One guest that would be really interesting in the podcast is the people from anime world order. They are one of the oldest anime podcast still active and they know a lot of conversions.
Good episode! It's always really interesting to listen to what creators are thinking about their own content and their place in the scene. The fanmail part was funny and yes I would watch a video from you about subs vs. dubs. It's nice that you bring up being able to trim down your content again, because the pitfall of wanting to cover absolutely everything over making a focused piece on a specific topic is something my mind still falls into.
Your talk around 28:00 comparing anime content to movie and video game content is interesting for me, because anime having high quality analysis is a huge part of what keeps me in the fandom. I love comic books and animation full stop, regardless of country of origin or style. But the kind of analysis made by you, joe, stevem, cynic, shaybs, trixie, replay and so on; the plethora of text bloggers like tundra or neichus; the whole sakuga movement; it feels like there's a lot more on anime than other animation schools or industries. There are some people in the sphere who go beyond anime, but considering that anime is a subset of animation and not the other way around, I feel like the proportions of analysis to other types of content in anime is actually very high compared to other media. This might just be because I found myself in this bubble and I don't know how to get out, but that's been my experience with anime analysis compared to other media.
This has honestly become one of my favorite podcasts recently. Ya'll deserve way more views
Thank you kindly 🙏🙏 We're out here grinding so hopefully the views will come.
