- Hello Friends,
As every bike has a engine (motor/mill/muscle) and
a carburetor (breathing system/heart with the output
- Silencer. All the single cylinder bikes is built in 2
stroke or 4 stroke with a carburetor.
A motorcycle of 150 cc should give average mileage
of 35 to 40 km per litre. But it differs from road to road.
Generally we get mileage in highway but not in city.
So, When the bike become old or the setting of a
carburetor has been disturbed, then the fuel consumption
may be high and there must be some problem with mileage.
That’s the common problem we faced everywhere.
So, for this we need to check up the air cleaner and spark
plug. Besides this there may be another reason of high
fuel consumption is due to dust in air cleaner. So, air
cleaner should be cleaned up properly. After removing
the spark plug, if the spark plug is wet or seemed to be
black in color at the end point, then no doubt, its
consuming the fuel at a certain label where a normal
bike doesn’t. For this we need to clean the spark plug
properly and reinstall it. Now lets check the carburetor’s
setting. For this engine should be heated up first for
at least 5 minutes. After heating we will increase the
RPM of the carburetor. Basically there is 2 (two) types
of carburetor in a bike - 1) Butterfly type and 2) Piston
type. Remember Bajaj Pulsar, TVS Apache, Royal Enfield
and some others bike have butterfly type carburetor and
Bajaj Avenger, Yamaha FZ and some other bike have
Piston type carburetor. There is 2 (two) adjuster present
in carburetors - One is RPM (Slow race) adjuster and
another is Air fuel mixer tuner. So for adjusting a carburetor
engine should be started first and RPM of the carburetor
should be increased to 40 speed. For this we can see on
RPM meter and adjust the RPM and the bike with no RPM
meter should be adjusted the RPM with an idea of an
engine’s sound. Remember the meter shown should be
in steady. So, after adjusting the RPM to 40 we will tight
the air fuel mixer tuner to the end point, the slowly un tight
it to the 2.5 to 3 round (ring) or will tune up to the place
where the engine RPM is high. And after tuning again we
need to tune down the RPM adjuster to its normal i.e. at a
certain label to 1.5 on the RPM meter. Now the carburetor
is fully tuned. Some carburetor’s air fuel mixer tuning is
quite opposite from the other as it tights up where the
other untights in the same directing of its tuning.
So, this is the process and perfect setting of carburetor
of any bike for better mileage.

For past 4.5 yrs I am getting consistent 42km/l on tank to tank basis in city only, but in extreme stop n go traffic got 35-38 km/l. Fortunately on highway at speed 70-80 kmph I get 45kpl

Sir, normally Pulsar 150/180's default tuning setting is 2 to 2.5 but for better and perfect result you can adjust by RPM of the engine as per shown and discussed in the video. And about the engine heating issue, make sure to set the engine's RPM (slow race adjuster) in its normal position after being tuned. After all if heating still persist, then no doubt, its not for carburetor issue. Thank you.

Dekhiye agar achha mileage de rahi hai to setting ka chher-chhar mat kijiye. Aur mileage kam de rahi hai to set kar sakte hai. Best tune karne ke liye engine ki RPM ki awaj se perfect hota hai jo vdo me dikhaya hai.

Basically 160 CC engine's mileage around 40-45 is normal & average. But still if you want to test you can do it. And for an engine that may be 150-350 cc, it doesn't mean to have for a specific rotation. So, the best way is - heat up the engine first then tight the mixer to the end point and increase slow race tuner so that the engine doesn't stop. Engine RPM will be little high so don't worry. After all loose the air mixer tuner slowly to a certain position where the RPM of engine is very high. Lastly after setting mixer tuner to its proper position, adjust the slow race tuner to its normal position so that engine does not gets off (Slow Race).

14 liters Petrol hai iska fuel tank capacity aur 3.4 liter me reserve tank fit kiya gaya hai. Isliye kamse kam 3 se 4 litres ka petrol ho tavi accurate dikhayega.
Bhai maine avenger 180 street me honda unicor. Ka jet lagaya meri bike ab city me 55 ka average deti hai or out of city 68 ka

Solution hai, glass wali dukan me jake iska same size ka glass katwakar laga sakte hai, ya to pura speedometer change karna padega.

Basically 220 CC engine's mileage around 35 is normal & average. But still if you want to test you can do it. And for an engine that may be 150-350 cc, it doesn't mean to have for a specific rotation. Dekhiye, generally 1.5 to 2 round to jaroori hai Khas karke 100 cc bike mein, lekin depend karta hai engine ki condition ke upar. Kavi-kavi 2.5 tak lag sakti hai. Isliye engine ke RPM ko follow karke adjust karna hi best hota hai. Thank You.

Bhai, jeise vdo me dikhaya gaya hai, usey properly follow karke try kare. Bajaj 220 ka mileage average around 40 dete hai, lekin isme toh kam se kam 30-35 dena chahiye. Let me know after u try it.

Dekhiye brother, Avenger 220 Steet me kam se kam to 30-35 mileage dena padta hai. Ap apne bike ka plug ko khol kar check kijiye ki, plug ke end point me keisa color hai. Agar ye black color hai to ap sure jo jayiye ki ye bike 100% petrol jyada khaa raha hai. Aur agar air mixer ko tune karna chahte ho to round pe bharosa mat kijiye, kyu ki ye round bike ke upar nirvar karta hai ki bike kitna purana hai, isiliye tune karte waqt iski awaj se pehchane jo meine vdo me dikhaya hai aur ye hoga best aur perfect setting.

Maine mixer screw pura tight krke fir RPM ko high krke mixer screw ko dhila krna start kiya to screw 1.5 round me bike rage krna start kr diya. Maine wahi RPM ko low krke adjust krke rakkha hy. Lekin low RPM me bike ka sound on-off jysa fluctuate kr raha hy. Mera bike 3yr 4 month purana hy. Pehle maine long me mere bike 38-40 milage deta tha.

Iske liye carburetor ka sahi aur perfect tuning jarurat hai, isko ap avenger ki vdo me follow kar sakte hai. @@sanjaynath222 Sir, apka bike on/off jeisa fluctuate karega kyu ki ye 1.5 rouund sahi jagah nahi hai. Ap aur ghumake dekhe ki RPM aur badta hai ki nahi, aur jaha pe RPM jyada hota hai ussey bhi agey badake dekhe. Agey badane se agar same rehta hai to fir wohi jagah pe wapas le ja kar ruk jaye jaha RPM sabse jyada ho. Wohi jagah best tune hoga. Thank You.

Check your engine oil (mobil) whether its in right label. Carburetor setting: The mixture of air and fuel entering the engine cylinder must be correct in order to overcome overheating of the motorcycle. If air/fuel mixture entering the engine is lean then there are chances of your engine overheating. Also low engine oil will lead to inadequate cooling of the engine. Thank you.

Toh air fuel mixture ko sahi tarike se set kare, Air fuel mixture kitne round ka hoga ye depend karta hai bike ka engine condition ke upar. Isliye apko engine ki RMP awaz ko sunkar adjust kare, wo apko best result dega. Iske liye vdo ko achi tarah se dekhe jo dikhaya gaya hai. Aur ha tyre pressue ko v check kare, jyadatar log ispe dhyan nahi dete hai, lekin ye tyre pressure bhi mileage kam hone ka ek bahut bara karan banta hai. Thank you

U r right bro, thats why RPM display of Pulsar is shown to make understand. You can tune it without RPM display by hearing the sound (high race) of the engine. Thank you.

Check your carburetor setting, if required tune it as shown in video moreover check the wheel of your vehicle whether its free circulating or not. Low pressure in tyres can greatly reduce fuel efficiency, Tyres require air to stay in proper shape or else all they will do is create rolling resistance, this makes it harder for the wheels to move and hence decreases mileage. The first thing to do is to check your bike's tyre pressure. Thank you.
