Question mate do i have to properly remove the External HD everytime i will turn off my ps4? or can i just turn off my ps4 right away without properly removing the hard drive?
I have a Seagate 2tb external hard drive that I bought back in July of 2018 and still use it to this day. Great investment if your PS4 has low memory or you just have too many games.
@@GeekStreetwhat if I want to transfer all data from ps4 to ps5 when I have some data on the ps4 in the external hard drive? Please answer I need a question
Excellent video, to someone who is not very tech savvy it was clearly presented, it was concise, easy to follow, I feel safe in the knowledge that I can follow your instructions precisely and know that it is right. I have a question : Obviously following your instructions on disconnect, can I then connect to a replacement PS4 should this one breakdown, or maybe connect to a friend's PS4 ?
Thank you so much for this vid. The guy at Best Buy told me I can some some bucks by getting this external hard drive the same one you have. I can finally play more games

How's it holding up? I've seen reviews on Amazon and some say it failed after a few month or corrupted there ps4. Can't decided between this and Seagate 4tb?
Thank you for sharing this video. I had no idea how to do this. This is the greatest video I have ever seen for this application. Excellent job on showing us what to do. Cheers my friend ;-)
Do you need one that is specifically for games? I’ve seen ones that meet the requirements for PS4 but it’s for pc but does not mention game consoles. Pls help
Excellent and informative well done posting. I had no idea how to do this and will now install the storage disk. Making sure its USB 3. Which i also didnt know. Cheers mate great job😊👍
I just want to say thank you so much you really help me I want to bought a whole bunch of games off of PlayStation Plus and then have enough room on the storage that I already bought
very helpful video. thank you very much. Just two questions. 1. When i insert a new game disc and it starts an installation, can this be installed on the external or it must be installed on the device so the game can be played? 2. Can i transfer full games from the device to the external and still play them?
Thank You very much dear Sir! One question though. If for example I take out the hdd (gracefully of course), plug it into another ps4 with a different account and maybe even a different region, would those games be playable or they would only be somehow locked to my account? Also would I still be able to plug back the hdd to my ps4 and use it as if nothing happened?
Easy to follow tutorial. Hoping you can help....Everything looks set up correctly but my move application option is disabled and still get a not enough storage error. USB 3.0, external drive formatted and selected as the download location. Any ideas?
Thx for the nice informative video that’s the hardrive I want to get for my PS4 just would like to know can I then use it with the games on it on a ps5
I have a question, you changed the location of the storage after you added the extended storage, what does that do? Can I just attach the extended storage device and activates it, how can I make it so all the games I download get downloaded in the extended storage and the data from using those games gets transported to the system storage?
Great video, very helpful! One question tho... when the time comes where I will be upgrading my PS4 to a PS5, will I be able to use the same WD Passport? I understand that most likely none of my PS4 apps or games will remain on the hard disk, but will it be able to reformat after switching devices for good?
If I want to upgrade to a bigger external (from 2Tb to 4Tb, for example), is there a way to transfer the data that exists on the old HDD to the new one? Or will everything have to be reinstalled/re-downloaded?
So if you put games onto hard drive with up-to-date updates, and use the hard drive on another ps4 system, will you be able to play the games already downloaded onto the hard drive with out in stalling onto the other ps4?
I think it’s possible to keep your saved data on both system storage and the external hard drive, also in the online storage, you can find it in “Application Saved Data Management”, thanks.
Helloo I’m a new console player and I made a mistake buying one for 500GB, most of my games are from PS store. If I bought the disk will I still be able to redownload the games from the library? New subs thank youu
Too good, one question Why can’t I purchase another hard drive and keep 2 hard drives for more storage U clearly mentioned I can’t use another drive as a secondary storage, just wanted to know why!?
Can i ask somethink because i cant find this information anywere. Do i need to use special hard disk that says its for ps4, or i can buy any and still be able to use it?
Just a little confused at the end. What d you mean by plug it into the ps4 directly, not I to the usb3 hub? Not too tech savvy, where do you plug it in, is the port that you plug controllers into the hub that you don’t want to plug it into?
Hey there I have a HDD 320gb will it be compatible with my the PS4 as a extended storage I took it out from my ps3 because my ps3 is broken and my mom and I ordered a micro usb 2.0 cable which is not what you mentioned to get but that’s besides the point will the 320GB work for extended storage please respond ASAP
Just a quick question, if I switch off my ps4, do I have to disconnect the external hard drive before switching off? Or could I just switch off the ps4 without having to do anything different?
I’ve got a question for someone!!! - I was thinking of getting a 5tb hdd for my ps4 as the storage is only 500gb. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get the ps5 and obviously it runs on an ssd with a fast load speeds, if i were to get it and use it on ps5 when it comes out, will it do slower speeds it will I still be able to take advantage of the fast ssd whilst still having big storage?? Someone please help thanks!
I wouldnt risk it, as if will definelty slow down the PS5 by a significant amount but it may also corrupt the PS5 as if was not made for external hardrives, im sure Sony will come out with more info on this
If I’ve used my external for a different ps4, and decided I want to use this hard drive now for a different one can I just hooked it up? I bought I bigger hard drive and will use my smaller one for a different ps4. Is that ok?
Amzing video bro, already subscribed Bro 2 questions would be really appreciated if you can answer 1)if I add hardrive would it make my ps4 slower in any case now or later on? 2)now I am planning to buy Wd 5tb black hard drive, in any case will hard drive cause any lag or I have to buy SSD but those are expensive so will hard drive will do the job completely? Thank you
Can we unplug the hard disk when not required ? If yes, when we attach it again, will it ask for format again or will it work normal as extended storage ?
I know there’s a chance you won’t see this but whenever I try to download something it says there’s not enough space and when I go to error info is shows there isn’t enough space on my system storage even though I have it set to download on my extended storage
