ah... opening ceremony?
Kind of. It's the first year's greeting called Shigeyoshiki ^^
そんなに写真を撮りたいのなら、変身舞妓・観光舞妓の写真を撮ってればいいいと思うんですけれどね。その方が他の人の迷惑にもなりません。
i would hate to be a maiko or geiko, the way ppl treat them like themepark mascots
I absolutely agree, people treat them like shiny dolls, not like humans. Sometimes it's even worse than in this video when people try to touch their kimono or crowd around the taxi and blind them with flashes right into their faces. Sadly, this not only refers to tourists but to some of photographers as well.
NOBODY should ever be abused or disrespected . However the time for them to really worry is if/ when no one bothers to take their photos or make videos of them. Then they know it's time to re-train as something else. Computer programming, perhaps ????
They don't make their money or rate their success on random tourist paparazzi but on their clients. What you're saying doesn't really make any sense.
