always wanted to make a diesel potato cannon that works off of compression instead of heat but every time i draw it out it ends up way bigger than i want it be
So I tried using electric arc ignition to get this to go but I never had any luck. My theory is that although the electric arc is much hotter. The ionized air doesn't have enough heat capacity to vaporize and ignite the droplets of diesel as it passes through.

now make the barrel longer and chamber wider
a flyback transformer (easily obtained from old CRT TV) would work much better as an igniter

Dude that's to much work all you need is a can of white rain hair spray a simple barbecue gas grill igniter and your good to go
