The Velotric Discover 2 is here! In this video, I take a close look at the new features of this ebike, including the new torque sensor, more powerful 750W motor, updated display and cockpit (all backed by a two year warranty).
I also compare it to the previous Discover 1 model and discuss whether the upgrades make this new and improved Discover 2 worth it. Could this be one of the best new commuter eBikes so far in 2024?

Very detailed and thorough review! Thanks Rider Guide
Glad you liked it!
Good shit. I seem another dude ride it on the beach and said it wasn't good for off road. I've never seen a trail made out of sand. I really wish they made it closer to 1500 though. Maybe in the off season.
Looks Like an awesome bike! Great Review
Love the delivery of this video! Great content. And pretty sweet lookin bike!
Thanks very much!
This is awesome. Thank you
Very well built
It’s really solid for the price even compared to some things that are way more expensive! IPX7 Battery / IPX6 Frame is very impressive too.
Great review - thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your review. I know exactly where you were riding as it is one of my routes! Velotric is definitely on my radar now.
Thanks for stopping by!
I believe you are incorrect on tire size....it comes with a 27.5 x 2.4 inch tire not a 26 inch
Thanks for the correction!
Wow! Similar features to Rad's new Radster eBikes. Wish there was a Velotric dealer near my home in Western Canada so I can test ride. Great review. Thanks!
Thanks very much!
Thank you for the review. Do you know if Ortlieb panniers will fit it's rack? Velotric Discover 2
Not sure honestly!
It will be interesting to see some comparisons on performance between this and the recently announced Rad Power Radster Road. Close in price, but interesting differentiators like the Radster having a claimed higher torque for it's motor, but that the Velotric has the lower frame weight and price of the two, and higher weight and rack capacity.
Side note: Whenever I've seen an Altus derailleur(anecdotally) they've been 8 gears to better differentiate from the Tourney. Glad to see more bikes have been moving to the Altus over the past year or two though. It always felt like the choice of Tourney was really cutting corners on the bike side of an e-bike.
Thanks for stopping by & the feedback!
Have you ridden the mokwheel asphalt or aventon pace 500.3? Wondering how this one compares?
I didn’t like the torque on the pace but I did like the mokwheel one and wondering if the torque on this bike is more like the mokwheel or aventon?
Haven’t ridden either of those yet but will put them on our list to try and review if possible.
This! This (including the larger frame) is what I wanted when I bought the Discover 1. I may need to upgrade.
Definitely seems like they are listening to their customers!
Looks Great!
Thanks very much! -Vosk
Looks pretty great!!
Great bike! Thanks for stopping by.
I got a Zebra but this is making me want a 2nd bike for family riding with me.
N+1 = Win 😁
I'm torn between this one and the Summit 1. Does the Discover 2 feel stable on the gravel with the road tires?
D2 can do it but if you plan on regularly being in the gravel and dirt, summit 1 is probably the way to go. Link in case you decide to buy: geni.us/Summit1 to Get $60 Off Use Code: riderguided2v1rv60 at checkout. 🤘
Great features but just a little out of my price range. $1.400 and I would buy!
Thanks for the feedback!
I was wondering if you noticed much frame flex on the step thru?
We did not!
What happened to the front fender on the new (mint green) one?
Not sure to be honest!
What magical place do you live in that has such wonderful bicycle paths and roads?
Las vegas Nevada
Ayo thats sick!
It sure is!
I want one now!
It’s a great ebike for sure!
Yeah but looking at their order page it looks too me some features showed here don't come standard. ie: The turn signal doesn't come standard on the 2, you have to order it separate adding to the price.
Might have been adjusted!
Hi @AdrepKeith, I'm afraid you're mistaken. The turn signals on the Discover 2 are integrated into the rear light and are not a separate accessory.
just bought a discover 1... gah why no heads up on this @velotric??!?!
Hate when that happens. Still a great ebike! Could always sell it to a friend and upgrade to a D2. ;)

Two completely different bikes, $500 dollars more
No front fender?
I never installed it, but it comes with one
Great review but you need to keep both hands on your grips. 😂
Fair enough!
Old display looks *far* easier to see outside 🙃
This one is very decent to be honest!
The website says this bike has 27.5 inch wheels.
Thanks for the correction!
Start telling what you don't like about the products you review or your videos sounds like a sales pitch/advertisement for the brand.
There is no way yall like every single product and product you review
Thanks for your feedback! Stay safe
Wheels are 27.5: not 26.
You're right, the Discover 1 wheels are 26 inches. Discover 2 goes up to 27.5 inches
Stop waving your hands!
Haha
