@@JamieByrneTV it was also the first place I ever visited in Spain, that was 41 years ago. I do love other parts of Spain though, but maybe because it was the first place I went is why it will always be a special place to me. I do like places like Benalmadena, PalmaNova etc. or if you prefer a quieter place which is a bit more Spanish, then Puerto Pollensa is a really nice place. Salou just has a buzz that I really enjoy though.
@@JamieByrneTV Yes, it's definitely changed a lot. Much bigger than 41 years ago, and a lot busier than back then. It was still a fairly large place though, and the beach was still really busy, and I guess the buildings looked a lot newer. You can see in a lot of areas that Salou has been around quite a long time by some of the 1970's architecture which now looks a bit dated - nothing that a few tins of paint couldn't sort out 😀. It's one of the most popular resorts in Spain now, and I guess it used to have a bit more of an "innocent" feel to it if that makes sense. I stayed at the Hotel Venecia Park (now the Ohtels Villa Dorada) and it was basically in the middle of a pine forest, but the whole area is now completely built up. The fountains and promenade still look pretty similar to back then though.

Absolutely! This is my first visit to Spain and I worry it'll be difficult to top this elsewhere in Spain.

@@jambon7681 Do you feel it has changed much in the 41 years? I'll have to look up these other places you mentioned.
