    This video is what makes TH-cam such a great resource. No BS just clear, concise information. I've been a fan (and patreon supporter) for years, Chris. Thank you for helping us keep these old beauties running properly.

    That camera mount that you made definitely took some time and effort. I appreciate you for taking the time and going through the hassle of making it! Well done and thanks, Chris! (I don't even own a K bike :P)

    I had one of these back in the 90s / early 2000s. 25K miles when I bought it, 55K when I sold it and still running like a champ!

    Thanks for explaining this Chris, I always thought thou, that the vacuumline from the Fuel pressure regulator had to be connected as well with a T- joint on the carbtune line #3? Can you quickly explain why you did not? Thanks, Frank

    • @ChrisR.Harris
      @ChrisR.Harris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Frank, The job was cancelled suddenly and I had 1 day left to film whatever I could before it left. There wasn't a T to be found and it takes a whole day to go to the city to get anything so I went without, in this case. My option was 1: provide video for my viewers, or 2: spend the day going to get a T to sync a good running bike for free before it went away. I chose my viewers and that's why we're here. Thanks, Chris

    • @frankgores9348
      @frankgores9348 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All right, I was just thinking about the technical side ( apparently it does not harm not to connect the vacuumline) allways love to watch your yt movies. Take care. Frank

    My 87 K75C is back firing into the air intake. Any idea what might be causing it? Also having troubles with bleeding brakes. I tried using a pressure bleeder and i could see it bubbling at the bleeder valve but other than that I couldn't get the reservoir to drain into the brake lines.

    hi cris, great vid , could you give view of k75 reliability, ive got the chance of a 60,000 miler, stay safe pal.

    • @ChrisR.Harris
      @ChrisR.Harris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Neale, the K75 is very reliable and the smoothest of BMW's engines. Rear drive pinion splines and corresponding splines in that end of the driveshaft are known wear spots at that mileage. I have a video of how to inspect that on a K100. Otherwise, the occasional seized cooling fan (from lack of use as these engines run very cool) can be found but that's an easy fix too: www.beemerboneyard.com/rafafanmo.html Good luck to you, Chris

    Hi Chris, i enjoy your videos! I adjusted my 2007 R850R to set the idle to 1000 rpm I have to close the adjusting screw quiet a lot. Is there a risk that it would run too reach or is the fuel adjusted automatically?

    • @ChrisR.Harris
      @ChrisR.Harris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The base setting is 1 + 1/4 turns out but you could end up anywhere from 2+1/2 to 0+1/4. You won't be able to make the fuel mixture too rich from there or too lean. You'll be fine but look for issues with the throttle bodies like worn butterfly shaft bushings. Good luck, Chris

    I've synced my 04 1150RT. I turned right cylinder BBS to a half turn and a little more, left to 1 turn. I already cleaned the screws but now everything is OK, runs fine, idle is not too high as before( I was having 1400 rpm, now 1100-1150). 5,7 lt/100 km in city but I feel like I lost %10 power. Is half turn too less for the BBS? If I move with not enough power I hear a single tick noise from left cylinder, like a car about to stall...

    • @ChrisR.Harris
      @ChrisR.Harris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Are you sure all 4 plugs are sparking?

    • @demiratmotovlog
      @demiratmotovlog 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisR.Harris yes they are, the problem is if the BBS is turned more over than half turn, the idle goes up. I wonder if half turn is enough or not, should it definetely be 1,5 turn?

    Great video Chris. I have a 1994 BMW R1100RS with no clutch. needs to be replaced. The bike has 38000 miles on it. Would love to replace the clutch pac but don't have the expertise. Do you know anyone who needs a best friend in Lambertville, NJ 08530 who would be willing to either buy the bike or give me an estimate on repair. I heard it could be over 4 thousand.

    • @ChrisR.Harris
      @ChrisR.Harris  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can replace the clutch for much less! I have video of the R1100RT clutch being replaced. It's basically the same thing. If you decide not to tackle it yourself call my friends at (973) 775-3495
      12pm-5pm EST Mon-Fri and they'll help you with an offer for your RS. Good Luck mtd, Chris
