How to Make the Best Kontomire Abomu || Kontomire Abom || Perpetual Asiamah

  • Kontomire Abomu is one of the most requested recipe videos and it's finally here! I promise you will love it so so much! You will enjoy all the layers of flavor that it comes with; pair it with yam or apem and you have the perfect combo! Fit fam, don't worry, I offera low carb option in the video too!
    You will need a few simple ingredients:
    about 1 cup of palm oil
    2 medium onions ( 1 for abomu, 1 for palm oil )
    3 small tomatoes (2 for abomu, 1 for palm oil )
    2-3 scotch bonnet peppers
    about 1/4 cup of turkey berries (kwaunsusua/ abeduro)
    1 medium kobi
    a bunch of kontomire (about 6-8 cups of chopped kontomire/ taro leaves/ cocoyam leaves/ spinach)
    salt to taste
    momoni (about 2 inches) (salted, fermented fish)

    This is one of my favorite Ghanaian meals. I can eat this every single day! I thought kontomire and spinach were the same. Hubby said no! Roasted momoni(What an aroma). Erh?! The way you’re influencing my decision right now noh lol. Team momoni over here🤩. FYI, my hubby is not his bougie, he doesn’t like the extra tomatoes and onions. Sis, we are in 2021, have you started the journey?

    Yesss!!! Been waiting for this! I usually boil everything together. I start with the yam, eggs and koobi then once it starts boiling I add the kontomire.

      Hii..yes please..you can, but if I'm being completely honest, the oil is part of the whole experience lol..if you're making it without the oil, I'd add a little bit more fermented fish to it

    Very beautiful... Next time remove the fins of the koobi after boiling or trim it before boiling.

      @@dolcemariah4123 She literally said that is how SHE likes it & stated the option to take it off if you don't, and please educate us on where it is stated in the Indigenous Ghanaian culinary books that a person is SUPPOSED to take the fins off at all cost by the original creator of Kontomire abom so we learn not to like things the way we like it. I appreciate your distaste of fins on her dish but TRADITION (culture) is dynamic and that is what makes learning NEW things interesting.
