@@GamerPro132 buy a bigger one and turn it down with sandpaper & a power drill. With a knife whittle one end of the dowel rod down so it'll fit into the chuck of a power drill, turn on the drill and spin it while holding the sandpaper around the other end until you get a perfect fit, then cut off the end that you whittled down so it's flat = perfectly fitting ramrod.
@@GamerPro132 by the way, how do you store your oxidizer? do you use any dessicants? my KNO3 keeps absorbing moisture and i have to dry it in the microwave 😅
A CATO is coming... Your rumming rod is too loosely inside the tube that you press and that will be create problems in your core while it burns,perhaps maybe it will explode!!! Always pay attention your rumming rod to be exact as your tube !!
Also with that tight-fitting ramrod after each stage of tammping with the hammer use a bench vise to compress it further ( drill press would be better, of course drill press does not even get turned on you just attach your ramrod where the drill bit would go and just use the up and down arm) either one of these methods and make the clay hard like concrete so when you drill out your nozzle it will be perfect!
Very cool. I'm currently working on a more basic KNO3 sugar rocket because it's easier for me to get the materials, however I would like to get into KClO3 rocketry. Hope to see your motor powering a rocket soon!
@@GamerPro132 if you check the MSDS it'll tell you what and how much binder there is. It's usually just a couple percent paraffin wax. It shouldn't be much of an issue from it.

Why not get a ramrod that fits more tightly more snug into your tube?

Potassium clorate as a oxide set, and I believe hexane as a fuel with a it of iron oxide sprinkled in as a catalyst

Those fuel tablets arnt pure hexamine, you might get better performance if you did an extraction on them to remove the binders
