I'm a 59 year old black woman who primarily listens to R&B. After hearing "Cold" I decided to listen to all his albums. Let me tell you I did so without having to skip any songs, even the more country ones. And the only difference between the studio version and the live is how he embellished the live version. The voice is the same regardless. My favorite singer is Luther Vandross. I love his rich tone and the creative musical choices in his songs. I like Chris Stapleton for the same reasons. I call him the country Luther Vandross.
The world needs more of this raw, authentic sound. So beautiful to be authentic and let that emotion release. Chris and other blues masters could lead the way in making crying ‘safe’ again. I love your reaction. ❤
