  • How to service a BMW K75 motorcycle. Major service including engine, gearbox and diff oil changes. Air and fuel filter. Spark plugs. Except for the oil filter wrench and ratchet I only used the tools that come with the bike. I have also done videos on greasing the rear splines, bleeding the brakes, adding hot grips, replacing the radiator and fan and a few other things. The kits are supplied Motorworks UK or Motobins UK.

    Cool. Thanks for the video. P.S. when draining the final drive, or diff, that's a good time to remove the speedometer sensor on top of the final drive and clean it to avoid future sensor problems.

      That is good advice. I had done mine when I greased the drive shaft splines.

    How did you mount your ignition switch? I’d like to remove my plastic dash as you’ve done. It looks much better.
    Thanks

      I went for racing bike style. Just two Jubilee clips. You can see them in my video at 11:17. th-cam.com/video/r4eev3p6g5Q/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks - Great video (Just wondering why the video is in letter-box format with a wide black border?)..

      I film using an Ipod Touch and it creates that effect. It is useful because I can sit the captions in the border so they are easy to read.

      Try Motobins, Motorworks, James Sherlock or Thom Hellebrekers. They sometimes come up on e-bay. Also Facebook Purists and Modifies pages. Just ask.

    Hi I am new in your channel, mainly because I just got a bmw r75, I bought this bike for cheap but need a lot of work, I am trying to do this service but I am stock with the spark plugs, I change two already but third one I can not disconnect the cable, the cable moves but it seems like is biting the sparkplug, I put some W40, but nothing, the cable is the last one that is in the right side, any advice??? Thx a lot

      Hi. This comment has only just come through. There are a couple of things you can try. If the engine is running let it heat up so the rubbers and clips are softened and pull off with pliers or long nosed Mole grips. If it is not running soak the plug cap inside with switch cleaner like Servisol using a long straw as it may have rusted up. Also the BMW caps have a hole in the tag that you can put a strong wire through to help pull them out.

    could you tell me which ignition coil goes to which spark plug? My bike is back firing into the air intake and I want to eliminate mismatched wires as a potential cause. I'm not finding a diagram for it in my manual.

    • @johnnysevengun
      @johnnysevengun  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The coils are arranged in the same order as the spark plugs. Front to #1, middle to #2, and rear to #3.

    Just looking into this bike how have you found it, any advice on what to look out for please

      I rode this bike solidly for 13 years as my main vehicle. I have been riding it less and less as the years go by. The handling and power are excellent once you get used to it. It has been ultra reliable but needs good maintenance. Many of the uncared for bikes have rotted rubber components that need replacing and the electrics need cleaning. The fuel pump must be in good condition. Watch my video for general guidance and then look at the Facebook pages and BMW forums. Hope you find a good one. Support network is huge and there are replacements parts for everything nowadays. th-cam.com/video/r4eev3p6g5Q/w-d-xo.html

    Did you put the bars on? I'd love a little more upright riding position on mine.

    • @johnnysevengun
      @johnnysevengun  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are the standard bars but I have put 25mm risers on them. You can see them here. th-cam.com/video/uGAsBnNeRLk/w-d-xo.html

    Needs a brake fluid and coolant flush as part of a major service.

    • @johnnysevengun
      @johnnysevengun  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And the front fork fluid and the brake pads and shoes checked and the tire pressures and all the electrical connections and all the rubber components checked for perishing - the list goes on and that is why the title says oil, filters, plugs.
