time to come. Wish there was a wav or flac file I could buy
Ok really no one is talking about how smooth that snare is? Like wtf its perfect
cuntent everyone busy looking at her drums, not the snares
@Jayden Tan she started out on drums at age 12
She is an accomplished drummer backed by Pearl
The way she exhales the lyrics, the way she adjusts her hair, the way the light bounces off her cheeks... I was in another universe for 4 minutes and 23 seconds
Aka “love at first sight”
This comment is so accurate. Everything about her is mesmerizing. What I wouldn't do....
*adjusts hair in 4/4 time*
Okay, this was funny, then I actually counted...holy hair.
Distracting
ha ha ha ha ha ;) Amazing!
Is it really? I count 4/4 AND 5/4 😜
might be a way for her to keep time. I've know musicians use really weird ways of counting time
I come back to this song every now and then.
- Elise touches her hair for 16 times.
- In the 0:16, a red prism appears behind the guitar for the first time in the video. (keep that in mind);
- The all duration of the video is 4:23, It means she touches her hair every 16,43 seconds on average;
- In 1643, Isaac Newton was born;
- When Newton is mentioned, one of the first things that comes to mind is Newton's prism experiment. Newton's prism also evokes pink floyd's "prism" album. You can see the "PULSE" album cover poster of Pink floyd many times on the right side of the room*. (*not dark side of the moon ehehe)
- Pink floyd's "Pulse" album was released in 1995. It is also the year that Foo Fighter released their first album.
The hair showed all the truths to feed my silly soul obsessed with finding worthless mysteries. lol
you okay there bud?
iIluminati CONFIRMED!!!
@Onur Ertuğrul
You just exposed the divine matrix spinning its web behind perfection.
The wonders of magical thinking...
Dude, very impressive.
This girl is a drummer first. I don't normally like mash-ups but this was pheNOMENAL! Kudos on all that talent!
LOOOVE her drumming. And yes to everything else ( but this Foo Fighters part just went against it for me.) Still... beautiful.
Again...how can almost 9K people give this a thumbs down?! This is a talented gal and is merging music. She is talented beyond and it would appear that 9,000 people are jealous of her talent. Keep rockin Girl and pay no attention to these haters!
Bobby Caldwell could be one of them…his likes are way less than Elise’s. To be fair, Elise’s cover is better than Bobby’s original 😄
Because jealousy is a stinky cologne. Blown away by this. i now have hope for the future of music.
@@pallavmishra this is nice.
But nah dawg. Bobby’s is too good.
Some people have gnarled hands due to arthritis, barely capable of holding their device let alone hitting the button they hoped to. Others are deaf and blind. But I’m going with straight up musical retards. This girl is exceptional and performed the song with unusual musical sensitivity, along with multi-instrument ability, fine vocals, and physical beauty. What’s not to love here?
Jealously

Very cool! I saw this years ago, now it came up again. This time I have a 5 month old daughter. I am a drummer, her mother (my wife) is a bass player. Our parents are all drummers or bass players too. This is kinda how I imagine our daughter to be in many moons to come. A lover of music, and a 'dab hand' at anything she wants to play. Good luck and happy playing to you. All the best : ) Keep it up

6 years out, this is still one of my favorite youtube music finds.
I love how it sounds. Fusion of grunge and jazz. Very relaxing, you rock!
So many musicians stick to one instrument, when new instruments are not so hard to learn.
She is a pure drummer, who took the time to learn the basics of other instruments.
What she plays is not hard. Her drumming is hard.
Thankful that someone else finally picked up on this.
Well, I wouldn't say she is a pure drummer, but all in all the song was great to be heard.
She's learned more than the basics of the rest and she's mainly a pianist
Look her up then
N As an experienced drummer, I can only say about this grouve that it is very simple, the fill that she used -I would say- is the very basic fill that is being learnt when you start playing on drums. Her finger-technique is not very smooth and is not being practiced out. Moreover she makes unneccesary movements.
To this day, this is still my go-to reference for those that think looping doesn't take talent or skill. ♥
Looping is merely a tool. Some people use it poorly but in the hands of a true musician, it can be very effective
