    Lol Yep, its plug and play, except for the 1000 panels to be removed and clipped back in. Thanks for the video. Very informative.

      Lol. The RDX idle stop off switch IS buried in there, thanks Honda….It’s still worth the disassembly effort to get rid of that pesky idle stop 🙃

    FISHING WIRE SUGGESTION, Definitely use a flashlight from the bottom to see where the wire needs to go down. It goes toward the engine at the top and comes out at the bottom on the front (engine) side of the metal frame. I tried for 20 minutes looking on the wrong side, thinking there was no path. The instructions were excellent, I failed to use the flashlight trick.

    Looks great and simple.....but hope I can replicate same without snapping any of the clips . Secondly my RDX 2020 infotainment screen is displaying Touchpad not available after the screen gone blank, any suggestion or help to get my screen back and touchpad working?

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just go slowly and follow the video step by step. You can definitely do it carefully and not break any clips.
      For the trackpad not working, did something get spilled onto it? The only suggestion I would have for that would be to disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 min and try and reboot the infotainment system. I know those RDXs had quite a bit of infotainment and display issues

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It may seem scary, but They really do come off that easy! If you live in cold weather environment, you may want to turn your heater on and warm the car interior up first, that’s about the only thing I can think of that would make it slightly more difficult, if the car interior was cold. Just follow along with the video and recommended places to grab/pry on during removal of each panel.

    I thought you disable the on/off idling feature by pushing the button below the dash. Why dismantle the panels for a "permanent" solution?

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The button on the dash only disables the idle stop for that specific trip. Each time the vehicle is restarted, the idle stop turns back on. For those who don’t want to have to press the button each drive and be able to forget about it all together, we provide a more permanent solution.

    nice if it could be installed. goy one but on a 2021 acura rdx there is no space at all going down to aux power. it is sealed off
    big waste of money.

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry you are having trouble. I would suggest to place a flashlight on bottom and it will shine up through the opening up top and provide a path for the wire to go down. Or use a hard fish wire or bent clothes hanger. There’s plenty of room but there is other wiring in that area that can block the wire from going down if you just try and blindly fish it down.
      Also if you end up not being able to get it, you’re more than welcome to return your module for a refund at any time

    • @joekagerer

      I felt like I was having the same issue, the wire goes down and then toward the engine not straight down like you and I thought. I got mine installed.

    • @joekagerer

      @@rickmace9022 If you're still trying to install it when you feed the power lines down through the top, don't go straight down, push them towards the front of the car. Underneath the wires will come down on the opposite side of the metal frame from the accessory port and have to come around the frame to be plugged in. Rewatching the video it looks like I may have routed mine differently. Getting the wires down was definitely the hardest part on my 2020 RDX with Tech package, the rest went just as shown in the video.

  • @andee_james

    Can’t you just unplug the start stop plug on the dash and still have the same result. You won’t have to enable it again is the switch is unplugged

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, not. Unplugging the switch will cause a warning light and a “constantly repeating warning message of idle stop system problem”. Really wish Honda would’ve put in a way from the factory to permanently disable as an option.

  • @johnferrier2803
    @johnferrier2803 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Or you could just simply push the start/stop button when you start the RDX to disable the feature when driving the car. Of course, when you turn off the car the default will activate the start/stop. Why go through all the hassle with permanently disabling this feature? You might void your warranty.

    Does this void warranty?

    • @idlestopper7486
      @idlestopper7486  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for your interest! In answer to your question, The Idlestopper will not void your warranty, the manufacturer isn’t allow to void your entire warranty legally because of the Moss/Magnusson Act that was passed in the 1970’s. This act ensures that a warranty cannot be voided in its entirety due to aftermarket parts being installed. At most, the dealer COULD deny a warranty claim on the idle stop off switch and power socket in the console as they are connected directly to the device (and that’s only if they can PROVE the Idlestopper was the fault) All other vehicle systems and parts would still be fully protected under your normal warranty and cannot be affected by you installing the module into your vehicle. The Idlestopper is designed to not fail in any way that can damage the vehicle. It’s a very minimally invasive installation and has no issues with compatibility or durability. It does not reprogram or change any factory settings, it simply presses the off button electronically.
      I haven’t had a single case of a warranty or even parts of a warranty being denied due to the Idlestopper being installed.

      In my case and many others a design flaw in the Acuras would cause it to not start back up after turning of or start up late. This can even occur if the battery is worn but that was not my case. I consider this erratic behavior on the part of the Acura to be a huge safety risk which is why I installed it. Look around there are plenty of TH-cam videos and postings on Acura's flawed design. It's a known issue that Acura has failed to address and this product does. That's my short term solution. My long term solution is to never buy another Acura again.

      @@scala_peritus Good luck. All cars are coming with these "systems" now since it let's them game the EPA numbers. Thanks Obama!
      It's also why there isn't an option to disable it by default. Would defeat the "savings" they get to claim for the EPA numbers.

    This is not worth it. Know why? He makes it look easy but you know a few of these clips will break and it will NEVER go in the same. It's too bad Acura just didn't make it so it remembers when you turn off the auto stop. Simple. But they don't want you to turn it off..
